1. TRUTH EXISTS. (verses 18, 25)
a. There is truth about sin. Sin means to miss the mark, the standard of holiness. There is such a thing as right and wrong.
b. There is truth about judgment. (v. 32; 2:2) One day, we will give account of our sin before God. Even here on earth, we will have to suffer the consequences of our sin.
c. There is truth about salvation. Salvation only comes through Jesus Christ. (10:13; Acts 4:12)
2. TRUTH CAN BE KNOWN
a. Truth is known in God (v. 28)
b. Truth is known in the church (1 Timothy 3:15).
3. WICKED MEN SUPPRESS THE TRUTH. (v. 18)
The wickedness of man is designed to suppress the truth. (verses 24-30). They not only live wicked lives but they promote their wickedness above everything else. (v. 32)
4. GOD’S GREATEST DESIRE IS NOT TO CONDEMN THE WICKED BUT TO SAVE THEM.
a. This is why Jesus came to earth. (5:6-8)
b. This is why God is so patient. (2:4; 2 Peter 3:9)
c. God is the first and greatest evangelist.
5. GOD INVOLVES US IN THE WORK OF EVANGELISM
a. The first step in evangelism is to have the heart of God toward the lost. (10:1) How can we have the heart of God? Through prayer.
b. We must send others to preach the gospel. (10:14-15)
c. We must go. God will give us divine appointments. (1 Corinthians 3:15)
