I believe in these last days God is fulfilling this verse amazingly right before our very eyes!
Daniel 12:4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words and seal up the book until the time of the end; many will go to and fro and knowledge will increase.”
Isaiah 29:14 “…I will show that human wisdom is foolish and even the most brilliant people lack understanding.”
2 Timothy 3:7 “Always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.”
We live in a time that is filled with unhealthy learning, unhelpful wisdom and unbelievable knowledge. The rate that knowledge is doubling and tripling is frightening! But with all this learning, it’s not getting us as a country closer to God and the Bible!
I kind of feel like David when he said in Psalm 26:7 “I can’t voice it enough about God wondrous works!” DKV (Dave Kinney’s Version)
So now let’s pull together some loose ends and look at:
1. Satan’s Replacement Theology Began Overthrowing The Absolute.
Evolution can be described as replacing God with the roulette wheel and with this one turn has man broke with God and history.
I’m convinced that this theory would have died out by the late 1800’s had not the atheistic academic world latched on to it. Because I could make a case that evolution was not catching on and overwhelming science up to Darwin’s death. In fact I’ve given you some insight to the doubts Darwin was having with regards to fossils and certain parts of the body.
Up until the 1800’s science and religion were compatible with each other in most areas.
To prove this, in 1857, two years before Darwin would write his famous book of “Origins”, Louis Agassiz, the leading Zoologist and Father of biology was a professor of at Harvard, said this about the living world…“It shows premeditation, wisdom, greatness…omniscience, providence…all these facts…proclaim aloud the One God whom man may know, and natural history must, in good time become the analysis of the thoughts of the Creator of the Universe, as manifested in the animals and vegetable kingdoms, as well as the organic world.”
Darwin (1809- 1882) was born into a well to do middle class family in England. His father was a doctor and tried to get his young son to go the same way. Darwin went to Edinburgh to become a doctor, was just an average student. Then he went to Cambridge to study theology and become a pastor. Later Darwin said that those 3 years were wasted years. Later he would study Biology and really enjoy this field of science.
The men that Darwin associated with for most of his life were creationist with very prestigious positions in science and history. Great geologists like Henslow and Sedgwick, both where pioneers in their field and highly sought after to study under at Cambridge.
Then in 1831 something happened to his life …for 5 years he was on a boat journey and expedition that took him almost around the world studying biology, surveying the small islands along the way. Even as he started out on the ship called “Beagle”, he said of himself, “I did not then in the least doubt the strict and literal truth of every word in the Bible.”
He continues, “While on board the Beagle I was quite orthodox and remember being heartily laughed at by several of the officers for quoting the Bible as a unanswerable authority on some point of morality.”
It was on this journey that seeds were sown to sprout the daisies of doubt in Genesis, the lilies of lies in evolution and the violets of vices in society! And the roulette wheel continues to turn on us and warp a whole generation later!
This is amazing...in Sacramento California there is a street called “Darwin” and on this street according to the U.S. census taken of all the residents on that street showed…“Every fourth family is presided over by a single parent. 3 out of 4 adults on the street had never married, yet 5 dozen unmarried young women between 16 and 24 already are mothers.”
This is a snapshot of most cities in America - a family portrait that displays a new absolute and a new definition for family! Folks, evolution has painted a large portion of the canvas!!
In a great book called, “Darwin: the Life of a Tormented Evolutionist” said about turning God’s creation into…“a seething slum, with everyone scrambling to get out, rushing to break from the rat-pack…most remained trapped on the breadline, destined to struggle futilely…nature is aborted…her failures discarded like the breeder’s runts to rot on some domestic dump.”
Satan’s replacement theology has begun overthrowing the absolutes we used to hold sacred! But on the brighter side…
2. Scripture’s Radical Truth Blossoms Over The Ages.
Now I know that God didn’t create anything without a purpose, but mosquitoes and cockroaches come real close.
I think that most people are unaware of the fact that the Bible, although written 1000’s of years ago, contains many scientific accurate statements that are impossible to explain apart from a supernatural God communicating to man.
We have to ask ourselves as we go through just some of these incredible statements, “How could these writers know science instantly when it takes many lifetimes to understand?
a. Genesis 2:7 “God formed man of the dust of the ground.”
Scientists used to mock the Bible on the simplicity of this statement. To construct complex molecules, proteins and 60 trillion cells out of the dirt.
In 1982 NASA’s Ames Research Center in Pasadena found the very single elements in the human body that exists in the soil. The scientist said at the time, “We are just beginning to learn. The Bible’s scenario for creation of life turns out to be not far off the mark.”
b. Genesis 1:1 “God created the heavens and the earth.”
Until 1950 most scientists believed that the universe had always existed in some form or another. New discoveries since 1950 have proven that the universe had a point of origin, that it had a definite beginning.
Dr. P. Dirac, a Nobel Prize winner from Cambridge University wrote… “It seems certain that there was a definite time of creation.”
c. Genesis 15:5 “Look now towards the heavens and count the stars if you are able number them…”
In 1925, the now famous astronomer Edwin Hubble used the new one-hundred-inch mirrored telescope on Mount Wilson, the largest in the world at that time. He saw whole new galaxies more than 6 million trillion miles away!
In just the last 20 years science has now catalogued over 10 billion galaxies such as our Milky Way.
Just in our own Milky Way galaxy, we have over 2 hundred million stars.
d. Genesis 1:6,7 “…And God made the firmament and divided the water which was under the firmament from the water which is above the firmament…”
God separated the water from the earth and the heavens!
In 1908 in the northern part of Siberia a fanatic explosion took place that could be seen 36 miles away and the seismic shocks could be felt a round the world. A huge meteorite weighing in at 30,000 tons hit the earth. Researchers found that the meteorite was a huge block of ice that released energy close to a 12-megaton nuclear bomb.
Job 38: 28-31
How could job a man who lives somewhere in hot Saudi Arabia know this kind of information!
e. Isaiah 40:22 “It is He (God) that sits upon the circle of the earth…”
Christopher Columbus was a great Christian man and serious student of the Bible. He was ridiculed by most of his peers because of his desire to sail to the America. Most were sure that he would fall off the end of the earth.
He wrote in his journal, “I prayed to the most merciful Lord about my hearts desire, and He gave the spirit and the intelligence for the task – seafaring, astronomy, geometry, arithmetic, skill in drafting spherical maps…It was the Lord who put into my mind (I could feel His hand upon me) the fact that it would be possible to sail from here to the Indies. All who heard of my project rejected it with laughter, ridiculing me…”
f. Ecclesiastes 11:3 “When the clouds are heavy, the rain come down.” NLT
People who lived 2500 years ago had no understanding of the cycles of weather; called hydrological cycles, that govern evaporation, cloud formation, thunder and lightning.
Throughout history, most people lives far from the oceans and had no understanding of the great oceans that cover over 70 % of the earth.
Ecclesiastes 1:7 “All the rivers run into the sea, yet the sea is not full. To the place from which the rivers come, there they return again.”
Job 37:16 “Do you understand how He balances the clouds with wonderful perfection?” NLT
g. Ecclesiastes 1:6 “The wind goes towards the south and returns around to the north…”
Do you realize that king Solomon just describes a very complex circular wind pattern that determines the weather throughout the earth?
Job 28:24-26
This statement is amazing because Meteorologists at the University of Arizona did not know that the weights of the wind and water greatly determine weather patterns until 1945.
h. Psalm 8:8 “The birds of the air and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas.”
King David is mentioning the huge currents that drive the oceans around the world. How would he know that in every ocean is a current that is driven by extremely deep under currents?
Take the massive Gulf Stream in the south; this huge stream of underwater current is 5,000 times larger than the Mississippi River. This underway pathway is what warms most of the Atlantic Ocean.
In 1996 CNN did a special on the recent discovery of a massive pathway of water flowing beneath the Pacific Ocean. This path that the ocean takes warms all of the pacific and creates massive underwater storms that help to keep the ocean from becoming stagnant.
Job 38:16 “Have you entered the springs of the sea? Or have you walked in search of the depth?”
Job is mentioning that huge fresh water springs feed into the oceans around the world!
Psalm 104:24 “O Lord, how manifold are your works! In wisdom you have made them all.”
