8. We Must Unwrap The Satanic Verses In The Quran.
a. The Evidence Presented.
Muslims frequently use the phrase "bring forth the proof". Well as we sometimes say, “Here’s the beef!”…
· Four early biographical writers of Muhammad’s life document this event.
Muslim writers like: Ibn Ishaq, Wakidi, Ibn Sa’d, and Tabari.
One Islamic book on Muhammad’s life provides the following…
"... Many of the traditionalists have recorded it with reference to the chains of its narrators…It is all the more strange that Ibn Hajar, a recognized authority on traditions insists on the truth of this report and says, "As we have mentioned above, three of its chains of narrators satisfy the conditions requisite for an authentic report."
· From The Quran.
There are three passages in the Quran that reference the event. These passages are recorded in the biographical material also.
>>> The first of the passages are found in chapter 53:19- 26, called "The Star".
>>> The second passage is in chapter 22:52, 53, called "The Pilgrimage"
>>> The third passage is chapter 17: 73 - 75 called "The Night Journey"…
"They sought to entice you from our revelations - they nearly did -hoping that you might invent some other scripture in our name, and thus become their trusted friend. Indeed had we not strengthened your faith, you might have made some compromise with them and thus incurred a double punishment in this life and in the next. Then you should have found none to help you against Us."
Key: All of these verses are mentioned in the biographical material. All of them were revealed in relation to Muhammad speaking Satan’s words.
· A Respected Islamic Scholar’s Commentary.
One of the greatest Islamic scholars who wrote a Tafsir was Zamakhshari. He commented on this event. Here are his writings, quoted from "The Quran and its Exegesis”…
“The occasion of the sending down of the present verse is the following: As the members of the tribe of the messenger of God turned away from him and took their stand against him and his relatives also opposed him and refused to be guided by what he brought to them, then, as a result of the extreme exasperation concerning their estrangement and as a result of the eager desire and longing that they be converted to Islam, the messenger of God sheltered the wish that nothing would come down to him that could make them shy away. Perhaps he should have been able to use that for the purpose of converting them and causing them to be dissuaded from their error and obstinacy. Now this wish continued in him until the sura called "The Star" (that is, Sura 53) came down. At that time he found himself with this wish in his heart regarding the members of his tribe. Then he began to recite, and when he came to God’s words "and Manat, the third, the other" (Sura 53:20), Satan substituted something in accordance with the wish which the messenger of God had sheltered, that is, he whispered something to him which would enable the messenger to announce his wish. In an inadvertent and misleading manner, his tongue hurried on ahead of him, so that he said…
"These (goddesses are the) exalted cranes. Their intercession (with God) is to be hoped for."...Yet, the messenger of God was not clear at this point until the protection of God "isma" reached him and he then became attentive again.
Some say that Gabriel drew his attention to it, or that Satan himself spoke those words and brought them to the people’s hearing. As soon as the messenger of God prostrated (for prayer) as the end of the sura, all who were present did it with him and felt pleased (that is, the unbelievers felt pleased that their goddesses had been accepted as intercessors with God.”
It must be pointed out again that the event is recorded by the earliest Islamic sources available on Muhammad’s life. And these men were devout Muslim scholars. They spent their lives studying, analyzing, and writing about Muhammad and Islam.
b. The Evidence Proves:
· That Muhammad spoke the satanic verses.
There are references to it in the Hadith also. No one, with an open mind and honest heart, can doubt the event.
Regarding these early Islamic scholars, William Muir writes in "The Life of Muhammad" that…"…Scandalized at the lapse of their prophet into so flagrant a concession to idolatry... It is hardly possible to conceive how the tale, if not founded in truth, could ever have been invented."
· His challenge failed – Anyone could produce something like the Quran.
Muhammad claimed that his Quran was above human invention. Well, we see that Satan was able to do so.
Galatians 1:7,8 “…There are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accused.”
Remember that this verse was spoken about 45 A.D.!
· Muhammad life had a strange relationship with Satan.
Compare this event to Jesus’ life in Matthew 4. He overcame Satan’s temptation!
· It begs the thought, how many other words were influenced by Satan?
Why would God make light of a prophet speaking Satan’s words as inspired? Didn’t God command in the Old Testament that false prophets should be put to death?
· In Matthew 24:11 Jesus predicts that false prophets would come and mislead many.
Today there are 1.8 billion people currently being misled by their false prophet!
Deuteronomy 13:1 - 5
This is exactly what Muhammad did - he advocated the worship of pagan deities as intercessors with God. Later, after Muhammad admitted his mistake and took back the words, he had the audacity to say that God made light of the event! God has never made light of false prophets.
I ask…>>>Which of the Old Testament prophets ever spoke the words of Satan? >>>Didn’t the prophets persist to speak the truth, and never compromising the word of God to gain peace and converts as Muhammad did?
This is a scathing indictment on Muhammad and Islam!
9. We Must Untie The Reasons For The Hatred In Islam Towards Jews and Christians.
Just to give you a little background of the period…
Muhammad bin Abdullah now known as the prophet of Islam!
In Mecca where Muhammad grew up, Jews were very respected and highly liked even though they were small in number. But at this time (about 600 A.D.) it was the Christians and Jews that struggled to live together in the cities of Arabia, because the Christians blamed the Jews for killing Messiah and the Jews responded by saying, “Messiah had not yet come.”
Key: Before his first so-called revelation in 610 A.D. in a cave with the angel Gabriel, Muhammad got along with Jews wonderfully, even doing business with many of them. This is a historical fact…before Islam came to be, Jews and Arabs got along very well throughout the Middle East region!
a. His 12 Years of Preaching In Mecca.
After his conversion to Islam in Mecca, he spent much of his time acting as a priest, fasting, teaching and worship. He only had one wife for those 12 years and most importantly, not one verse was given to him on the subject of Jihad.
Key: Muhammad received Quranic verses for about 22 years.
This is known as the when only Allah gives “peace” verses to Muhammad. It is a fact that during his stay in Mecca, every one of the Quranic revelations was positive towards the Jews. At this point, the Quran sounded very Jewish because about 7% of the Quran is filled with stories from the Bible.
Here Are Examples of His Kindness Towards The Jews and Christians:
· The Jews are recognized as Allah’s chosen people.
Surah 2:47 “O Children of Israel! Remember My favor which I bestowed upon you and that I preferred you over mankind…”
· Allah’s protection of Jews From Pharaoh.
Surah 28:4-6
· Allah exalts the Jewish prophets.
Surah 5:20 “And when Musa (Moses) said to his people: O my people! Remember the favor of Allah to you when He made Prophets among you, made you kings and gave you what He had not given to any other.”
Key: Muhammad used these verses that came from the O.T. to convince the Jews that their God was the same God of the Quran!
· Allah would be kind to Jews and Christians who believed in God.
Surah 2:62 “Verily! Those who believe and those who are Jews and Christians and Sabians (North Iraq today), whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day and does righteous good deeds shall have their reward with their Lord, on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.”
This verse did not require them to become Muslims or convert to Islam! These groups were already practicing all of this! Isn’t interesting that this verse they are not infidels or enemies of Allah!
· Allah blessed both Jews and Christians who lived by the Bible.
Surah 5:66 “If only they stood fast by the Law, the Gospel and all the revelations that was sent to them from their Lord, they would have enjoyed happiness from every side.” But things would change soon!
The dominant Arab tribes tried to get him to abandon Islam. They even offered to make him a very wealthy man if he would give up on his so-called revelations!
Surah 8:30 “And remember when the disbelievers plotted against you (in Mecca) to imprison you, or kill you, get you out; they were plotting and Allah too was plotting; and Allah is the best of those who plot.”
From this point… it’s very important to know that when Muhammad left Mecca for Medina, Islam drastically chances.
The evidence seems to show that Muhammad left Mecca a very bitter and broken man. His preaching a bland brand of Islam didn’t work (not 1 killing or statement of hate). And eventually every group including Arabs rejected him and tried to kill him! So he leaves Mecca after virtually no growth to Islam.
As Dr. Omar Farouk writes in his book “The Arab and Islam”, “The migration of the prophet of Islam from Mecca to Medina is of great importance in Islamic history. It marks a great revolution in the nature of Islam. Islam went from a religious and spiritual revelation to a political agenda.”
b. His Years of Persecuting In Medina.
This is an important part to the growth of Islam. He was well received in this booming city and many people became his followers. His first big success was with 2 warring Arab tribes that had been at it for years. And they become converts and there is peace. Then with this new power he set out to convert the Jews first mainly because Medina had the largest population of Jews of any Arab city.
He now believed that converting Jews to Islam would be very profitable for his gain. It is during this time that Muhammad slowly tried to get them on his side.
But The Jews and Christians Recognized Several Problems…
· The name Allah was nowhere to be found in the O.T.
· This name was used in pre-Islamic periods and it referred to one of 360 idols including the moon god.
· They realized many contradictions that were unacceptable to them.
By now the Jews were starting to challenge him and so they asked Muhammad for a sign to validate his revelations and obviously he couldn’t come up with any.
Surah 29:50,51 “Say: The signs are only with Allah and I am only a plain warner. Is it not sufficient for them that we have sent down to you the Book (The Quran) which is recited to you.”
John 2:18,19 “Then Jews demanded of Him, What miraculous sign can show us to prove your authority to do all this? Jesus answered them; destroy this temple and I will raise it again in three days.”
Key: Any prophecies claimed by Muslims are actually referring to Jesus or the Holy Spirit!
From here Jews mocked, insulted and spit on Muhammad. They even tried to poison him once.
After about a year of this more revelations start coming to Muhammad and now they are strikingly different then the ones back in Mecca.
I want to quickly mention 3 major events that most scholars seem to think demonstrates how bad it got for Jews…all because the Jews would not embrace Islam…
· The destruction of The Nadir Tribe in 625 A.D.
He destroyed their Date Palms that were their livelihood. He demolished their village and took every bit of money and livestock they had.
And Surah 59 “The Gathering” is given to Muhammad!
· The massacre of the men of The Qurayzah Tribe in 627 A.D.
The angel Gabriel comes to Muhammad and says… “…Why don’t you get your sword and the Jihad will continue…the angels of Allah never put away their sword…Allah has commanded you to go to the children of Qurayzah and I am going before you to them and I will shake their village.”
After 25 days of fighting the Jews surrender. But that wasn’t enough for him; he helped murder anywhere from 800 to 900 Jews men by making the men dig huge trenches. Then he commanded them to get in them where he and his men cut their necks with swords and then let them bleed to a quick death!
Side note: Doesn’t this remind you of the mass graves that are currently being uncovered in Iraq?
The tribe’s woman and children were sold into slavery and Islamic history says that he regularly took 20% of the profit and then divided the rest among his soldiers!
· Choosing a slave from the village of Khaybar in 628 A.D.
After he took this Jewish village, Muhammad had two young girls walk before him and then chose one of them by taking off his coat and then placed it over the shoulders of one girl. That was a signal to his men that everyone keeps his hands off her, she was claimed as Muhammad’s slave!
Notice again that Muhammad attacks first and the Jews only try to defend themselves! And notice that he thinks God is on his side by telling him what to do!
By 629 A.D. there was zero tolerance for any Judaism in Arabia. Muslim historian Ibn Kathir in his work “The Beginning Of The End” writes, “During a sermon in his Mosque he declared that he would destroy the Jewish community in Arabia and that he would clean the land from the evil of Jews and Judaism in the name of Allah.”
Who said this next statement… “Today, I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator; by defending myself against the Jews, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.” …Adolf Hitler
Now Notice The Changes in the Quran:
· Allah curses the Jewish people.
Surah 5:78 “Those Children of Israel who disbelieved were cursed by the tongue of David and Jesus and Mary. That was because they disobeyed Allah…”
But remember back in Surah 2:47 they were blessed!
· Allah transformed Jews into monkeys and pigs as punishment.
Surah 5:60 “…Regarding the recompense from Allah; those Jews who incurred the curse of Allah and His wrath…He transformed into monkeys and swine’s…”
But remember earlier in Mecca God was protecting them.
What would we think if Jesus said something like this?
· Jews and Christians must become Muslims.
Surah 3:85 “And whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted of Him and in the hereafter he will be one of the losers.”
But yet just 2 years earlier Jews and Christians were only required to believe in one God!
· Jews changed the Books of God.
Surah 5:13 “They (the Jews) changed the words from their right places and have abandoned a good part of the message that was sent to them.”
But wait just a minute; in Mecca they were encouraged to read and teach their books.
There’s not a shred of evidence that changes ever happened! The burden is on the Muslim to prove this point!
· Jews are the cause for the wars and trouble on earth.
Surah 5:64 “We have put enmity and hatred amongst them (The Jews) till the Day of Resurrection. Every time they kindle the fire of war, Allah extinguishes it; and they strive to make mischief on all the earth.”
Article 22 from the Hamas (PLO) Covenant… “They (the Jews) stood behind World War 1…and formed the League of Nations through which they could rule the world. They were behind World War II, through which they made huge financial gains…There is no war going on anywhere without them having their finger in it.”
On November 6, 2004 – 26 prominent Saudi religious scholars urged Iraqis to support militants waging holy war against the U.S and Israel.
They said in an open letter (on their website) to the Iraqi people of the upcoming battle at Fallujah was going to bring, "…Great damage to the Iraqis and give a free service to the Jews who are infiltrating into Iraq and to the coalition forces which exploit differences to consolidate their domination."
This point has been taught in Islamic schools from kindergarten to collages over the centuries and it is now imbedded in the Arab culture! What a lie Satan has used to cause such damage to a people!
· Islam teaches it is blasphemy to say, “I am a child of God.”
Surah 5:18 “And the Jews and the Christians say: “we are the children of Allah and His loved ones.” Why then does He punish you for your sins? You are but human beings of those He created…”
· Jews claimed to have killed the Messiah.
Surah 4:157 “And because of their sayings, “We killed Messiah…the messenger of Allah…”
Now think about this claim…Jews didn’t even believe the Messiah had come! Nowhere can one find that they boasted about it!
I want to close with this is a very important point… Islamic tradition and scholarship teaches that the later Quranic verses cancel out the early verses!
So peace and mercy is out & persecution and murder is in! So today when Muslims talk about being a peaceful religion, they don’t know their own rules of interpretation!
