Psalm 18
The superscription of this psalm tells us what was going on in the life of David. This psalm can also be found in the historical book of 2 Samuel in the 22nd chapter. In this study I will approach this psalm from a prophetical standpoint and not historical.
The Rejected Prophet
Psalm 18:1-3
Jesus trusted God the Father at all times and with everything. No matter the situation or problem Jesus knew that God was in control.
Psalm 18:4-15
Jesus was tormented on the cross for our sins. The very ones He created were the ones mocking and abusing Him. As Jesus was dieing on the cross He cried out, ¡§My God, my God, why have you forsaken me¡¨? The sky became black and the earth trembled as the Son of God died while bearing the sins upon the world.
The Royal Priest
Psalm 18:20-31
There are three things about the Royal Priest found here:

The Returning Potentate
Yesterday Jesus was the Rejected Prophet, today He is the Reigning Priest, and tomorrow He is returning as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
Psalm 18:32-50
At the battle of Armageddon Jesus will reclaim His earthly kingdom where He will reign as King. Satan and those who followed him will be destroyed and God will be with His children forever and ever.
