Summary: A Study and Reference Guide. For ages 19 thru adult. What we all should know.

Who is the Antichrist; A Study and Reference Guide. No matter who you may ask, you will recieve many different answers, this is my interpretation . Judas, not likely nor any resurrected human. 1.Calling Him and Jesus “the Morning Star” not likely. Morning Star signifies Jesus Only. Rev 22:16, Rev 2:28, in scripture only twice.

2.The Dragon The word “Satan” is used 24 times in the Old Testament. In Job (Job 1:6) and Zech (Job 3:1) it has the prefixed definite article. In all cases but one when the article is omitted it is used in a general sense. This one exception is 1Ch-21: 1 (compare 2Sa-24: 1), where the word is generally conceded to be used as a proper name. This meaning is fixed in New Testament times. We are thus enabled to note in the term “Satan” (and Devil) the growth of a word from a general term to an appellation and later to a proper name. All the other names of Satan save only these two are descriptive titles. Tempter (Mat 4:5; 1Th 3:5); Beelzebub (Mat-12: 24); Enemy (Mat-13: 39); Evil One (Mat 13:19, Mat-13: 38; 1Jo-2: 13, 1Jo-2: 14; 1Jo-3: 12, and particularly 1Jo-5: 18); Belial (2Co-6: 15); Adversary (ἀντίδικος, antídikos), (1Pe-5:8); Deceiver (literally “the one who deceives”) (Rev 12:9); Dragon (Great) (Rev-12: 3); Father of Lies (John- 8:44); Murderer (Joh-8: 44); Sinner (1Jo-3:8) - these are isolated references occurring from 1 to 3 times each. In the vast majority of passages (70 out of 83) either Satan or Devil is used. Satan is not the antichrist, proven in Revelations. Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast [Antichrist] and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

3. Leviathan; word used only 4 times in scripture; Possibly a crocodile Job 41; Psa_104:26“The crooked serpent” Isa_27:1 Figurative Psa74: 14, never used in describing the antichrist. Leviathan, not the antichrist.

4. Apollyon, Abaddon; In the New Testament the word occurs once (Rev 9:11), the personalization becoming sharp. Abaddon is here not the world of the dead, but the angel who reigns over it. Never used as a name for the antichrist. The Greek equivalent of his name is given as Apollyon. One other feature of Old Testament usage is worthy of consideration as throwing light upon Rev 9:11. Abaddon and the accompanying terms “Death” and Sheol are personified (as in Job 28:22) and represented as living beings that speak and act (compare Rev 6:8).

(1) Since Apollyon is a personification he is not to be identified with Satan (compare Rev 9:1 where Satan seems to be clearly indicated) or with any other being to whom historical existence and definite characteristics are ascribed.

In three instances Abaddon is parallel with Sheol (Job 26:6; Pro 15:11; Pro 27:20). In one instance it is parallel with death, in one with the grave and in the remaining instance the parallel phrase is “root out all mine increase” (Job 28:22; Psa 88:11; Job 31:12). So, Apollyon, Abaddon, not the antichrist.

5. Concerning {Both Rise from the Dead "the God of his fathers.”} Heb 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment. Nowhere in scripture have I found that the antichrist was a risen being. Dan 11:36 The wilful king here, though primarily Antiochus, is antitypic ally and mainly Antichrist, the seventh head of the seven-headed and ten-horned beast of Rev. 13:1-18, and the "beast" of Armageddon (Rev 16:13, Rev 16:16; Rev 19:19).

6, The Assyrian; The antichrist is not Jewish nor does he come from the 12 tribes of Israel. This also must include the [13th] Tribe of Levi, for it is the priestly tribe, set apart from the 12. [Reference Rev 7:5 Rev 7:8 compare to Num 1:21 thru Num 1:47 But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them. If you notice the Tribe of Dan is not mentioned in Revelations 7-5 thru 7-8 as being sealed, Dan being disobedient to God by idolatry will also be saved in the end, so that Gods word will be fulfilled.

The antichrist will sign a 7-year peace treaty with Israel and break the treaty at the end of 3.5 years. It was the Assyrians who conquered and exiled the northern kingdom of Israelites, with the capital at Samaria, resulting in the "Lost Ten Tribes" of Israel. The prophets Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Hosea, Micah, Nahum, Zephaniah and Zechariah all refer to Assyria.

Rev 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: Rev 13:17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Rev 14:9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Rev 16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image. Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

Antichrist:

Denies the Father and the Son Denies the incarnation of Christ, Spirit of, Deceit, a characteristic of prevalent in apostolic times

[1Jo-4: 3; 2Jo-1: 7; 1Jo-2: 22; 1Jo-2: 18; 2Jo-1: 7;]

Isa 14:25 that I will break the Assyrian {coming from the old Assyrian empire, Muslim countries} {See Nineveh and Babylon} in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders. 7. The Son of Satan, not likely Satan has no power to overshadow a woman as The Holy Spirit did with Mary. Satan cannot create only destroy. 2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first [differences in opinion on weather this signifies the Rapture or the apostasy of the Church], and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; [see notes below on meaning]

John 17:12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

The utter loss of the soul or of final happiness in a future state; future misery or eternal death. The impenitent sinner is condemned to final perdition. The word “perdition” occurs in the English Bible 8 times (Joh-17: 12; Phi-1: 28; 2Th-2: 3; 1Ti-6: 9; Heb-10: 39; 2Pe-3: 7; Rev-17: 11, Rev-17: 18). In each of these cases it denotes the final state of ruin and punishment, which forms the opposite to salvation. The Son of Perdition is a name given to Judas (Joh-17: 12) and to the Antichrist (2Th-2: 3). In no way are these two connected. This is the well-known Hebrew idiom [expression] by which a person typically embodying a certain trait or character or destiny is called the son of that thing. The name therefore represents Judas and the Antichrist.

Isa 14:26 This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations. Nations from the old Assyrian Empire include, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Saudi Arabia, just to mention a few. The better question here is not who he is but who he isn’t. Rev. Ars
