Mt 9:37 Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
Mt 9:38 Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
It takes more than this to have a successful harvest!

IT TAKES MORE THAN THE RIGHT LOCATION
Hunting=
I was set up right in the middle of the migration path for the deer!
40 the night before
7 the next morning
I was in the right area for “any” deer
I was on public ground
I was hidden in my lay and wait spot
Still no deer

We are right on the edge of a very affluent neighborhood
Right on the Pendleton parkway
Right in town
At a location with plenty of property and room to grow and also room to park!
We are in a county where I am estimating 40 thousand people live
Still no growth in our church…. It must take more than the right location
IT TAKES MORE THAN GOOD TIMING!

I was hunting during deer season
I was at the hunting ground the night before!
I was awake and laying in wait for the deer long before the sun came up
It was cold outside
It was the right time, why haven’t I gotten a deer? I wondered!

The fields are white unto harvest now!
Souls are perishing now!
The bible says, that “Today is the day of Salvation!”
The bible says that the lord is not slow in keeping his promises
The end is near and the lord is coming soon! Surely this is the right time, why aren’t things happening the way that I would like them to?
It takes more than the right time!
IT TAKES MORE THAN A PLENTYFULL HARVEST FIELD!

The night before the season opened, I saw at least 40 deer..
Some were bucks!
The morning of the hunt, I saw 7
Why haven’t I gotten a deer?
The harvest is there, I only wanted one deer…. Evidently it takes more than a plentifull harvest!

The bible says that the harvest is plentiful
There is no shortage of souls that are damned and on their way to hell, just go to the grocery store, or the next flaming Gorge days out in the park, and take a look!

IT TAKES MORE THAN THE RIGHT LABORERS OR THE RIGHT HUNTER!
I was a willing and eager hunter evidently it takes more than a willing hunter!
In the church, there are many willing harvesters evidently it takes more than the right worker in the church!
IT TAKES MORE THAN THE RIGHT ABILITIES OR GIFTS AND GRACES.

I have been trained in the military in how to fire a rifle
I went to the range and practiced
I sighted in my rifle
I read books,
I talked to people
I have a degree of common sence
I was quite
I lay still as I waited, I was doing all the right things… still no deer evidently it takes more than abilities and gifts and graces

we have been trained in how to share Jesus
we go to Sunday school and receive teaching
we hear the pastor preach on Sunday
we read our bibles, and on and on…
why is the harvest not arriving? Evidently it takes more than human abilities and gifts
WITHOUT GOD THERE WILL STILL BE NO HAVEST!
Without God, we can do nothing!
We can have all of those things and still spin our wheels!
He is the one who can bring all of those things together!
GOD HAS GIVEN US A GIFT!

As the sun settled on the horizon, and I was ready to give up hope for yet another day, I noticed several sets of ears floating across my field of vision on the left side!
I had been praying through all of these points, and thanking God for what he was teaching me.
In His timing, he provided what I had been searching for!
A successful hunt, and the harvest of a beautiful animal!

God has also given us a gift!
Many visitors!
Mature, and devoted godly people!
Willing hearts
Fellowship and new friends!
They are pleased to be here!
They are thankful for the warm welcome that you have given them
Many of them are hurting, and in need of comfort
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN?
The answer is simple. God is working! His ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts.
I don’t claim to understand all that is going on, but I do know that He can work all things together for good!
He has given us a gift! He is taking all the right things and putting them together!
(Tell the story of the KFC commercial with the two gifts for the two kids… dad comes in with the gifts and the kids take the gifts and leave the dad standing there with his arms out and no hug. )
a gift brings responsibility!
Responsibility to thank the giver!
And responsibility to take care of the gift!
Call to prayer! GOD HAS TO BRING IT ALL TOGETHER! PRAY THAT HE WILL DO EXACTLY THAT!
