Profile Of A Lukewarm Christian

Summary: Being lukewarm is unacceptable behavior for a believer and is useless for the kingdom of God. The Lord is looking for believers who love their Lord enough to share Him with a dying and confused world.
while the whole world is trying to define “Who’s your neighbor”? God’s people are not lukewarm and existing, but serving Him with their whole life, with all their resources. Lukewarm people give to God as long as it does not change their standard of living.
King David
“No, I insist on paying the full price, I will not take for the Lord what is yours, or sacrifice a burnt offering that cost me nothing” 1 Cor. 21:24
would you describe yourself as totally in love with Jesus Christ? Or would half-hearted, lukewarm, partially committed fit better?
Phil 3:10
“I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in death and so, somehow to attain to the resurrection from the dead” We stop at the resurrection- to know Christ, power of the resurrection (that is what Christ did) but we do not want to share in his sufferings.
God uses the uncomfortable and unexpected to teach us total dependance on Him
H.O.P.E. Helping other people excel. The Lord gave that to me Friday morning during my prayer time. I believe I will be putting that on my business cards. We offer hope to others by helping them excel. Helping them do the impossible. Jesus Christ helped us do what we cannot do in ourselves, and gave us hope. We cannot live half-hearted lives and think that it would be enough for us to sustain that intimate relationship that God desires from each one of us.
Let me close by asking the question again to you this morning. Do you truly love your Lord Jesus Christ with al your heart, all your mind, all your soul? Do you love Him more than you love yourself and those immediately around you? Do you love Him enough to care about the people that you come in contact with everyday?
God offers crazy love to us, He expects radical love from us in return, lukewarm is not what He desires from us. I am going to open up the altar for a moment this morning, if you want to come and talk to the Lord, I would invite you to do that right now.
