UNITY OF BELIEVERS
Ephesians 4:1-6
INTRO:
Paul begins to exhort the reader’s of the church of Ephesus and to us today to promote the unity of the church through godly living.

“I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.” -Matt. 25:40
I. Worthy Walking (vv. 1-3
a. Walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called
b. We need to walk along with our Brothers and Sisters in Christ in a way that is pleasing to God
i. Humility
ii. Gentleness
iii. Patience
c. Showing tolerance for one another in love
d. Diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit
II. One Body and One Spirit (vv. 4-5)
a. One Lord
b. Lone Faith
i. There are many Man made religions, but there is only one faith and way to heaven.
c. One Baptism
i. We are baptized to public profess our belief in God
ii. To make a stand for God
iii. For the Holy Spirit to issue us into the Family of God
III. One God and Father (v. 6)
a. He shares four relationships
i. Creator
ii. Jesus Christ (Matt. 3:17)
1. God proclaimed that He was His son and that he was well pleased with him, after Jesus was baptized.
iii. Israel (Exodus 4:22)
1. God stood up for Israel as Moses approached Pharaoh to leave Egypt
2. His chosen people
3. His firstborn son
iv. Believers in the Lord Jesus Christ (Gal. 3:26)
You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.
We all may be from different ways of life or geographical locations, but once we accept Christ as our Savior, we all become sons and daughters of God.
CLOSING
If we cannot love and care for our own family that God has given us, then how can we love and care for those that God has called us to minister too.
