MATT. 9:35-38 “JESUS’ PRAYER REQUEST”
A) Surly when we look at v.36, we see our nation today!
* The moral decline of the people in America is leading speedily to the weakening and eventual
fall of our nation! * Children being born out of wedlock has increased over 500%!
* Pornography has become a 57 billion dollar a year business worldwide!
* Our annual crime bill is over 25 billion and is increasing 4 times faster than our population!
* Gambling is more than all the money spent on churches, education, medicine and cars!
B) Our divorce rate is 50% ... One out of every two marriages end in divorce!
* Our nation is the most civilized nation on earth, yet there are 50 million of our children who
receive absolutely no religious instruction!
* An assault happens every 2 minutes ... A rape every 10 minutes ... A murder every 30 minutes ...
* Homosexuals are more than ever and increasing everyday!
C) Then there is the terrible HIV or AIDS virus ... 1 out of every 3 homosexuals are carrying it!
* Murder has been legalized through abortion ... Drugs: $220 billion are spent daily on illegal
drugs, not counting prescription drugs that are being abused!
* Cocaine deaths has more than tripled since 1985! * Crack has been proved that it destroys the
mind ... 60% of all illegal drugs are used in America!
D) Marijuana, the drug that has been sought after to be legalized, comes from the hemp plant ...
* A poisonous drug that comes from its dried leaves and flowers and will kill and destroy the body!
* The only people who are against these sinful conditions are Christians!
* So what we need in America is more Christians! * Jesus said in v.37-38 .......
* The only way to win America is to win souls! * Let me give you four things .......
(1) SOUL WINNING IS A COMMAND OF GOD! * Matt. 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and ...”
A) “Go” in the Greek means, “depart, go forth, take a journey, walk, travel.”
* The word “teach” means: “To make disciples by teaching the Word of God.”
* Mark 16:15 “Go ye into all the world, and preach the ...” * It is the Christian’s responsibility!
* In order to stay in existence, everything must reproduce itself after its kind – Gen. 1:24 .......
* “And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping
thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.” * That includes Christianity!
B) Christians are not to sit and wait for the world of unbelievers to come to us!
* The church is not to stand idly by and wait for sinners to come into the assembly!
* We are to go where they are and carry the Gospel to them!
* I don’t mean that we’re to go and partake of their evil, or compromise our Christian convictions!
* The Christian visits people to lead them to Christ, not partake of their sinful ways!
* And if we don’t go, it is a sin of disobedience!
(2) SOUL WINNING GIVES US A CHANCE TO SHOW JESUS HOW MUCH WE LOVE HIM!
A) If we say that we truly love Jesus, then we must put forth the effort to try and win souls!
* Why did Jesus come into this world? * 1 Tim. 1:15 “This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all
acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.”
* Luke 19:10 “For the Son ...” * Matt. 1:21 “... for He shall save His people ...”
* 2 Cor. 5:20 says “we are ambassadors for Christ.” * Do you know what that means?
* It means we are to represent Jesus to a lost and dying world ... We are to go out and win souls!
B) Notice the phrase in v.38, “... that He will send forth laborers into ...”
* Send forth workers, toilers ... We are to do the work that Jesus came to do!
* Jesus could have stayed or He could have sent the angels to do the job .......
* But He chose us and gave us the responsibility ... So be a soul winner!
* If we don’t do it, it won’t get done ... Show Jesus how much you love Him!
* It also shows sinners that you care about them! * Do they believe that you care about them?
(3) SOUL WINNING GIVES US A CHANCE TO EARN REWARDS!
A) Prov. 11:30 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.”
* The Bible promises us the earthly reward of wisdom for soul winning!
* Heb. 6:10 “For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have
shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.”
* Matt. 10:42 “And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water
only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.”
* Mark 9:41 “For whosoever shall give you a cup of water to drink in my name, because ye belong
to Christ, verily I say unto you, he shall not lose his reward.”
B) In Matt. 25:34-46 ... Nations are gathered before God – sheep from the goats ...
* Hungered (meat) ... Thirsty (drink) ... Stranger (took me in) ... Naked (clothed) ...
* Sick (visited me) ... Prison (came to me) ... * “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least
of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.”
* Dan. 12:3 “And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that
turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.”
* And at the judgment seat of Christ when we receive our soul winner’s crown, we can lay it
down at the feet of Jesus!
(4) SOUL WINNING WILL HELP ENLARGE THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN AND KEEP
PEOPLE OUT OF HELL!
A) It’s a joy to know that we have won someone to the Lord!
* It’s always a sad case when our friends, neighbors, or loved ones die lost, and we know that we
could have tried harder to win them to the Lord!
* When we win people to the Lord, the church will grow in attendance, tithes and offerings will
grow, and everybody will be happy and excited!
* Plus; it is keeping people out of hell ... IT IS WORTH IT!!!!!!!

A) Let us purpose in our hearts to be a soul winner for Jesus .......
* So that one day the blood of the unrighteous will not be on our hands ... Ezek 3:18 .......
* “When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor
speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die
in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”
* He says the same thing again in Eze. 33:8!
B) Psa. 126:5-6 “They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and .......”
* Rainbow Lake Church ... It’s our job and our responsibility to win souls to Jesus Christ!
* Soul winning is a command of God ... It’ll give us a chance to show Jesus how much we love
Him, and we will earn rewards ... The church will grow, and we’ll keep people out of hell!
