WHAT DO YOU CALL SIN?
Isaiah 59: 1-5
What is sin??? What do you call it??
The Webster dictionary calls it:
An Offensive against religious or moral law
A Transgression of the Law of God!!!
Augustine said Sin is believing the lie, that you are self created, or self dependent, or self sustained!!!
Did you create yourself???
Could you do anything without God???
I KNOW YOU CAN’T!!!!!
Jeremiah 32:17 says:
Ah Lord God! Behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power, and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee:
Some may think Sin is an accident, Baloney... God calls it an Abomination....
Do you think shacking up is an accident??
Can’t you just hear it now...
I’m sorry God I accidently shacked up with my girlfriend.....
Or OOpps I just stopped at the bar and drank 27 shots of whiskey....
Or OPPS I Just Smoked, or OOOHHH I just lusted after that woman that walked by....
lusting after other Flesh people is sin, or having dirty language ....cussing...IS SIN!!
Collossians 3:8 says:
But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth...
We may call sin a blunder or maybe even a defect but listen people God calls it blindness and God calls it a disease...
People God is not happy with us when we sin....
Isaiah 1:15 says:
And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you:
YEA when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood!!!
God is trying His best to call us to repentance...
But is there any of us that have enough sense to listen to Him??? I pray we do...
People we need to start listening to God...
We need to build that fire underneath ourselves.....
This world ain’t gonna last much longer.
Satan has his hold on way to many people today....He’s working overtime..
And He knows his time is short!!
And he’s completely powerless and all we gotta do is say so: in the Name of Jesus...
And at that powerful name the demons tremble...
I lift up the Name of Jesus Higher than any other name...
He’s worthy of our Praise...
And He’s worthy of our Honor..
And He is worthy of all the Glory...
We don’t deserve none of the things that God has promised us in His word....
And even further we ain’t worthy of eternal life...or a Glorified Body...
But God sent Jesus His only Son to make it so....
And that makes Him worthy of all the Praise!!!!!!
Give Him Praise in this House tonight!!!!
Some People may call it chance that someone was healed...Some may call it chance that someone was delivered...
Someone may call it chance that someone accepted the Lord....But Listen to me tonight... People God calls it a choice....
God has given us this choice....
How many times have you heard someone say A Good God won’t send me to hell....
God won’t punish me for eternity for my sins...God won’t make me do any suffering for my little petty things that I do...
Guess what God don’t send you to hell And God don’t make you suffer, God don’t send you to that terrible place.... You send yourself there!!!!!!!
We may call it an ERROR or a
Fascination...
GOD CALLS IT A FATALITY
ISAIAH 1:21 says:
How is the faithful city become an harlot?
(OR UN-FAITHFUL)
it was full of judgment; righteousness lodged in it; but now murderers.
LOOK AT WHAT MAN HAS DONE TO HELPLESS TERRI SCHIAVO
PLAYING GOD - And playing with God!!
Look at what our churches and our country is turning into....Look at the message we are sending to dis-abled people...
The courts are saying its better to be dead than to live dis-abled...
Our Judges....They’re Legal murderers....
People we ain’t prayin nearly enough in the UNITED STATES......
And we ain’t serving God like we should..
AND I’M AFRAID THE US IS FIXIN TO FALL FLAT ON ITS FACE.....
Jeremiah 2:30 says:
In vain have I smitten your children; they received no correction: your Own sword hath devoured your prophets, like a destroying lion...
Man calls sin an infirmity and God calls it iniquity...
People we are wallowing in our sin....
We have to have everything our way today or we get mad and pout......
We’re way too busy to serve God the way we should be serving Him....
We’re way too busy to lift up the name of Jesus the way we should be...
We’re way too busy to pray the way we should...
We’re way too busy to even serve God
cause we have to many other god’s to serve
We’re to busy chasin the women or the men and hanging out at the bars and the honky tonks.....we’re on the drugs and the alcohol
Child Molestations, and abductions, and murders, and rapes and the list goes on and on.....people it ain’t gonna last much longer.
Ezekiel 7:23 says:
Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence...
VS. 25 says:
Destruction cometh; and they shall seek peace, and there shall be none...
Our Bible is fulfilled and nobody cares...
The only thing left is Jesus Christ splitting the eastern sky and nobody cares....they’re in un belief....they don’t believe there’s a heaven and they don’t believe there’s a devil and surely not an eternal death in hell
The only thing we’re interested in is making everyone believe that we’re serving God and all the time...We’re just trying to be something we’re not!!!!!
God never promised us Sunshine without a little bit of rain...
God never said our lives would be a flowerey bed of ease...
God never promised us a perfect life here on this earth....
He never promised us joy without sorrow
Or Peace without a little bit of pain...
But he did promise us strength for this day
But Praise God when We leave this life if we’ll just live for Jesus... then we are gonna have everything perfect......
In this life everything is carnal and flesh..
Hosea 4:2 says:
by swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood!!!
That’s life today blood for blood...
Everybody’s out to outdo their neighbor
Our only hope tonight is in only one person.
Jesus said
Come unto me all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest...
Many have heard and many have come..
God has many that have been called
like Pastor________ and His wife______
They’re doing major big works for God..
And God has his Samson’s and Goliath’s
But there’s so many that are timid and backward and so afraid to speak up and lift up the Name of Jesus Christ....
And even though they’re weak!
Jesus is Strong, and gentle, and compassionate...and Kind...
And He is so willing to forgive and forget
all the terrible things we’ve done in our lives....
And still we’ll call sin a luxury, or liberty or trifle or a mistake or a weakness
and God calls it lawlessness and tragedy and madness and willfulness......
Back in the Old Testament it called sin
Transgression or rebellion
Psalms 32:1 says:
Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered....
My sin’s are covered by the precious blood of Jesus Christ tonight how about your’s..
Vs 2 goes on to say:
Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile...
And the Old Testament called sin
that which is twisted or crooked!!!!!
Psalms 51:2 says:
Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
We can be washed clean tonight if we’ll just allow it....
IT’S There For the Asking People......
Vs. 5 goes on to say
Behold I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me....
We were born in sin....all the way back to the garden of Eden....
Romans 3:23 says:
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.....
There’s many ways we can sin tonight...
We might commit sin by doing something that we shouldn’t be doing OR
We may commit sin by not doing something that we should be doing....
LIKE GIVING GOD ALL THE PRAISE HONOR AND GLORY....AMEN
Ephesians 4:26 says:
Be ye angry and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:
And VS. 27 says:
Neither give place to the devil...
In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth...
Keep satan under foot....He’s powerless
Powerless tonight.....
Somebody said at the center of the storm is a calm.....If everyday Life’s storm is tossing and turning you tonight just remember the center of the storm is a coming....
and that’s where God is....He’s there right in the center of your storm tonight to give you rest.....
Isaiah 60:1 says:
Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee.....
God is trying to lead all of us from the darkness into the light....
But we have to go in the right direction..
We have to feel that nudge from God...
We can’t fall when we’re supposed to be standing....
We have to listen to What God is telling us
He’s telling us to serve Jesus...OR ELSE..
Matt 7:23 says:
And then I will profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity....
Wouldn’t that be some terrible words.....
Matthew 13:43 says:
The Son of Man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;
We have to stay on the straight and narrow path serving the Lord tonight people...
Not living in sin...like many think they can continue to do....
2nd Timothy 2:19 says:
the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity...
Romans tells us sin’s a violation of our conscience
And He that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin...
Please don’t fail to include God in your plan.....
James said:
Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin....
Don’t break the Law of God...
1st John says:
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world....
What was the cost of sin???????
THE CROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
