WALKING BY FAITH
PART # 2
Last Night we were talking about how God can’t
Use Quitters!!!
We don’t need any distraction, We need a
CLEAR DIRECTION FOR OUR FAITH WALK!!!
WITH OUR GOD!!!
We must continue forward in our faith walk…
Some Months ago our Pastor said in his sermon
Something that hits home for most of us…HE SAID
YOU CAN’T STAND STILL IN CHRISTIANITY
YOU HAVE TO EITHER BE MOVING FORWARD OR
BACKWARD (BACKSLIDING)
THIS IS SO VERY TRUE!!!!
We must advance forward in prayer – I’m ok here
NO MAN IS TOO SINFUL OR TO PURE TO PRAY!!!
We must advance forward with purity – I’m ok here
WE HAVE TO TRY TO REMAIN AS PURE AS POSSIBLE!!! REMEMBER HOW PURE CHRIST WAS!
We must advance forward with patience – I need work here
I’VE ALWAYS HEARD PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!
Our adversary the devil is waiting to devour us!
We must advance forward with persistence – I nail this one
PAY ATTENTION TO OUR KIDS AND LEARN this one
Now---some of us may say something like this!!!
WELL I WOULD REALLY like to be walking by faith
BUT I JUST CAN’T SEEM TO DO IT!!!!!
Do you know why We can’t do it????
Because We have enemies against us and they are
Against us in every direction…like YOU KNOW WHO - THE OLE DEVIL HIMSELF!!
Do you know the things or enemies that can keep
Us from having a WALK BY FAITH - AND INSTEAD HAVE A WALK BY SIGHT?? WHICH IS NO GOOD!
I’m gonna tell you several
Different Enemies that can stand in our way of
Having a Pure FAITH WALK WITH GOD!!!!
#1 – SELF
Are you surprised???
We are our own worst enemy when it comes to
Walking By Faith!!!
Now your probably gonna say PREACHER
HOW CAN THAT BE?
How am I my worst enemy when I’m fighting devils
And Demons and ETC. ETC. ETC.
WELL JUST LISTEN!!!!!
First of all with the least problem - We get an ATTITUDE!
Then We get INDEPENDENT - !
We become SELF RELIANT - !
We become SELF CONFIDENT - !
And then We become SELF SUFFICIENT - !
These are some of the greatest things hindering
Us having a WALK BY FAITH!!!
As long as you can do things without asking
God for a little help or a little guidance, most
Of us will go ahead and do it !!!!!
An old saying says most men don’t
Trust in God until they have to !!!!!
And we must trust and have faith ALWAYS!!
Now let Me just try to make this very plain and simple..
Most of the time Our Greatest Strengths can very easily Become our greatest weaknesses – If We rely and trust in Ourselves rather than relying and trusting in JESUS CHRIST!!!!
PSALM 147:10 & 11 SAYS
He delighteth not in the strength of the horse:
He taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man
The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy. (loving kindness)
Here is some good news:
Our greatest weakness can become our greatest
Strength – As long as we humble ourselves and
Submit to JESUS CHRIST!!!!
TURN WITH ME TO :
2ND CORINTH 12:7-10
We can never Walk By Faith and Bear lasting fruit until
JOHN 15;5 becomes real to us---LISTEN
I am the vine, Ye are the branches; He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit:
For without Me Ye can do nothing
This is one of my Favorite scriptures and was given to me by a very close and dear friend on a small cross statue
And I have spoke on this subject before in a different sermon!! Its very touching to me!!!!!
We are this vine that should bear this fruit for God!!!
#2 OUR WORLD SYSTEM
This is one of our enemies that is in total
Rebellion against God…
The foundation of our Society Promotes Independence From our God.. They say that there is no evidence that There is a supernatural!!!!
They think it all began with Humans and that
We must save ourselves!!!!!
THEY MUST BE THE ONES THAT HAVE ALLOWED THE 10 COMMANDMENTS TO BE TAKEN OUT OF THE COURTROOM IN ALABAMA AND THE ONES WHO VOTE IN HOMOSEXUALS AND LESBIANS AS BISHOPS IN OUR CHURCHES!!!!
NEWS FLASH!!!!!
Only God can Save Us!!!!
But we can’t expect the world to understand us
Christians who Walk by Faith and Not By Sight.
We have to expect criticism and persecution from
The whole world of Sinners….don’t get me wrong
There are some that will have respect for our religious belief’s,
But there are others like one of my best sinner friends
Told me that I shouldn’t be such a Fanatick about it!
HERE’S ANOTHER NEWS FLASH FOR YOU!!!
I AM A FANATICK!!!!!I’M A FANATICK ABOUT JESUS CHRIST!!!!
An old Indian once said;
No man should criticize his brother until
He has walked in his moccasins!!!!
I KNOW THAT I SHOULDN’T TELL PEOPLE THEY’RE GOING TO HELL!!! That’s pretty Harsh!!!
Maybe I SHOULD BE TELLING THEM HOW THEY ARE GONNA BURN WHEN THEY GET THERE!!!!
And how they’ll be cast into outer darkness!!
But I only tell it out of LOVE!!!!
I don’t want to see anybody go to hell
But you can lead a Horse to the water but you can’t make him drink!!!!! We just give it to God,,,,
There is no burden to Heavy to Place at God’s Feet!!
2nd CORINTH 2;16 SAYS;
To the one we are the savor of death unto death; and to the other the savor of life unto life. And who is sufficient for these things??
The human race was divided into two categories:
Those of life unto life and those of death unto death!!
Listen to a perfect example of how the world treated Men and Women in the day Who Walked in faith before us!!
HEBREWS 11:35,- 38 SAYS;
Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection.
And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment:
They were stoned, they were sawn asunder,
were tempted,
Were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; Of whom the world was not worthy
They wandered in desserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth.
You see we must continue to be strong and obedient
And move forward with our Faith Walk…
We are warriors for God!!!!! We are all Ministers in our Own way….
I can’t be a part time Minister… I’M 24/7
When my feet hit the floor in the morning I’m a Minister
When I go to bed at night I’m still a Minister for GOD!!!
#3 FEELINGS AND EMOTIONS
we will find some more that you might Call rebellious.
Here we have THINKERS who nearly must Function
On Logic, Reason, and They are Big on Detail and They are usually well organized!!!
Thinkers have trouble in their Faith Walk because
Everything don’t add up or It does not Compute!!!!
NEXT we have FEELERS
They function on Feeling, Emotion, and Intuition
Or from the Heart, Not the Head, these two
Need to be together (Heart and Mind)
The problem that a Feeler has is they have to be
Feely Touchy – they’re driven by Emotions – And that Clouds their judgment on their Faith Walk…
If it don’t feel good they’re afraid to incorporate
These things into their life!!!!
Their feelings sometimes go along with the
Barometric Pressure!!!!!!
We have to pursue God EVEN IF
WE DON’T FEEL LIKE IT!!!!!!
Do you think that poor old Noah felt like building
The Ark at the age of 600 Years Young???
Probably not but HE OBEYED GOD!!!!
Do you think that Moses felt like leading all of those
Murmuring people through the wilderness???
Probably not but HE OBEYED GOD!!!!
So Sick, Well, Or Otherwise We must obey God!!!!!!
If it’s a cloudy day - We must obey God!!!!
And now Last but not Least!!!!!
#4 IMPATIENCE –
This is no doubt my worst one!!!!!
Us impatient ones tend to rush out ahead of God.
We want everything right NOW!!!!
We can’t wait!!!!!!
We have to slow down – (See my thumb pointing
Back at Me?)
We must seek out God with all of our Heart and Strength!!
We must listen to God
We must spend time with Him
We must learn to recognize our God’s Voice!!
Most of us are not willing to wait!!!!!
And we run out ahead of God and usually
In the wrong direction!!!!!!!
PSALMS 46:10 SAYS:
Be still and know that I Am God!!!!!
MATTHEW 5;6 SAYS:
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after
Righteousness for they shall be FILLED!!!!!!
Let us continue to WALK BY FAITH and ENJOY
THE PLAN that God has for us!!!!!
PSALM 40;4 & 5 SAYS;
Blessed is that man that maketh the Lord his trust, and respecteth not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
Many O - Lord my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward; they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered!!!
JOHN 10;10 SAYS;
I am come that they might have life and have it more
ABUNDANTLY!!!!!
HOW CAN WE KNOW GODS PLAN FOR OUR LIFE?
We can only know it through Faith.
Faith In the Lord Jesus Christ!!!!
Isn’t it sad that many people live their whole
Lives out of Gods Will????
Many live their whole Life Missing out On Gods Plan!!
They end Up in an Unhappy Career.
They end up in an un-happy marriage
They end up living unhappily in the wrong City
Or maybe live unhappily in the wrong House
Or maybe driving the wrong Car!!!!!
Are you understanding what I’m Telling You??
You can be Happy Happy!! Joy Joy!!!
Or you can be SAD SAD SAD!!!!!
When you walk by faith you GLOW WITH
GODS POWER!!!!!
WHEN YOU WALK BY FAITH GOD BECOMES
ACTIVE IN AND THROUGH US!!!
AND MOST EVERYONE AROUND US CAN SEE IT!!
MARK 11;22 SAYS:
And Jesus answering saith unto them
HAVE FAITH IN GOD!!!
Listen to this and then I’ll hush up!!!!
LUKE 16;12 SAYS:
And if ye have not been faithful in that which
Is another man’s Who shall give you that
Which is YOUR OWN!!!!!!!
1ST CORINTH 1:9 SAYS:
God is faithful by whom ye were called unto
The fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord!!!!!
Are you walking by Faith Tonight????
IS JESUS CHRIST OUR LORD YOUR PERSONAL
SAVIOR TONIGHT???
WITH A WALK BY FAITH WITH JESUS CHRIST
ETERNAL LIFE CAN BE YOURS FOR THE ASKING
WOULD YOU JUST ASK TONIGHT??
