With the commercialization of Christmas, it’s easy to lose sight of the real reason for the season. To help us regain our focus we are going on a treasure hunt. We are on an archeological excursion to find a hidden treasure. We are searching for the Christ in the Christian meaning hidden in the symbols of Christmas.
What light can we shine on the lights of Christmas? The Lights - John 8:12 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life”.
How can a star point us to a Christian meaning? The Star - Matthew 2:1-2 “Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him”.

And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert graffed in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree; Boast not against the branches.
