I want to share my Heart with you this morning. I want to be very complete and example very carefully this message.
How sheep ought to act or behave in the mist of wolf country.
Let be break it down and teach a little bit before we get into the meat of the message.
What is a sheep?............Webster says it this way. A person who is meek,Timid, defenseless,submissive.
In the greek= Pro baton and it means, something that walks forward and does not look back!
What is a wolf? #1 A name of a animal of Prey
#2 any of a large group of flesh eating dog like Mammals
#3 A fierce,cruel or greedy person.
#4 A man who flirts aggressively with many women.
#5 one who eats ravenously as a wolf does. Matt 7:15
But now lets consider the word Lambs. Luke 10:1-3 Jesus said I send you forth as lambs in the mist of wolfs.
What is a lamb? #1 A young sheep
#2 The flesh of a young sheep used as food
#3 Lambskin
#4 A gentle or innocent person particulary a child.
#5 A person easily tricked or out witted as a inexperienced speculator
Matt 10:16 Gives Instruction’s to be wise as a snake,
Luke 10:1-3 Gives us a reminder
watch how you live and act,
Gods People are likely unto a sheep,and he wants to know that there is wolfs out looking to kill us.
So I want to now take you to the wild, out in the pasture and lets all look together and see what we can Learn.
What is it about a sheep we need to be reminded of.
#1 sheep is the most helpless animal on the earth,
#2 he has a number of emenies
#3 he is not like a dog with sharp Teeth.
#4 A deer with a fast foot.
#5 A bee with a sharp stinger
#6 A polcat that can drive away any beast with his smell.
He will not even Flinch when he’s brought to the slather.
Like our Lord, Open not his mouth.
#7 He can not sense danger
#8 Sheep are very easly freightened if the they get scared they will stampeed
#9 Sheep like to wonder away from the flock. Is 53:6
#10 They have no sense of direction when they get far away.
Take a cat 50 miles from your home and some how he will find his way back. every time.
Take a pegen 1000 mile from where he calls home and he will find his way back.
But a sheep can’t do that.
#11 A sheep can not protect his self in any way.
#12 The only hope a sheep has is a good sherperd.
#13 If the sheep does’t follow the shepherd’s in danger of the wolfs.
WHY??????
#14 The sheep is Located in the midist of wolf country.
And if that is the case, we need to know a little bit about a wolf..........Amen
So what is it we need to know?
#1 The wolf is very cunning,
That word cunning Means, A skillfull, clever,shrewed.
Skillfull in deception,sly,crafty,
Matt 7:15 Tells us to beware of them.
#2 He’s very strong in body and teeth
#3 They are deadly killer’s
The only Protection a sheep has is to stay close to the sheperd
#4 They run in Packs.
#5 They kill just for the sport of it,
Look at out text again......Matt...10;16
It gives us some good advice Be ya there fore wise a serpents and harmless as Doves.
If a sheep is going to make in this wolf country he has got to know about the wisdom of a snake.
I toke some time and study the snake as well as the sheep and the wolf, and also the Dove.
So go with me now as we take a close look the snake or serpent. and the Dove.
What is it about Being as wise as the snake the lord was telling us to look at???
#1 He is very wise in the way he uses his ears.
A snake is deaf to the sound carry by air.
If you were to come upon a snake and stop and begin to talk to him and say Mr snake if you dont get out of my way I am going to step on you and cruse your head. Guess what he will not move, for he cant hear you.
He reacts upon movement, he can feel your vebration under yout feet.
You see the lord says to be wise as the snake, meaning in wolf country when you listen to the wolfs howl, ther sounds cant hurt you. but it’s the movement one need to watch. Any one can blow on a horn, but not every one can make it talk
#2 He is very wise in the way he uses his Eyes.
He sleeps with eyes open, The very smallest movement or shadow he knows what is going on. 1 Thess. 5;6 says let us not sleep as others do. but let us watch and be sober. We must keep our eyes open at all times watching and looking, the wolfs run in packs to take you out.
#3 He is wise in the way he uses Tongue.
A snake has always got his Tongue out
WHY??????????? He has instrument in it that he can pick up the smell of what he touches and the area he’s in and he puts it in the cavity of his mouth called a Jacobson organ for Interpertaion from the Brain.
He uses his tongue together information that he may be wise in where he goes.
James 3:7-8 talks about our tongue. and how dangers it can be.
Like the snake we need to be wise in the way we use our tonuge, and when we gather information send it to our Brain fro a intermation. To know how to Pray and not talk about it. Amen.......
#4 He is very wise in the way he gives his Location.
why???? Because he does’t give it.
he stays hide in the rocks.
Let me share with you a story. My wife used the illstration that I played ball with the devil, he would tell me something about somone else and there i would be. debateing with him.
I was on the job working and one of my co workers got put up to a higher and better paying Job, and it made me mad. and I went to him and caused conflict with him. But you know if I had been like this snake and been wise in giving out where i was and still of staying hid in the Rock of christ that would not have happen.
It is very inportant to stay hid with jesus, If you dont and show your self you could get attack by a wolf.
#5 He is very wise in the way he uses his Time.
He will not Jump at everthing coming and going, But he will wait till the right moment to kill his prey.
Ps 46:10 says wait on the lord,
Lamentations 3:25 The Lord is good to them that wait for him to the soul that seek him
#6 Last and Most important, He is very wise in the way he uses a unseen aid.
The snake has got has a pit in his head.
he takes tempture readings though that pit, when he comes upon prey, he can tell if it is hot or cold, dead or alive,
We too have a unseen aid............... The Holy spirit, he knows where the wolfs are at all times.
when we get in trouble . we can be as wise as the snake in letting the holy spirit leds us to safety.
And if we can Learn to do that it will makes us as Harmless as a dove.
Jesus said be as harmless as a dove, What did he mean? Well, lets look at last at the dove.
what can we learn about the dove, that will help us in the middle of wolf country.
#1 The dove is the symbol of peace.
#2 He will not pick a fight with another Bird.
He is known for his shareing of his nest. with other birds. he is at peace with all birds. Rom.12:18 If it be at all possibly as much as lieth in you. live peaceable with all men.
PEACE WITHOUT PURITY IS THE PEACE OF THE DEVILS PALACE.
#3 The dove does not live by the crop of others.
A farmer raises his crop, and all kinds of birds come and eat while it is growing and sometimes destroys it. The crow is known very much for that. but not the Dove.
The Dove waits till the crop is cut and harvest, then comes and gets what is there then. he works for his food.
what does that mean for us?
#1 We to need to get our own food, study, and labor for our selfs and not be like the crow.
Many seem to want others to grow the crop and then take from it.
1 thess.1;3 Remmbering without ceasing your work of faith.
1 cor.15:58...............Love will show it self by labor.
I have a farmer friend that has a dairy farm and puts in 100 acres of corn, I help him from time to time. and every year at each corner of his feilds, he brings a big pile of corn and just puts it on the ground, I ask him one day why he did that. He said, I like to give to the doves, for they want steal like a crow, so i feed them. The bring a Joy to me, and i have 100’s of them come. but you want see them to my corn is cut and in the barn, and here they come. I just give them a little blessing.
#4 Last but not least. A dove is not interesting in setting down in wolf country.
They want hang out around where wolfs are. Be ya harmless as a dove.
If we are going to make it in wolf country, we must also be harmless as a Dove.
