THE EVIL CHAMPION
I Samuel 17: 24 When the Israelites saw the man, they all ran from him in great fear.
25 Now the Israelites had been saying, "Do you see how this man keeps coming out? He comes out to defy Israel. The king will give great wealth to the man who kills him. He will also give him his daughter in marriage and will exempt his father’s family from taxes in Israel."
26 David asked the men standing near him, "What will be done for the man who kills this Philistine and removes this disgrace from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?"
Compensation for your troubles.
• God doesn’t expect you to just go through trouble.
• The prize fighter never enters the ring without having his compensation pre-arranged.
• You are unwilling to fight because you think your just fighting to be fighting and don’t realize there’s a prize.
• I don’t know about you but I want more than a trophy.
Revelation 3:
7"To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: These are the words of him who is holy and true, who holds the key of David. What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
8 I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
• There is an open door in front of you that NO MAN can shut.
• The only one that can shut a door God opens for you is YOU!
• You need to open up what already is. It has always been there you just haven’t seen it.
• You need to get your eyes off: The circumstance, You and on the prize.
1 Corinthians 16:
9 For a great door and effectual is opened unto me, and there are many adversaries.
SOMETHING IS STANDING IN FRONT OF YOUR DOOR.
1 Samuel 17;
3 And the Philistines stood on a mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on a mountain on the other side: and there was a valley between them.
4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
* Notice there was a MOUNTAIN, than a VALLEY, than a MOUNTAIN.
* You can’t miss the VALLEY. MOST LOVE IT ON THE MOUNTAIN.
* The Bible says there was a Champion – representing the Philistines wanting to fight 1 from Israel.
THE WAR WAS FOUGHT IN THE VALLEY BETWEEN 2 CHAMPIONS.
• May I suggest to you that many think they have many adversities?
• Things that plague you that you don’t talk about.
• I’M HERE TO SUBMIT TO YOU THAT THERE IS 1 CHAMPION THAT IT IS ALL TIED TO.
• All those little things that keep you coming to the alter week after week BECAUSE YOU HAVE BEEN AVOIDING THE CHAMPION THAT REPRESENTS THEM ALL.
The real problem might be you’re selfish.
• All the other stuff you deal with stems from that selfishness because it feeds that Champion.
• It may be FEAR – which makes you mean, nasty, irritable and you deal with them but not the root.
• It may be PRIDE – You fight your: call, leadership, stubbornness BUT IF YOU WOULD JUST DEAL WITH THE CHAMPION YOU WOULDN’T BE SO MISABLE.
Some of you get will religious because you kill the little things – yet avoid the Champion…..THE THING BEHIND THE VEIL.
You must deal with the big thing that is feeding the little things that is standing in front of your door.
• There’s a Champion that is standing between you and the victory that God has for you and defies the armies of God.
When you’re boxing you focus on the one in the stands.
• You don’t fight: the spectators, trainers. THAT WON’T WIN YOU THE PRIZE.
• It reality terms, you blame the preacher, make excuses. BLAME EVRYBODY ELSE OTHER THAN YOU>
• You must ask yourself, “What is the real Champion that has been running my life?”
• It can’t be everybody else all the time.
• It’s easier to blame Melissa, or Daniel.
• DEAL WITH THE CHAMPION. What have you been avoiding? What causes you temporary peace? What is robbing your family, You?
KILL IT!!!!
1 Samuel 17:4 And there went out a champion out of the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.
5 And he had an helmet of brass upon his head, and he was armed with a coat of mail; and the weight of the coat was five thousand shekels of brass.
6 And he had greaves of brass upon his legs, and a target of brass between his shoulders.
7 And the staff of his spear was like a weaver’s beam; and his spear’s head weighed six hundred shekels of iron: and one bearing a shield went before him.
Giant – BULLY. Who is bullying you from your destiny?
• He was loaded to Kill.
• 4-7 A giant nearly ten feet tall stepped out from the Philistine line into the open, Goliath from Gath. He had a bronze helmet on his head and was dressed in armor—126 pounds of it! He wore bronze shin guards and carried a bronze sword. His spear was like a fence rail—the spear tip alone weighed over fifteen pounds. His shield bearer walked ahead of him.
EXAMPLE: If I was going to fight Bill. (Oozy, grenades, semi-auto medics, shot gun, 9 MM.)
IF I HAD ALL THAT AND HE DIDN’T, WHO’S SCARED?
If I’ve got to carry all that, I’m scared.
• Why does the Devil have to overdress?
• What is it that Satan knows about me that I don’t even know about my self that causes him to overdress.
• That he must bring all he has to come against me.
• I must be really bad. I must have something I don’t even know I have!
Even when you were born you went through hell.
All your life Satan has fought: Your home, life, finances.
Ask yourself, When Jesus was born they tried to kill everything around him, What is it about me that scares Satan!
Ephesians 6:
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
Stop complaining and realize IF YOU WOULD KILL THAT CHAMPION YOU COULD STEP THROUGH THE DOOR GOD HAS FOR YOU!!!
WHY ARE YOU SO SCARED?
What are you running from that you should be killing?
• Satan knows that as he prepares to fight you (overdressed) – as you realize who you really are, you’re going to put him under your feet where he belongs.
• He says, “If I keep him distracted he won’t fight me and he’ll keep running.”
• Have you ever had a bad hair day?
• The straw that broke the camels back.
• Sick and tired of being sick and tired and everybody knows not to mess with you. NOT TODAY!
NOT TODAY DEVIL, I’M NOT IN THE MOOD. I’LL SKINN YOUR HID!
• GET out of my house, my children. NOT TODAY DEVIL!!!!
This is the day that the Lord hath made, I WILL REJOICE!
1 Samuel 17:8 And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.
9 If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.
10 And the Philistine said, I defy the armies of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.
• “Give me a man!
• You bunch of sissies!
• Can you send somebody!
• Will somebody ask your momma for permission to fight!
• 40 DAYS…..40 DAYS
Everyday you wake up and that Champion speaks to you, morning and night.
• “He’s an idiot” He don’t love you…..You can’t pay your bills…Your kids are crazy…..MORNING AFTER MORNING AFTER MORNING.
• Then he’ll send devil speaking, negative wet blankets in your life to speak poison.
• But worse than that your biggest enemy will start…..YOU!!!
• How can you know God’s will when you hang around people who aren’t Saved and full of the Devil.]
• AND THEY’RE GIVING YOU ADVISE ABOUT GOD!!!!!!!!!!
You need to surround yourself by Holy-Ghost filled godly people.
• If 2 or 3 will gather in my name there shall I be in their midst.
• 1 can put 1,000 to flight and 2 10,000.
• I can do all things through Christ….
• No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
