Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas

Sermons

Summary: Everyone is looking for answers to life’s question, but there is really only one question that needs to be asked in order for us to experience real living in Christ.

Questions that make you go hmmmmm.

Matthew 19:16-30

Pastor Ryan Akers

Me- I love to ask questions. Annoying as a kid because i asked so many questions. My daughter now ask "why" to everything. I would ask because i was just curious about everything around me.

We- We love to ask questions.

We ask them from the time we are little children all the way to the end of our lives.

We look to all kinds of places to find help with these questions

Oprah, Dr. Phil, Self Help Books, Psychics

Write down some questions that you are asking in your life right now.

But what we fail to realize is that we are always asking the wrong questions.

God- God taught us the right questions to ask.

Matthew 19:16-30

The Right Question: How do I enter life?

The ruler did a lot of good things, but he failed to do the most important thing.

-Willingness to give up everything for God.

You- Take this home: Real living happens when your willing to lose everything.

Final Story- Paige being sick- giving her up to God.

We- What would life be like if we quit asking selfish questions and started asking the right one? We would worry a lot less and do a lot more for God.

Acts 2:42-47- ALL the believers gave up everything for God’s sake and they were blessed with community and helped build God’s Kingdom.
