(intro…)
Weather you believe you can or can’t you’re absolutely right.
Thoughts, conscious and unconscious, are generated on experiences. The thing you choose today will be a memory tomorrow. As that memory fades we tend to filter it through our past experiences to make bad memories better, or justified, and good memories best. E.g., “The older I am the better football player I was.” Everything else in between becomes brain fodder. I.e., The mass storages of thoughts which dreams are made of and fantasies are born from. This is the workshop where new information is generated and ideas are linked to form concepts. It is when this workshop turns to idleness, which deters us from our vision and goals that we must guard against.
This all begins with your receptors.
Luke 11:34 Your eye is a lamp for your body. A pure eye lets sunshine into your soul. But an evil eye shuts out the light and plunges you into darkness. NLT
Luke 11:34 Your eye is a lamp, lighting up your whole body. If you live wide-eyed in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. (THE MESSAGE)
Don’t think you’re above the system.
Gal 6:7-9
7 Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.
8 For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
9 And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap, if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint. AMP

HARVESTING YOUR CROP OF THOUGHTS
Your choices will become your destiny or demise.
Rom 6:16-18
16 Hardly. You know well enough from your own experience that there are some acts of so-called freedom that destroy freedom. Offer yourselves to sin, for instance, and it’s your last free act. But offer yourselves to the ways of God and the freedom never quits. All your lives you’ve let sin tell you what to do. 17 But thank God you’ve started listening to a new master, 18 one whose commands set you free to live openly in his freedom!
(THE MESSAGE.)
Demonstrate by walking in a room and closing the door.
Let me give you 3 strategies.
1. Know what will bring success and what is just entertainment.
1 Cor 6:12 Just because something is technically legal doesn’t mean that it’s spiritually appropriate. If I went around doing whatever I thought I could get by with, I’d be a slave to my whims. (THE MESSAGE:)
The abstract would be to categorize everything in two areas. 1. Vision 2. Entertainment.
2. Stop looking for good in negative or sinful things.
Job 14:4 Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? No one! NKJV
Rom 7:16-18
16 Now if I do [habitually] what is contrary to my desire, [that means that] I acknowledge and agree that the Law is good (morally excellent) and that I take sides with it.
17 However, it is no longer I who do the deed, but the sin [principle] which is at home in me and has possession of me.
18 For I know that nothing good dwells within me, that is, in my flesh. I can will what is right, but I cannot perform it. [I have the intention and urge to do what is right, but no power to carry it out.] AMP
Although this passage is comparing the power of the law, the concept here is to not do evil.
3. Pursue good things, stay away from questionable activities.
Phil 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. KJV
