1) MOSES WAS BOUND BY HIS PAST AND HIS FEARS (NOT ENOUGH)
A) He heard God calling…
a) See vs. 4
B) God communicates to Moses the call
a) God is calling people to take a step of faith and do something that will take them out of their boat (their comfort zone)
b) Don’t miss this…
(1) God is not only setting the people of Israel free—but he is calling for Moses to be set free as well
(2) See chapter 2:21
c) God has heard the cries of your heart today.
(1) The burdens of the past
(2) The shame of failures
C) But Moses is bound by his past
a) Vs. 11 Who am I
b) Vs. 13 What if I can’t tell them your name
c) 4:1 What if they don’t believe me?
d) 4:10 What if I don’t know what to say?
e) 4:13 Please just send somebody else-I’m afraid
(1) please note at this point that God got mad
D) How many times when God is calling us to come out of our past and experience the new life that he is calling us to do we begin to make excuses and express our fear because of our past.
2) GOD GAVE ASSURANCE THAT HE WAS ENOUGH (JUST ENOUGH)
A) He answered every one of Moses’ fears
a) Who am I?

b) What if I can’t tell them your name
(1) Verse 14 and following
c) What if they don’t believe me
(1) Chap 4:2 & 4:6 & 4:9
(2) Three visible miracles
(3) God uses what I already have to do incredible things
d) What if I don’t know what to say

3) GOD LISTENS TO MY HEART AND EVEN WHEN IT IS UNCERTAIN HE GIVES MORE THAN ENOUGH
A) O Lord, please just send somebody else
a) Can you believe that God even responds to this level of fear and disobedience in Moses’ life?
