RECALL NOTICE:

Today we are continuing our series Extreme Makeover
We have been talking about the fruit of the Spirit
Our verse has been
Gal 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
so far we talked about Love, Joy, Peace And Patience.
Today we are going to talk about Kindness & Goodness
A mother was preparing pancakes for her sons, Kevin, 5, and Ryan, 3. The boys began to argue over who would get the first pancake. Their mother saw the opportunity for a moral lesson. "If Jesus were sitting here, He would say, ’Let my brother have the first pancake; I can wait."
Kevin turned to his younger brother and said, "Ryan, you be Jesus!"
Kevin wasn’t very kind here was he
Who was Kevin looking out for?
what is the key of being kind and good?
Let me give you the key
Put others first
that is very hard for most of us to do
we live in a world that says what about me
what will I get out of this
how much money will I make
you have to look out for number one
do these statements sound familiar?
These are questions that the world would have us ask.
These are the questions that are stuck in our mind.
Do you want to show kindness and Goodness?
Then we have to change our way of thinking
Rom 12:2
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
we have to start thinking of others first
how do you do that?
How do you put others above you?
How can you show true Kindness and Goodness
Three things have to change
1) Your Heart
James 3:13-18
13 Who among you is wise and understanding? Let him show by his good behavior his deeds in the gentleness of wisdom.
14 But if you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your heart, do not be arrogant and so lie against the truth.
15 This wisdom is not that which comes down from above, but is earthly, natural, demonic.
16 For where jealousy and selfish ambition exist, there is disorder and every evil thing.
17 But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.
18 And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
In order to show Extreme Kindness and Goodness you first have to have a heart transplant
Prov 22:15
15 Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; The rod of discipline will remove it far from him.
We are not born with kindness & Goodness in our hearts
(STORY YEAR OLD)
we only can show that extreme kindness & goodness when we start running after God
when we start running after God and see his heart and ask him to give us his heart
that’s when God starts the operation
we start seeing things the way God see’s things
we start acting like God acts
we start thinking the way God thinks
now you may say how does God act
love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
23 gentleness, self-control
The second thing that has to change is:
2) your words
I believe our words are the most power weapon in the word.
Prov 18:21
21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
With the tongue you can cause a world war

With the tongue you lose a job
(Example)
With a tongue you can destroy a family
(Example)
With a tongue you can take away the last hope from a hopeless person
(Example)
With the tongue you can destroy a church
(Example)
On the other side of things:
With a kind and good tongue you can cause peace
(Example)
With a kind and good tongue you can keep your job
(Example)
With a kind and good tongue you can preserve your family
(Example)
With a kind and good tongue you can give hope to the hopeless person
(Example)
With a kind and good tongue you can build up the church.
How did Jesus show kindness with his words?
John 4:7-15
7 There came a woman of Samaria to draw water. Jesus said to her, "Give Me a drink."
8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
9 Therefore the Samaritan woman said to Him, "How is it that You, being a Jew, ask me for a drink since I am a Samaritan woman?" (For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.)
10 Jesus answered and said to her, "If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, "Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water."
11 She said to Him, "Sir, You have nothing to draw with and the well is deep; where then do You get that living water?
12 "You are not greater than our father Jacob, are You, who gave us the well, and drank of it himself and his sons and his cattle?"
13 Jesus answered and said to her, "Everyone who drinks of this water will thirst again;
14 but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life."
15 The woman said to Him, "Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty nor come all the way here to draw."
Jesus showed kindness to a Samaritan woman

That is the kind of kindness we should show
People need to be showed kindness
Not just kindness & Goodness but
“EXTREME KINDNESS & GOODNESS”
When the prostitute walks in that door she doesn’t need judgment she needs “EXTREME KINDNESS & GOODNESS”
When that drug user walks in the doors he doesn’t need people to shun him he needs “EXTREME KINDNESS & GOODNESS”
When that person that walks in that door that doesn’t look or smell like we think they should they don’t need people to talk about them they need to be shown “EXTREME KINDNESS & GOODNESS”
The third thing that has to change is:
3) your actions
You can talk the kindest words in the world but unless they are followed by actions they are just meaningless words
You have to follow them up by actions
Let me give you an example
A person has not come to church for a while
You see them and say to them it’s good to see you again
They are probably thinking if you really missed me why didn’t you call me?
Words by themselves mean nothing they have to followed up by actions.
In Jesus’ life on this earth he didn’t just talk the talk he followed them up with actions
Mark 5:35-41
35 While He was still speaking, they came from the house of the synagogue official, saying, "Your daughter has died; why trouble the Teacher anymore?"
36 But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, said to the synagogue official, "Do not be afraid any longer, only believe."
(Explain)
37 And He allowed no one to accompany Him, except Peter and James and John the brother of James.
38 They came to the house of the synagogue official; and He saw a commotion, and people loudly weeping and wailing.
39 And entering in, He said to them, "Why make a commotion and weep? The child has not died, but is asleep."
40 They began laughing at Him. But putting them all out, He took along the child’s father and mother and His own companions, and entered the room where the child was.
41 Taking the child by the hand, He said to her, "Talitha kum!" (which translated means, "Little girl, I say to you, get up!").
You want to truly show the kindness And Goodness of God
Let it flow through you
First get a heart transplant from God
Then let it flow from out of your new heart to your new lip with words of kindness
And then the most important of all let your actions show God’s kindness and Goodness
Then and only then will you show an d receive
EXTREME KINDNESS AND GOODNESS

He is the keeper of Creation and the Creator of all!
He is the Architect of the universe and the Manager of all times.
He always was, He always is, and He always will be ...
unmoved, Unchanged, Undefeated, and never Undone!
He was bruised and brought healing!
He was pierced and eased pain!
He was persecuted and brought freedom!
He was dead and brought life!
He is risen and brings power!
He reigns and brings Peace!
The world can’t understand him,
The armies can’t defeat Him,
The schools can’t explain Him, and The leaders can’t ignore Him.
Herod couldn’t kill Him,
The Pharisees couldn’t confuse Him,
and The people couldn’t hold Him!
Nero couldn’t crush Him,
Hitler couldn’t silence Him,
The New Age can’t replace Him, and "Oprah" can’t explain Him away!
He is light, love, longevity, and Lord.
He is goodness, Kindness, Gentleness, and God.
He is Holy, Righteous, mighty, powerful, and pure.
His ways are right,
His word is eternal,
His will is unchanging, and His mind is on You.
He is your Savior,
He is your guide, and He is your peace!
He is your Joy,
He is your comfort,
He is your Lord, and He rules your life!
you serve Him because His bond is love,
His burden is light, and His goal for you is abundant life.
you follow Him because He is the wisdom of the wise,
the power of the powerful,
the ancient of days, the ruler of rulers, the leader of leaders, the overseer of the overcomers, and is to come. And if that seems impressive to you, try this for size.
His goal is a relationship with you!
He will never leave you,
never forsake you,
never mislead you,
never forget you,
never overlook you and
never cancel your appointment in His appointment book!
When you fall, He lifts you up!
When you fail, He forgives!
When you’re weak, He is strong!
When you’re lost, He is the way!
When you’re afraid, He is you’re courage!
When you stumble, He steadies you!
When you’re hurt, He heals you!
When you’re broken, He mends you!
When you’re blind, He leads you!
When you’re hungry, He feeds you!
When you face trials, He is with you!
When you face persecution, He shields you!
When you face problems, He comforts you!
When you face loss, He provides for you!
When you face Death, He carries you Home!
He is everything for everybody everywhere, every time, and every way.
He is God, He is faithful. You are His, and He is yours!
Remember this your Father in heaven can whip the father of this world.
So, if you’re wondering why I feel so secure, understand this...
He said it and that settles it.
God is in control, I am on His side,
and that means all is well with my soul.
Because we serve a God who is Kind and Good
