I Timothy 1:

18 ¶This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare;

3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

I’m sure that many have seen the startling pictures of our brave American soldiers with frightened faces staring into the as Iraqi soldiers interrogated them. Stories of horrible atrocities are being told of brutality abuse and despicable treatment is being told.

All through the pages of time as wars have been waged and battles fought. There have been soldiers that have been taken captive as a valuable commodity. Posing as pawns for the enemy. Books have been written concerning the punishment afflicted upon PRISONERS OF WAR.

And I’m sure every soldier will tell you it is not a desired condition to be a Prisoner Of War.

Each and every one of us have received a call. A call to arms. A call to battle. A call to WAR!

A war that is not fought in the earthly but heavenly. A war not fought with tanks and jets But

A WAR FOUGHT WITH PRAYER AND WORSHIP!!

Not a war fought with missiles and grenades.

A WAR FOUGHT WITH THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT AND THE SHIELD OF FAITH.

AND TONIGHT YOU CAN BE IN THE ARMY BUT NOT IN THE BATTLE!!

HELD CAPTIVE BY COMPLACENCY

IMPRISONED BY PAIN

HELD HOSTAGE BY HURT

YOU STARTED AS A SOLDIER OF WAR AND YOU HAVE FOUND YOURSELF A PRISONER OF WAR.

WATCHING OTHERS FIGHT WHILE YOU SIT ON THE SIDE-LINE!!

OTHERS WAGE WAR AND YOU STAND COWERING IN THE CORNER LIKE A HELPLESS SOLDIER!!

YOUR BURDEN HAS BE BROUGHT DOWN BY BOREDOM!

YOUR PASSION HAS BEEN REPLACED BY PROBLEMS!

YOUR CALLING HAS BEEN COMPROMISED BY A CAREER!

MAY I TELL YOU IF SATAN HAS YOU CONVINCED YOU THAT YOUR IN A DEAD, BORING CHURCH HE HAS YOU DECEIVED.

WHEN YOUR VISION IS DIRTY EVERYTHING IS DIRTY

YOU HAVE BECOME A PRISONER OF WAR!!

WHEN YOUR DESIRE TO SERVE BENJAMIN FRANKLIN HAS BECOME GREATER THAN YOUR DESIRE TO SERVE GOD

YOU HAVE BECOME A PRISONER OF WAR!

WHEN YOUR PROBLEMS SEEM GREATER THAN YOUR GOD-

YOU HAVE BECOME A PRISONER OF WAR!!

WHEN TEACHING SUNDAY SCHOOL HAS BECOME CHORE AND NOT A PRIVILEGE

YOU HAVE BECOME A PRISONER OF WAR!!

WHEN PICKING UP KIDS FOR SUNDAY SCHOOL HAS BECOME A LABOR AND NOT A LOVE-

YOU HAVE BECOME A PRISONER OF WAR!!

WHEN YOUR TOO BUSY TO COME TO THE HOUSE OF THE LORD-

YOU HAVE BECOME A PRISONER OF WAR!!
