Isaiah 19:3-4,14: And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst thereof; and I will destroy the counsel thereof: and they shall seek to the idols, and to the charmers, and to them that have familiar spirits, and to the wizards. And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord; and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts. The Lord hath mingled a perverse spirit in the midst thereof: and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunken man staggereth in his vomit.
Isaiah 31:1: Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!
The Bible shows us that help can be found in Egypt but it is against the help obtained from the Almighty God- the Holy One of Israel and it is different from seeking the Lord. Egypt signifies bondage and worldliness.
Whilst the Israelites were there, they were slaves, even though they had food to eat and drink, and they had shelter, even though they worked hard to earn their living.
Difficult situations and circumstances are a part of life. No human being can ever be useful without overcoming some obstacles. Olden - day - saints used to say: “There is no crown without a cross.” That is, for you to win a crown, you have to carry a cross.
To get to the Promised land, you have to go through the wilderness, pass through thorns and thistles, mountains and valleys, overcome Amalekites, Amorites, Hitites, Goliaths, etc.
However, it is certain that no matter how tough a situation is, it won’t last; if one knows what to do.
Elisha had a problem: he knew that his master Elijah was going away, and for him to do exploits, he needed power. As they were going on a journey, Elijah asked him to stay in Gilgal; but he refused. They got to Jericho, he asked him to stay, and he refused, they got to Jordan and crossed over after Elijah divided it with his mantle This was an examination for Elisha and he passed. The final stage was for him to see Elijah depart and he saw the chariots of heaven.
Psalm 34:19-22: Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all. [20] He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. [21] Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. [22] The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
The Bible makes us to know that the righteous could have afflictions and they could actually be many; but the Lord will deliver him from them ALL He will keep all his bones and not one will be broken but evil shall slay the wicked.
There will surely be oppositions, obstacles, problems, adversities, attacks, contrary views, people will gather against you but the Bible says there shall be deliverance.
A sister was praying the prayer points under the message: Prayers of the Psalmist.” She prayed them from 12 midnight till 3 am. She said as she was praying, she felt a touch on her shoulder but she looked round and did not see anyone. Immediately, she felt a great heat all over her. She did not give up; rather, she intensified her aggression until she finished all the prayers.The following day, she came to ask me what it meant and I told her that if a convict has been kept in the custody of a policeman, he will make sure that the convict does not escape. If the convict makes any attempt to break loose, the policeman will tighten his grip on him because he does not want to be held responsible for any mistake.
The same thing applies to any man or woman, who is in bondage, under the custody of a family strongman. If the man or woman prays aggressive prayers that touch the bondage, the strongman would want to tighten his grip on the person. The person too should get more aggressive and not give up, otherwise, the strongman will gain all the grounds. The Bible says: “They shall fight against you but they shall not prevail.”
The trouble is this: many people like to be pampered; many parents pamper their children into failure. What will make a person great sometimes, is the very thing that hinders him or her. When there is an obstacle to face, and he wakes up and starts to fight, he will start moving forward.
If a person goes to a school where there is no examination, no test, the pupils just move from one class to the other, year after year that school will be the worst ever, because nothing gingers the pupils to action or to hard work. Many people would not have become anything in life, if they had not been kicked, battered, opposed, discouraged, etc.
There are some people who would not have become prayer warriors today if they had not been put in a pot by the enemy, on a large furnace. Many people would not have bothered going to church, if there were no devil.
Many people have tried all sorts of means of overcoming the enemy and found out only fire prayers can scare the enemy. This is the fire that can consume both the pot into which they have been put, and the fire lit under it. Sometimes, even the enemy is consumed. “The land of opposition is the land of opportunities.” The Bible says: “They shall come against you in one way but shall flee in many ways.”
This is warfare; and it means the enemies have to come against you before they can flee from before you. If there is no problem, there will be no miracle. Victory will feed on unfavourable circumstances.
A research was carried out on the Cod fish some years ago. The scientists wanted to know how best to export the Cod fish without losing its flavour. They tried refrigeration, salting, drying, etc. It still lost its taste.
One day an old fisherman, advised that they should catch the fish live and put them in a tank, with sea water in it and then, introduce the cat fish, which is their enemy and see what happens. They put them all together in the tank and travelled with them, on getting to their destination, they found out that the Cod fish were alert and vibrant and tasty; this was due to the fact that the cat fish troubled them throughout the journey. Without tension, the cod fish did not maximize its potentials in the other methods and so, lost its flavour.
Many people are looking at adversity and crying; sometimes it is essential for your growth. It is usually the catalyst into success and greatness. One good thing about Christianity, is the fact that our fight is won even before we fight.
Goliath was a giant who threatened Israel as he stood before David, he was a reality, not a dream; he harassed them twice a day, for forty days. He challenged them to a fight. No one came out, they were all shivering. He said if he defeated their representative, Israel would become slaves to the Philistines and if their representative defeated him, they would become slaves to Israel. This man was 13 feet tall and there was no match for him in Israel. David confronted him in the Name of the Lord, he did not wish that Goliath would fall sick or run away, he approached him, believing that the Lord of Hosts was with him.
David told him that: “You come before me with a sword and with a spear and with a shield but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. This day, the Lord will deliver you into my hand and I will smite you and cut off your head; and feed the birds of the air with your corpse.”
David added that he would be an evidence to those watching, that God does not save His own people with sword and spear. He acknowledged that the battle was the Lord’s. Goliath was irritated and he cursed David in the name of his gods. David won the fight and the beauty of the fight of a Christian, is that he wins even before the fight starts. The Bible says “Fight the good battle of faith.” The fight is good because we already know the winner before it starts. Your faith will tell you that you are already a winner, it tells you that you will fight and you have already won. David killed Goliath before they met. It was the adversity of Goliath that turned David into a national hero. If he had not faced Goliath, we probably would not have heard of him in the Bible.
It is possible for you to turn your obstacle into a slave or a master. Many people come to the church and cannot rejoice in the Lord, because they have turned their adversity into their master.
Any problem you have, that generates constant worry or crying has become your master.
Any problem that makes you go from one prayer house to the other, has become your master; or to places where you obviously would not have gone to, because they are liars, has become your master.
Any problem that propose itself as having no solution, and has become a major preoccupation, ordering you around like a military officer, or takes away your happiness, or makes you do ungodly things, has become your master.
Anything that makes you to be impatient with people, and forms a heavy weight on your mind, or makes you talk to yourself day and night, brooding all over the place, has become a king and has turned you into a servant.
Take this prayer point with aggression:
I refuse to become servant to any problem in any situation, in the name of Jesus.
I refuse to consume the bread of sorrow, in the name of Jesus.
Sometimes, the reason some problems seem to be long lasting despite all prayers, is because many people went in the past to seek help in Egypt. This gives the enemy a legal ground in the life of the person on which he wants to operate unhindered. The enemy would claim that the person came to approach him by himself, without being invited. It does not matter who introduced the person to him. It does not matter what the person is now. Unless such contracts are broken by the Blood of Jesus, the enemy will lay claims to the life of the person and will boldly occupy the territory offered him.
Many people don’t know what to do; they were the ones that consulted the devil and he gave them what they wanted. The devil has no free gift. Jesus is the one that has free gifts- Grace; Unmerited Favour. Anything taken from the devil, has to be reimbursed, unless the contract is cancelled by the blood of Jesus.
People go to Egypt mainly because of ignorance, or unbelief or pressure from others. When they are pushed to the wall, the unfriendly friends will back out.
A man used to have epileptic fits and went to a herbalist; who said the only way out, was to have sexual intercourse with his daughter. In the night, with the help of his wife, the man sexually abused his daughter, of course, the epilepsy did not leave him but the life of the girl was marred forever. At 38, she was single and looking back, she traced her problem to that event, which she bottled - in, all her life.
When such a man comes to church and does not confess his sins, he could pray but this help which he sought in Egypt, could constitute a hindrance to answers to his prayers.
When people go to Egypt to seek help, they compare themselves with others, forgetting that each person is an individual and God has a plan for each, which would definitely differ, one from another.
There is an adage in Yoruba which says: “Fingers are not equal;” even though it is a traditional belief, it is true. People want to level up with others at all cost.
Many people go to Egypt because of impatience and when they get there, they get counterfeit help.
2 Kings 1:2- 4,15-17: And Ahaziah fell down through a lattice in his upper chamber that was in Samaria, and was sick: and he sent messengers, and said unto them, Go, enquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron whether I shall recover of this disease. [3] But the angel of the Lord said to Elijah the Tishbite, Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and say unto them, Is it not because there is not a God in Israel, that ye go to enquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron? [4] Now therefore thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not come down from that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. And Elijah departed. And the angel of the Lord said unto Elijah, Go down with him: be not afraid of him. And he arose, and went down with him unto the king. [16] And he said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Forasmuch as thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, is it not because there is no God in Israel to enquire of his word? therefore thou shalt not come down off that bed on which thou art gone up, but shalt surely die. [17] So he died according to the word of the Lord which Elijah had spoken. And Jehoram reigned in his stead in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.
This king went down to Egypt for help and he collected death and hell fire, although he wanted Egyptian information. It is good for you to know now, that the enemy of your soul, can always counterfeit spiritual blessings in order to deceive you. Let that be clear in your spirit.
There was a man who was the principal of a school. Suddenly, he had a stroke. His hand and leg got paralysed. His wife a nurse, took him to different places but there was no solution.
One day, he received a letter from a friend in France, who told him to go to MFM and see Dr. Olukoya. He came and recounted his ordeal. I asked the Lord if it was real stroke or something else and the Lord told me that it was an evil padlock binding his spinal cord. We prayed and addressed the evil padlock.
After the prayers, he felt relieved and I assured him that he would no longer have sleepless nights. True to the word, he slept from 6 pm that evening till 12 pm the following day and he could make use of his hand and leg.
After some days, he was well again and could write and walk well so, he went to the school to resume his duties. Someone who was obviously eyeing his position, did not like the healing and did not hide it. After some time, his wife pressurized him to go for a medical check up and not depend solely on prayers He came to ask me if he should go and I asked if he had any headache or pains anywhere, or any ailment in any part of his body and he said no. I advised him not to and he didn’t. After a few weeks, his wife put real pressure on him to go to the hospital for check up and not depend on prayers. He eventually succumbed and when he got to the hospital, the doctors scolded him and admitted him at once. He said his blood pressure was too high to stay alive; true to his word the man never got off that hospital bed; he died after a few days.
Counterfeit information from Egypt puts a person in trouble. The devil also has the power to manipulate any physical equipment, to read whatever he wants it to read. It then depends on you, to either believe what the doctors and their equipment say about your condition or solely cling unto the word of God and His promises for your life.
It could be true and obvious that the doctor has discovered sugar in your blood or whatever it is but do you want to depend on that or on what the Lord says about your situation. You can depend on God for divine health, which is divine immunity against all kinds of diseases. It is better than praying for healing when you know that your faith is in the drugs you take.
The kind of aggressive prayers we pray in MFM form the best kind of divine immunity you can have. I pray that any counterfeit information that you have received from Egypt, will be cancelled today in the name of Jesus.
Egypt was the center of witchcraft and magic in the Bible. Actually when God wanted to push Pharaoh down on his knees, He made Moses challenge him. When Moses turned his rod into a serpent, Pharaoh’s magicians too turned theirs into serpents. The serpent of Moses swallowed their serpents and did not get fatter for it. They took it as a light thing, not minding the fact that they had lost their rods. I pray that your enemies shall lose their rods today in the name of Jesus. Amen. No matter how much they purchased it. Your serpent shall swallow serpents today in the name of Jesus. Amen.
The contest continued; Moses commanded frogs into being, they too did. Then, Moses commanded lies to infest both human beings and animals and they could not do the same. They tried hard but couldn’t do so, they had to give up. They told Pharaoh that, that was the finger of God. They accepted their defeat. Today, I decree that your enemy shall be defeated in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Help and counterfeit information from Egypt cannot cope with the original one from God. If you depend on fetish help, one day, you will meet someone who has greater fetish that will overpower your own.
You could be depending on the lighting of multi- coloured candles, one day, you will be confronted by someone who has rainbow- coloured ones, which will overpower your own. May be you press sand, one day, you will meet someone, who presses his own in the sky and you will be defeated. These are the things that draw people back; many people have gone to Egypt to seek help. Today, we shall cancel such helps in the name of Jesus.
When praying, we encourage people to ask God to reveal the secret behind their problems. It is when you understand and know how things went wrong, that you can effectively deal with a problem. Many people do not seek to have the in- filling of the Holy Spirit, who will reveal t he secret of their problems to them, they depend on visioners ad seers who most of the time, use familiar spirits and divinations, to prophesy to them. Some of these diviners role on the floor or fall into trances and speak strange tongues and prophesy evil into the lives of people.
Some people are taught to copy the strange tongues of their leaders, some copy the preachers they watch on video, some read books, some recite what is dictated to them, saying they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Some depend on dreams and visions which come true and think it is the Holy Spirit. All these are of the spirit of Egypt. I pray that the Lord will open your eyes to see these wondrous truths, in the name of Jesus. Deliverance, that involves fasting without prayers, do not work, all the eating of banana or white things without prayers, will not work. It is a deceit from the devil.
WHAT TO DO
1. Cancel all former agreements
2. Reject the counterfeit and claim the genuine; so that things will begin to happen.
You have to cancel every conscious and unconscious agreements with the enemy, so that your breakthroughs will manifest.
You might be wondering if you have had any agreement with the enemy. You could , if you have ever eaten at the table of the devil- eaten or offered sacrifices to idols or gods. If you have ever put on religious or occultic jewelry, or crosses or rings; etc. If you have ever been friendly with any occultic person or even had sexual intercourse with them. If you have ever used the Psalms unscripturally. If you have ever read occultic books or horoscope, to see what the stars foretell, you have handed over your life to the spirits of the air. You have to break yourself loose now. If you have ever consulted a diviner or palmist or ungodly prophet or seer, to predict what the future holds in store for you, I would advise that you take the prayers that I am going to propose to you, with holy aggression.
The consultation of these strange powers, could have been done by someone else on your behalf. The effect is still the same and must be dealt with.
The spirit of Egypt could have been invited into your life, through your dressing or adornment. It could have been done through food. It has to leave now.
Beloved, if you are not yet born again, I would advise that you do so right now. If you have never at one time or the other, surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus Christ, I would advise that you do so right now and right there where you are. Call upon the Lord and confess your sins to Him. Ask Him to forgive you your sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness. Name those sins one by one and promise Him that you will never go back to them again. Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to come into your life and become your personal Lord and Savior; enthrone Him over the seat of your life and ask Him to take absolute control of your life. Promise Him that you will never go back to the world anymore.
I congratulate you for this decision that you have just taken. My prayer for you is that the Lord will uphold you and keep your feet from falling. I pray that the Lord will cleanse you and make you fit for the Master’s use, in the name of Jesus. As you start this new life, I pray that you will never look back, nor go into the world anymore; in the name of Jesus.
