Matthew 28:5-8
Come, See
James Sulton
The great invitation of God is to come and see Jesus.
The Bible, the Word of God is the most revealing of all books in the world. It invites us, with vivid clarity to come see Jesus.
I. COME SEE HIM IN THE MANGER.
A. His birth was prophesied. Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and his name shall be called wonderful, counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting father, the prince of peace.
II. COME SEE HIM AS HE GREW.
A. He was man
B. But He was God-man, performing the work of God.
III. COME SEE HIM AS HE SUFFERED.
A. Everyone dispersed. No true witnesses.
B. God hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
C. Galatians 4:4, "But when the fullness of time was come, God sent forth his son."
IV. COME SEE: THEY TOOK HIM DOWN FROM THE TREE.
A. They put him in a borrowed tomb.
B. They made fast the door, sealed with the king’s seal.
C. They placed a watch at the door.
V. COME SEE AFTER THREE DAYS AND NIGHTS.
A. The stone rolled away from the door.
B. The tomb is empty. He is not here! He is risen.
C. 1 Corinthians 14:45-52
Truly we can say of Jesus; death is swallowed up in victory. "O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
My lost friend, death is your enemy.
