Six Things In ‘06 That Will Keep You Fixed
Jeremiah 29:11
By Clarence E. Weaver, Sr
Introduction:
This is the beginning of a New Year, and many people around the world establish a New Year’s Resolution. Many promise to start a diet after eating so much during the holidays. They promise to start saving more money, stop smoking, drinking, are just some of the few things we say we will do.
However, after about the time winter is over that promise would not get fulfilled. Some have been discouraged because they have had the feeling that the resolution is a fruitless ritual with no evidence of tangible results. Many more just simple quit the promises that they made and avoided any opportunity to participate in it. Since I am speaking to Christians, I hope that we know the promise that God have kept for his people. We must remember that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. We need to establish our plans to the Word of God. Your plans and visions will be fulfilled if we put our trust in God.
This has inspired me to write to you my brother and sisters to help us to avoid the world’s view on plans for our lives and learn the plans that God the Father of creation has for us. This will help us to avoid doubts, fears, frustration, and anxiety that we put on ourselves through during our life challenges for this year and beyond. I was inspired to write “Six Things In ‘06 That Will Keep You Fixed”:
I. Know The Plans That God Has For You
II. Write Down Your Plans And Visions
III. Transform The Way You Think and Become It
IV. Don’t Let Your Past Hinder You From Developing Your Plan
V. Your Plans Can Be Fulfilled With or Without All of The Resources.
VI. Show That You Are Committed.
I. Know The Plans That God Has For You
God believes that you can do the task as long as we trust Him, and let Him do the leading for your life. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and know of evil to give you an expected end”.
A. God knows the future and he will provide us with an agenda and will go with us as we fulfilled his mission for our lives. The number one problem why so many of our plans do not get satisfied is that we leave God out of our plan. We must ask him for the plan that he has for us, seek his guidance, and knock on the doors where he direct us. This does not mean that we will be spared from pain, suffering or hardship, but God will see you through a notable end.
B. We must put boundaries on your desires, and we should not go after everything that we see. We must look straight ahead. We must guard our hearts and make sure we concentrate on those desires that will keep us on the right path. Make sure that your affections push you in the right direction. (See Proverbs 4:23-27.)
C. You must let God direct your way by seeking his advice before you step out. Anytime that you step out on our own without any direction or any advice you will find yourself in the wrong place talking with the wrong source.
The steps of a good man are order by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand (Psalms 37:23-24).
II. Write Down Your Plans And Visions
Before anyone can fulfilled plans or visions for their lives they must understand their strengths and weakness. You must recognize your gifts or talents and seek God the creator for his designed plan that he has for your life.
Habakkuk 2:2-3 says, (2)“And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision and make it plain upon tables, that he may run and readeth it. (3)For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come. It will not tarry.
A. Be patient! God will work out your plans and visions in perfect timing. Do step out without putting God first. Let your way be God’s way for your life.
B. His plans and purpose for your life will establish you with the desires of your heart. You must continue to stick with the plans that he gave you. Look at them daily and write down your plans before you step out each day will help you stay on your appointed time.
“So shall my word be that goes out of my mouth: It shall not return unto me void, but will accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in thing whereunto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11 KJV).
C. Seek God for the resources that you need in your plans and vision. Remember that it was God that gave you the desires of your plans and vision, and he will send the Holy Spirit to coach, guide, and furnish you with his divine plan for your life.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness and all things shall be added unto you (Matthew 6:33 KJV).
John 16:13-15 says, (13)Howbeit when the Spirit of Truth, is come, he will guide you unto all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that he shall speak, and he will shew you things to come. (14)He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. (15) All the things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
III. Transform The Way You Think and Become It
In order for you to reach your divine plan that God gave to you, you must change the way that you think. Since God gave you a divine plan you must know how God thinks so that you can become who God say that you are in his divine plan.
A. Become The CEO to Your Plan. Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”……..
B. Prepare yourself to be obedient to God’s standards then comply by talking and walking in it. See Romans 12:1-2
(1)I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. (2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is your good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God - Romans 12:1-2 KJV.
C. Surrender all of your thoughts to God by allowing yourself to become obedient to him.
(4)(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds ;) (5)Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. (6)And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled - 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 KJV.
IV. Don’t Let Your Past Hinder You From Developing Your Plan
Many of our plans fail because we are surrounded with failures from our past and feel like you are plague with generation curses. Here is just a few:
Your grandmother was on welfare, mother and now you.
Your grandmother was a teenage mother so were your mother, and now you
Your grandfather was a drunk, so was your father and now you. These are just a few but there are many from our past that hinder us from walking into our destination.
A. Make an analysis of yourself to identify your strengths and weakness. Then make an assessment to what is beneficial to your plan and hold on to it. Establish standards for your plan and set achievements for those standards.
The Apostle Paul wrote in Philippians 3:13-14, (13)Brethren, I don’t count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, (14)I press towards the mark for the prize of the calling of God in Christ Jesus -Philippians 3:13-14 KJ.
B. Don’t look back on the things that you lost. Stay focus on your daily goals. Be patience and know what direction that you need to take to meet your daily goals.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
C. Identify godly people that have similar plans that you have and ask them to be your counselor. Asked them what hardship that they had to face and why they did not give up but stayed in the race. Also avoid telling ungodly people that is contrary towards you and your plans. Therefore, don’t listen to other confusing voices of carnal reason. Remain faithful to God’s divine plan for your life.
Hebrews 12:1-2 (1)Wherefore seeing also are compassed about so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patient the race that is set before us, (2)Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God-KJV.
Romans 16:17-18 (17) Now I beseech you brethren mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which you have learned; and avoid them. (18)For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the heart of the simple-KJV.
V. Your Plans Can Be Fulfilled With or Without All of The Resources.
A. Remember that God has all the resources for you to become establish. Learn how to obtain them.
2 Peter 1:3-4 says, (3) “According as his divine power hath given into us all the things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: (4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escape the corruption that is in the world through lust – KJV.
B. God will allow you to complete your plans even when the government will not supply you with the necessary resources that you think that you need to complete it. (See Exodus 5:10-19).
VI. Show That You Are Committed.
James 2:14; 18 (14) What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? Can faith save him? (18)Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works – KJV.
A. Create a daily planner to reach your goals and stick to it. “Commit thy works unto the Lord and thy thoughts shall be established” (Proverbs 16:3 KJV).
Psalms 90:12 “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom” – KJV.
Proverbs 16:3 “Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established”- KJV.
B. Ungodly counsel will delay your plans.
Psalm 1:1 “Blesses is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
C. Don’t ever think that God will side track your plans. Remember he is the one that is in charge. Devote your present to God. Be ready for his divine disposal
Proverbs 3:5-6 (5) Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. (6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Psalms 37:5 says, “Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass”.
Conclusion
This is another year that we must decide to get serious with the plans that God has for us. Each of has a purpose and a divine plan that called. I like the way the Apostle Peter said it in 2 Peter 1:10 “Wherefore the rather, brethren, given diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these, ye shall never fail”.
God believes that you can do the task as long as we trust Him and let Him do the leading for your life. Remember the “Six Things In ‘06 That Will Keep You Fixed’:
