NLT 1 John 3:8 But when people keep on sinning, it shows they belong to the Devil, who has been sinning since the beginning. But the Son of God came to destroy these works of the Devil.
Jesus came to set us free from the bondage and power of sin. He came to destroy the works of Satan in our lives (1 John 3:8). The devil is the enemy of our lives because he
He came to set us free from ungodly habits, behaviors, thoughts, and characters that are controlling us and even sickness which are caused by Satan and his demons. We can be free from these things if we submit to God’s process of setting us free. ( Ephesians 6:10-18; John 10:10.; James 4:7 )
Unmasking Satan …
• His ultimate purpose of making people captives is to stop them from glorifying God by preventing them from understanding the gospel of salvation found in Jesus Christ and stopping the Christians from enjoying the abundant life that God has promised.
• His uses Generational sin and curses( Exodus 20:5 ), transference of spirits ( 2 Cor. 6:14 & Prov. 22:24-25 ),traumatic experiences and personal sin as open doors to come in to our lives. He uses deceptions, temptation and the worldly system of life to drag us into sin.
• Signs and symptoms of bondage in our lives are uncontollble ungodly beahvior, lifestyles and habits, uncontrollable excessive and negative emotions (fear, anger depression and unfrorgivenss) and uncontrollable disinterest towards God. The worst results of demonic activity in a person’s life is extreme demonization or demonic control and inluence. ( Mark 5:1-20 )
• Though Satan seems too powerful, he is still powerless before Jesus Christ. The Devil’s power and authority has been taken away by Jesus from us through His death and ressurection.
But we still have to choose …
Though Jesus can set us free, we still need to submit to Him and His process of setting us free if we want to live a life of freedom and enjoy the abundant life that He has promised to give to us.
