(Sermon By: James White)
Jer 29:10-14
10 For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place. 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart. 14 And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
Don?t Get Comfortable In Captivity
(You?re Coming Out)
Tonight I hope to help someone remember that there is hope in your life. It?s hope that only can come through a power that is not of this world or of yourself, or of any person in this building, but it is a power that comes from only Christ Jesus. This message is to give hope to you who just feel like giving up on God. I am here to preach that if you will just turn to him with a made up mind, God will bring you out because that is the expected plan for you. This message is to give hope to you who hasn?t allowed God to take complete control of your life. I?m here to preach that if you will just surrender then God will make you into a man or woman that is coming out. This message is to give hope to you who hasn?t opened up and allowed God to fill you with the Holy Ghost. I?m here to preach that if you will just open up and allow the Holy Ghost to come upon you, then your coming out.
Tonight is a night of deliverence for somebody who is bound by sin. Tonight is a night of deliverence for somebody who is bound by depression. Tonight is a night of deliverance for somebody who is bound by the endless battle. God wants somebody to know that you need to live in expectation because the end is not yet, but get ready because he is bring you out.....
Tonight somebody is living in an unexpected ending when God is wanting you to live with an expected ending. Without God, you don?t know what?s ahead and how your going to make it through. All you?ve got is an unexpected ending, but you hear this preacher tonight, God is saying to this church and to the individuals that are struggling, you need to expect a good ending, and all you have to do is allow Him to show you the way. You better get ready, because something good is about to happen in this place.
The Israelites were in bondage for close to 70 years. This was different from their bondage in Egypt, it wasn?t as hard, but the problem was, they were not in the land that God had promised them. God did not intend for His people to stay couped up in a place that wasn?t their own. It?s time that somebody starts thinking about where they are going because God is getting ready to bring you out of the trial into a blessing that only he can give.
God sent Jeremiah to tell his people something. The first thing he said in Jer 29:10 was,
?For thus saith the LORD, That after seventy years be accomplished at Babylon I will visit you, and perform my good word toward you, in causing you to return to this place.? God was telling the children of Isreal, there was about to be a visitation.
Webster defines Visitation as a special dispensation of divine favor or retribution. To plainly put it, it is the process of going to see somebody at their house, but as it pertains to the children of Isreal it was more than just coming to their house.
In webster?s definition of visitation there are two big words. That is dispensation and retribution. I looked these words up and come up with this definition. It is a special distribution of divine favor and rewards for those who will invite the visitation. I believe God is getting ready to have a visitation in this place today. There is somebody that he wants to distribute some divine favor and rewards to. You have been away too long and he is wants you to know that the day of your visitation has come.
The great thing about the visitation was that it was some place other than their house. I believe there are some here tonight that is not in the house God intended for you, but if you will allow a visitation then he will change your life.
The world is out to destroy you. The devil is out to keep you from your day of visitation, because if he can keep you from the visitation God has in store for you then he has prevailed. But greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. It is your chance to receive something from God that you have been needing for a long time. Get ready because when you allow a visitation your coming out.
In the Today?s English Version Jer 29:11 ?I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.? God always has a plan for your life. Tonight you have come to this church and yes you may have been planning to come for some time, or maybe it was just a spur of the moment decision, either way, God knew exactly what He?s doing. Tonight you have come here because He wants you here so he can move you into a close relationship with Him.
His plan is working to bring to life the future you have always hoped for. I am talking about a future of joy and peace, and the only way you will find it is get full of the Holy Ghost.
Tonight this whole church needs a visitation. We need to get full of the Holy Ghost because that?s the only way to have joy and peace. It?s only going to come when we are full of the Holy Ghost.
I believe that most people that claim to be born again and are not happy is a result of religious bondage. Tonight there needs to be some deliverence from the bondage of being religious. Religious bondage is when somebody is claiming to be Spirit-filled and never renews what is in them. We all need a fresh baptism of the Holy Ghost, because that?s the only way you will ever come out.
Jeremiah prophesied these words in Jer 29:12-13 ?12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.?
Jeremiah was telling the people, the only reason you are getting this attention is because you have called upon him. But Jeremiah didn?t stop there, becasue merely calling on the name of the lord is not good enough, because you have to search for him with all your heart.
Tonight he is looking for somebody that will just forget about everything that has happened this week and search for Him with all their heart.
Closing
Jeremiah was telling the children of Isreal that they were coming out of the bondage they were so use to. Tonight I believe that I am preaching to some who have accepted their bondage as part of their walk with God, but let me tell you, It?s Not God?s Will That You Stay In Bondage.
The delivering power of Jesus Christ is here tonight, but you have to understand that you can?t be delivered until you get fed up with being in the bondage that has plagued you.
John 3:1-12
3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? 5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8 The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. 9 Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10 Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?
Today?s English Version
John 3:1-12
There was a Jewish leader named Nicodemus, who belonged to the party of the Pharisees. 2 One night he went to Jesus and said to him, "Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher sent by God. No one could perform the miracles you are doing unless God were with him."
3 Jesus answered, "I am telling you the truth: no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again."
4 "How can a grown man be born again?" Nicodemus asked. "He certainly cannot enter his mother’s womb and be born a second time!"
5 "I am telling you the truth," replied Jesus, "that no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit. 6 A person is born physically of human parents, but he is born spiritually of the Spirit. 7 Do not be surprised because I tell you that you must all be born again. 8 The wind blows wherever it wishes; you hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. It is like that with everyone who is born of the Spirit."
9 "How can this be?" asked Nicodemus.
10 Jesus answered, "You are a great teacher in Israel, and you don’t know this? 11 I am telling you the truth: we speak of what we know and report what we have seen, yet none of you is willing to accept our message. 12 You do not believe me when I tell you about the things of this world; how will you ever believe me, then, when I tell you about the things of heaven?
The New Birth is a coming out experience. Tonight is your night to just come out and get put back in where you belong.
