Hey everybody I got a word from the Lord today. I went to
church last night and we had the Holy Ghost fire up in there, and
when worship was over, my youth pastor stood up and said, "Listen...
not with your physical ears but listen in the Spirit." Well I heard
something that I’m not going to say right now, so that my story
isn’t ruined. And the Lord placed a thought in my head. This is
going somewhere I promise. Well I have a friend in my youth group
who is like my brother (actually I have a few who are) and so I
asked him what he heard when she told us to listen. He said, "I
heard rain." I started freaking out and got set on fire right
there. I asked him if he was serious and he said he was. I had
also heard rain when she told us to listen. The thought that come
to my head was 1 Kings 18:41 "... there is a sound of an abundance
of rain." The Lord had wired me and him in to His word and voice.
Well I was sitting in my 7th period class today and I got a word
from the Lord on Spiritual Rain. And I felt I had to share it.
The book of Genesis chapter 6 tells us about Noah and the
flood and how the Lord was going to destroy the sinful people in the
world with excessive rain. The Lord spoke to Noah about the flood
and He told him to tell the people of the upcoming rain storm. Noah
preached the flood for 400 years, but people didn’t heed the word of
God spoke through Noah. This was because no one knew what rain was
because it had never rained before and they had never experienced
it. Flip to the present day... We have never experienced the rain.
Stay with me now. Of course I’m not talking about physical rain,
but Spiritual Rain. I believe that very soon there will be
another "flood". Of course, I’m speaking of the Great Revival of
which my message "The Hand of the Lord Was Upon Me" was about. Now
when this "Spiritual Flood" happens it will be like no other revival
in history... So you see we never have seen the rain. We need to
apply the Bible more to our lives if we want a Spiritual flood to
occur more often. This "Spiritual Flood" will kill out sin in the
world, just as in Noah’s day. And the Lord will move in mighty
ways.
Now notice every time when the Lord speaks through a prophet
about revival, He calls it an outpouring of the Spirit. In the book
of Joel Chapter 2, verse 28, "In the last days, I shall pour out my
Spirit upon all flesh..." Have you ever wondered why the Lord uses
an expression like that when He speaks about the Spirit. Now I
researched rainstorms. Take apart the word "rainstorm" and what
have you got? You have rain which is defined as precipitation that
falls to the earth and provides life. And storm which is defined as
a disturbance of the ordinary conditions which stores power and
destruction. Spiritual rain is just that something that falls to
the earth which is necessary for life and causes a disturbance of
the ordinary conditions and detroys sin and godlessness. Storms
also refer to windstorms in which high wind is dominant. Look what
happened on the day of Pentecost. "Suddenly a sound like the
blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole
house where they were sitting."(Acts 2:2) The weather trembles at
the movement of the Lord.
Now take the definition of the word flood. "It is the tide
of land by the rise and overflow of a body of water." Let’s use
this in reference to John 7:38 " He that believeth on me, as the
scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living
water." So we got the River of Living Water. Picture that the
River of Living Water flooded and just pouring out. Kind of makes
you smile don’t it. Now if we are obedient we will have what Isaiah
spake about in Isaiah chapter 32 and the 15th verse, "Until the
spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a
fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest." He
is speaking of a Spiritual Flood that is coming soon. But we don’t
have to wait for the Great Revival to have our own Spiritual
floods. We can have them everyday. All we gotta do is what James
spoke of in James 1:22 "But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers
only, deceiving your own selves." Don’t deceive ourselves by just
listening to the word but DO WHAT IT SAYS. I’m going to end this
message on a prayer. "He which testifieth these things saith,
Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus."(Revelation
22:20) Christ love.
Untill He Returns,
Anthony
