WHAT IS A PLACE CALLED HELL?
LUKE 12:5
5. But I will show you whom you should fear; fear Him who, after He has killed, has power to cast into Hell; yes I say to you fear Him.
Why is there a place called Hell, and where is it?
We know hell is in the middle of the earth.
But why is there a Hell?
A little over 6000 years ago, there was an Angel in Heaven; this Angel’s name was Lucifer.
Lucifer was a Cherubim, He was the most beautiful Angel in Heaven.
This Angel was full of intelligence, so he was very smart.
Lucifer was in the Garden of Eden during the time of Adam and Eve.
He had a covering on him that was made of all the precious and priceless stones there were.
This Angel had a musical talent that was given to him by God; He literally played in the very presence of God.
He was blameless in all his ways until unrighteousness crept into him
Lucifer is better known to us as Satan, the Devil.
Satan wanted to be like God, you might as well say He wanted to be him.
He was literally in the presence of God, pride entered in. He would see the Glory and wanted the praise God received and he wanted it.
Satan wanted to be in the situation God was in, so he led a rebellion in Heaven.
This rebellion was against God, and the things of God.
Satan was wise but yet stupid, the created could not beat the creator of all things.
But yet he tried, he led his troops, one third of the Angels of Heaven, according to ISAIAH 14:12-15 he failed.
ISAIAH 14:12-15
12. How you are fallen from Heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground,
13. For you have said in your heart: I will ascend into Heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the North;
14. I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the most high.
15. Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the pit.
Hell is a literal place! And there are different degrees of Hell.
According to Mathew 25:41 Hell was made for Satan and his Angels.
Hell is a real place with real torment.
LUKE 16:19-31 (READ AND EXPOUND)
19. Their was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously everyday.
20. But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate.
21. desiring to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich mans table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
22. So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the Angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
23. And being in torments in Hade, He lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, And Lazarus in his bosom.
24. Then he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am tormented in this flame.
25. But Abraham said, Son remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now He is comforted and you are tormented.
26. And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from their pass to us.
27. Then He said I beg you therefore, father that you would send him to my fathers house.
28. For I have 5 brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment.
29. Abraham said to him, They have Moses and the Prophets; let them hear them.
30. And He said, No Father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead, they will repent.
31. But He said to him, If they do not hear Moses and the Prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.
Hell was made For Satan and his Angels, but here we have the rich man.

You are aware of your surroundings, He saw Lazarus in Abraham’s Bosom
He wanted a dip of water; he was in agony in this flame.

MARK 9:38-50
38. Now John answered him saying, Teacher we saw , we saw someone who does not follow us casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him because He does not follow us.
39. But Jesus said, Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in my name can soon afterward speak evil of me.
40. For He who is not against us is on our side.
41. For who ever gives you a cup of water to drink in my name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, He will by no means lose his reward.
42. And whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he was thrown into the sea.
43. And if your hand makes you sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life maimed, than having 2 hands, to go to Hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched.
44. Where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.
45. And if your foot makes you sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame, than having 2 feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall never be quenched.

47. And if your eye makes you sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the Kingdom of God with one eye, than having 2 eyes, to be cast into Hell fire.

49. For every one will be seasoned with fire, and every sacrifice will be seasoned with salt.
50. Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.
Hell is a real place, real people go to Hell, and they have real feelings.
The worm (MEMORY) lives forever and the fire is not quenched.
It was made for Satan and his Angels.
Why would God let man go to a place called Hell?
He wouldn’t, people send themselves there by not accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior of their lives.
Do we know unforgiveness can send us to Hell?
MATTHEW 5:22
22. But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, Raca! Shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says you fool! Shall be in danger of Hell fire.
If we forgive, God forgives us, if we don’t forgive, God won’t forgive us.
Sin separates us from God! Jesus came to Earth to repair the breach between God and man.
He is our intercessor.
If I know something’s wrong and I willfully do it, the Blood of Christ will no longer cover that thing in my life until I really mean it.
I’m not talking about mistakes; I’m talking about a willful sin!
HEBREWS 10:26-27
26. For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, their no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,
27. but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries.
After we receive the knowledge of the truth, we understand that the knowledge of truth is Jesus.
If I’m a Christian, and God convicts me of eating a Hershey bar, He literally lets me know, at first I might have a hard time doing this.
If I don’t quit, it is sin because it has been revealed to me.
I know that’s a little extreme, but to him much is given, much is required.
A willful sin will not enter into Heaven!
A willful sinner will go to Hell.
The reason I preached this:
DREAM (4-21-2005)
I dreamed my wife and I were out witnessing on the road we live on. There were a bunch of people gathered together. I told the people they needed to know Jesus intimately. And if they did, He would help them in the situations they were in. I looked at my wife and said, “You thought I’d say more, didn’t you?”
SCENE CHANGE
We’re now on a different road; we’re stopping at houses and witnessing. In the dream, as we’re walking, God gave me a vision of a guy I went to school with. He had been in some kind of accident or something. He was to the point of death. We now stop at his mom’s house, not knowing it was his mom. We were talking about Christ and Hell. I found out Roger had died.
INTERPRETATION
We, as Christians, need to witness to others.
We need to know Jesus intimately.
We need to let the world know they need to know Jesus this way.
If people would accept Him as Lord and Savior, He would help them with their problems.
They have to obey, not just talk.
SCENE CHANGE
We’ve now left our comforts zone; we’re talking to different people.
In the dream, I had a vision of Roger; this is the same thing as a double dream.
God is establishing a fact!
We’re talking at his mom’s house, not knowing who she is while we’re there.
I’m talking about the love of Christ, and about Hell. She told us Roger died.
DREAM, (The interpretation is obvious) 4-21-2005
There was an urgency to tell people about Hell, and how real it is.
I woke up feeling this way!
Do you remember when I preached behind the clouds, there was an urgency to preach this message; the same thing goes with this message.
Christ is coming back for a church without spot and wrinkle.
We need to have an urgency to tell people about the reality of Hell.
CLOSING
REVELATION 20:11-15
11. Then I saw a great White Throne and Him that sat upon it, from whose face the Earth and the Heaven fled away. And there was found no place for them.
12. And I saw the dead, small and great, standing before God, and books were opened, and another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their works, by the things which were written in the books.
13. The sea gave up the dead who were in it, and death and Hades delivered up the dead who were in them. And they were judged, each one according to his works.
14. Then death and Hades were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15. And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the Lake of Fire.
We have to tell people that Hell is real; it’s a place of no release.
When I was a senior in high school, I told a fellow student to go to Hell.
That night God gave me a dream:
I dreamed the Death Angel was flying around my bed. I said it’s a dream. As soon as I made that statement, it swooped down to my body, took my spirit out of my body, and took me down to hell. I’m now standing on rocks in total darkness screaming, “It’s not a dream, it’s not a dream.” I woke up.
The reality is that Hell in NOT a dream! Hell is real!
