Exo. 12:21-31
“Then Moses called for all the elders of Israel, and said unto them, Draw out and take you a lamb according to your families, and kill the passover. And ye shall take a bunch of hyssop, and dip it in the blood that is in the bason, and strike the lintel and the two side posts with the blood that is in the bason; and none of you shall go out at the door of his house until the morning. For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you. And ye shall observe this thing for an ordinance to thee and to thy sons for ever. And it shall come to pass, when ye be come to the land which the Lord will give you, according as he hath promised, that ye shall keep this service. And it shall come to pass, when your children shall say unto you, What mean ye by this service? That ye shall say, It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s passover, who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. And the people bowed the head and worshiped. And the children of Israel went away, and did as the Lord had commanded Moses and Aaron, so did they.
And it came to pass, that at midnight the Lord smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sat on his throne unto the firstborn of the captive that was in the dungeon; and all the firstborn of cattle. And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a great cry in Egypt; for there was not a house where there was not one dead. And he called for Moses and Aaron by night, and said, Rise up, and get you forth from among my people, both ye and the children of Israel; and go, serve the Lord, as ye have said.”
The Passover is one of the greatest events in the Bible, but sometimes, we do not utilize the advantages and lessons that we can learn from it. The Passover was the day that the Lord God, made the angel of death to pass over the Hebrew houses in Egypt, after they had sprinkled the blood of the lamb on their lintel, as a sign on their door posts. The Passover, was the day that the stubborn pursuer, Pharaoh was defeated. After the Passover, he had no option but to release God’s people. Likewise beloved, right there where you are today, if you would decide with anger and violence that you want today to be a PASSOVER for you, it shall be so in Jesus’ name. After the Passover, there was no contest again. The Pharaoh that said: “I know not the Lord, neither will I let the people go!”, he was the same person that said: “.... Go, serve the Lord as you have said.”
Are you there beloved, and there is an enemy that has refused to let you go; maybe it is a spirit husband or wife, maybe it is debt or ill-health or household wickedness or any other trouble, if you decree a Passover over it today, by the time the angel of death moves upon it, that problem will have no option but to let you go. They will say to themselves that you are untouchable and that they should let you go. I declare unto you beloved, by the power in the word of God and as the spirit of the Lord liveth, that today, shall be a Passover for you in the name of Jesus.
Why did I say so? It is because you are a child of God and Pharaoh has no option, but to release all your imprisoned blessings and set you free from your bondage in the name of Jesus. I stand upon the word of the living God and I declare that the angel of death shall pass over your life and family, in the name of Jesus!
The Passover gave an illustration of what God could do and He is still doing, when He has had enough. It is an illustration of the binding power of the covenant of blood. God said they should take a male lamb that is one year old and that is without blemish, kill it and smear the blood on the lintel of their doorposts. They should put it on three spots: above and along side, on the right and on the left, so that anyone who passes under it into the house will be covered. The three spots could be taken to represent the sign of the cross on which the Lord Jesus Christ died at Calvary for the remission of our sins.
These three spots could also represent God the Father, the son and the Holy Spirit. They were not to put it on the floor. They should not step on it because you cannot step on the blood of remission. In the same way, you cannot trample upon the Blood of Jesus, but you can seek refuge under it and be covered by it.
The Passover that happened in Egypt was an interesting event because all depended on the blood from the basin to the door posts without sprinkling it or spilling it on the floor. If they did it wrongly, they would have had problems. It is amazing to find out that a small thing could bring solution to a big problem. For example, the Bible talks about the foolishness of the preaching; but it is the power of God unto salvation.
How would a sinner depart from his sinful ways, if he has not heard that what he or she is doing is sin and that he or she is offending the Lord God, who is the creator of the whole universe. How would a sinner repent, if he or she does not know that, Jesus Christ the son of God, offered Himself as a sacrifice for the remission of his or her own sins. It is through preaching, that a sinner would know that the Bible is the word of God and that he or she can come to the saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Preaching could take just a few minutes and a whole sinful man or woman, who was heading for hell, would be changed from a path that he or she has been treading for many years or a whole life time.
Many people do not see any sense in prayer. They see praying as a long process. They want something fast and urgent. What such people do not realise is the fact that, all powers in the whole universe can be divided into two: negative and positive. If you do anything with a negative power or motive, it will certainly backfire. Also, if you obtain anything from a negative power, you will pay back with interest. If you rely on the use of negative powers, one day, you will come across someone with a higher negative power and you will be in trouble.
There is no power that can contest with the power of prayer. A prayer warrior may think he is not getting answers to his prayers but in actual fact, the prayers are like termites that are eating up wood from the inside of a tree. The tree could still be standing until a small push will bring it down and it will then be obvious, that it had undergone a process of gradual devouration. I want you to understand the implication of the Passover.
After the Israelites had applied the blood, the angel of death on evil assignment was released upon the Egyptians and spared the Israelites. If for any reason, an Israelite family had not applied the blood on it’s door post, this angel would have gone into that house and it’s first born would have died. On the other hand, if an Egyptian family had applied the blood the same way, it’s first born would have been saved. Before the Passover, Pharaoh was boasting and bragging that he would not let the Israelites go. In fact, he doubled their bondage; but one night, just one night, God arose and harkened to the voice of His children and that was it. Pharaoh gave in.
Today, whatever problem that has been bragging and boasting against your freedom, will be obliged to give way in the name of Jesus. It does not take God 5 seconds to go into action. I pray that today will be your day of Passover, in the name of Jesus. Perhaps your “Pharaoh” has refused to let go; after this Passover he will submit because after the Passover, Pharaoh’s surrender was complete. Then the Israelites got all the wages for the unpaid services that they had rendered to Pharaoh. The finger of God, which the Israelites saw was then stretched forth. It is very sad to see what the enemies have done to many people. They have done terrible and horrible things to many people. They have turned landlords to tenants, employers have been turned to employees or job-seekers, the free person has been turned to a prisoner.
There are some people beloved that if their lives had moved on smoothly, they would have been in good positions that if they had bought airlines by now, it would not have been too much. If they had built fifty houses, it would have been normal but today, they cannot even afford to feed or clothe themselves. If not for the “Pharaoh” husband like that the enemy pushed in the way of some women at their tender ages, they would not have been where they are now. There are some people who hail from families of chronic foundational witchcraft and the witches and wizards have decided on behalf of the whole family that, nobody in that family will achieve anything and they are dragging them down.
Sometime ago, we had to pray for a family of ten children who were all grown ups and had very high degrees. They all had Doctorate degrees except for the least qualified, who was a medical doctor. Out of the ten, seven of them were born again but none of them was married; none of them was gainfully employed. The three who were not born again, were the ones prospering. They had gone to consult herbalists and witch doctors who told them that their prosperity lied in serving the idols of their ancestors and they agreed. They were asked to donate their first born and they did. These three seem to be doing well and they have stable families, but it is negative success. They got it from evil powers of their father’s house to whom their parents had handed them over. Those who gave their lives to the Lord Jesus were finding it difficult to make ends meet in life, because those spirits were raging against them.
A lot of people are going through hard times. Many have lost what they sweated for. The enemy has planted things in many peoples lives that are meant to kill them. The enemy has written the label of “WASTAGE” on the lives of so many people. A lot of people will cry: “Pharaoh, leave me alone!” And “Pharaoh” will say “No, your ancestors handed you over to me and said I should not leave you alone. A lot of people are being pressed down on their beds at night. They do not know which powers are doing that; they are not visible but they can see these people and can harm them.
Beloved, you have to make up your mind whether you want these things to continue or you want to react. The Passover, was the final night of the bondage of the Israelites in Egypt.
I want you to make this declaration loud and clear, not minding where you are:
- Bondage! today is your expiry date in my life in the name of Jesus.
The Passover, was freedom for captives who had suffered for a long time. The furnace of suffering that Pharaoh was subjecting the Israelites to, was being heated without pity; but then, God declared that a morning of deliverance was coming. God had declared that the appointed Hour would come. No power could detain the deliverance after the Passover. Any power that confronts the Passover, is either sick or out of its senses. After the Passover, God’s chosen people must go free because, the Passover night is terrible in judgment. Death went in through the doors of the Egyptians, the slave and the king wept bitterly.
The Passover Power
I want you to apply the explanation of this power to your own situation. What is this power?
1. It is arrows of death, despatched to your enemies.
We are not to show mercy to the enemies of our destiny. Samson showed demonic mercy. Instead of him to have broken Delilah into pieces; bone by bone, he left her alone and she succeeded in handing him over to his enemies.
2. Long term problems and bondage, dismantled.
The Passover was only one night but it dismantled a 430 year old bondage. I am sure in my spirit that your own bondage is not as old as that so, be ready to get it dismantled today.
3. The enemy finally releasing you and your benefits and asking you to leave.
4. It is the Blood of Jesus arising to fight for you.
5. An exchange for the labours that you have done for “Pharaoh”.
Many people are still labouring for “Pharaoh” today. Some people work in factories from inception and they remain factory workers for many years until it is big and then, one day, the person in charge, puts the company in trouble and the factory is locked up and everybody is retrenched. Their labour had gone to “Pharaoh.”
6. Receiving compensation for what the enemy had taken from you.
7. Day or night of escape from the school of humiliation and disgrace.
8. Day or night of Joy.
9 The day the enemy lets you go.
It is the day that the enemy receives a red card from God, commanding the enemy to depart from the field of play.
10 It is the day that you laugh last over the enemy.
It is the day that you declare like Jesus, after the Gethsemane, the suffering, being pushed here and there, being nailed on the cross, He finally raised His voice and said: “It is Finished!”
How to move into the “Passover Power”.
1. Ensure that there is no sin in your life.
You have to be holy and without blemish like the lamb that was slain. This presupposes that you are already a child of God, otherwise, the starting point is a total surrender of your life to the Lord Jesus Christ and getting sanctified.
2. Pray in holy desperation.
When someone is praying desperately, he or she would be sweating profusely, even in an air-conditioned room. When you are praying desperately, you will not know if there are mosquitoes around. You will not know if any person or thing is there with you. Your mind will not wander about.
These are the kind of prayers that I am proposing to you today. You will pray them with holy aggression and with determination in your heart. However, if you are not yet born again, you cannot meaningfully pray these prayers. I want you to surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, so that you too can partake in the Passover that the Lord is preparing for that enemy. Why don’t you make today a day of regret for your “Pharaoh”? Take the bold step of accepting the Lord Jesus Christ into your life, as your personal Lord and Saviour.
All you need do is, acknowledge the fact that you are a sinner and that you cannot approach God in your sinful state. Confess your sins to Him, name them one by one and ask Him for forgiveness. Ask the Lord to cleanse you from all your sins and their consequences. Claim the redemptive power in the Blood of Jesus, that was shed on the cross at Calvary for the remission of your sins.
Invite the Lord Jesus into your life, ask Him to take control of your life and enthrone Him over the affairs of your life. Renounce and denounce the world and the devil; say “bye-bye” to them. I congratulate you on this important decision that you have just taken. It is the most important decision that you could ever take. I pray that it shall be permanent in your life, in the name of Jesus. I pray that the Lord will lay His hand upon you and keep you standing by His power. I pray that He will do great and marvelous things in your life, in the name of Jesus. I pray that your name will be written in the Book of life and will never be blotted out in the name of Jesus.
Beloved, I want you to know that this is not a joking matter. It is a matter of holy desperation. I counsel you to concentrate on this message and take the following prayer points with holy anger and determination in your heart. Focus on your life, do not bother about what is happening around you. If you decide that today, there will be a Passover agenda in your life, it shall be so. If you decide that the angel of death must cross into the camp of your enemies, and that the “Pharaoh” that has refused to let you go, will release you it will be so.
The Bible says it shall be so, if you believe. The scriptures cannot be broken. There are many people that are going about with extra personalities in their lives. These personalities are pushing away good things from them and removing good things from their lives. As you pray these prayers, all of a sudden, the power of God will come upon you and you will feel lighter. The personality would have left, evil deposits in form of sickness in your life, will drop off. Also, evil contract upon your life will be broken and new ones will be formed.
Many people have been pursued since they were in their mother’s womb and are still being pursued. These prayers will set such people free from stubborn pursuers. If you decree a Passover upon the camp of the oppressor today, you will be amazed about what is going to happen by midnight tonight and hereafter. When God appears at the battle front, there is no battle again. If there is a strongman in your family that has refused to let you go, the military angels of the living God will see to it, that the angel of death will be released into the camp of the oppressors. You must concentrate and let your heart be in these prayers:-
- The Passover that shall swallow my enemies, appear now, in the name of Jesus.
- The Passover that will disgrace my Pharaoh before midnight, appear now, in the name of Jesus.
- The Passover that will recover my possession before midnight, appear now, in the name of Jesus.
- The Passover that will announce my breakthrough, appear now in the name of Jesus.
- The blood of Jesus that cannot be questioned, arise, kill all satanic conspiracies against my destiny.
- Let the angel pass over me to my enemies’ territory and dismantle all satanic constructions against my life.
- My Father, anoint me powerfully to pray to dumbfounding breakthroughs in the name of Jesus.
- Holy Ghost fire, frustrate the efforts of the Pharaohs of my achievement.
- The testimony that my life has been crying for, overshadow my life by fire.
- The miracle that will change my present composition, bombard my destiny now in the name of Jesus.
- O Lord, do a miracle in my life that will make my enemies insignificant in the name of Jesus.
- My Father, make my glory hot and untouchable by the kingdom of darkness.
- My personal pass over that will make me the king over my enemies, occur by fire.
- The pass over that will threaten my enemies to surrender completely, manifest now in the name of Jesus.
- Any power justifying curses in my life, your time is up, therefore, die.
- Every power establishing failure, backwardness, demotion and stagnancy in my life, it is your time to die, therefore, die.
- Any power that has vowed against my excellence and distinction, you are a liar, therefore, die.
- My heavenly goal, I shall not miss you in the mighty name of Jesus.
- I (your name) shall receive my miracle today, in the name of Jesus.
- Every ancestral door- keeper, blocking my breakthroughs, die, in the name of Jesus.
- Blood of Jesus, cover my spirit soul and body, in the name of Jesus.
- Bless the name of the Lord for what He has done in your life.
