TOPIC: CAN I RECEIVE GOD’S BLESSINGS?
SCRIPTURE READING: GEN. 12: 1 – 4
[1] Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
[2] And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
[3] And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
[4] So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
Greetings to you all in the precious name of Our Lord Jesus Christ. I welcome you all to Freedom of Christ Church and let me assure you that you are not here by mistake. The most high God send you here for a purpose and He send me as a servant to confess to you that it is your time to be blessed. Oh yeah! On your way to your sit I want you to give five people a high five and make a very special announcement that “IT IS MY TIME TO BE BLESS, BECAUSE GOD CAN BLESS ME”
If you don’t make the special announcement the devil will think you don’t know what time is it. “IT IS MY TIME TO BE BLESS”
If you don’t confess it the devil will think he has silence you!
It doesn’t matter if no one believes you, but I confess to you “It’s your season of Blessing.
They might think you are crazy but let the heaven and earth know that it is your season of blessing.
The Bible declare in the book of Eccl. 3: 1 that” To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. It when further in verse 4 and said there is a time to weep and a time to laugh. I believe you have been through the season and time of lacking, weeping and crying for a purpose. But I have a special announcement; those seasons are over because there is a change in the air. God is transforming every area of your life. Your season of barrenness is over; it is your time to be blessed.
The word of God for FOCC Family is that: I WILL BLESS THEE.
Can I explain that? When God said I would bless you, it means I will bless you. It means I He is able and more than able to transform your life from poverty to prosperity. I will bless thee means, you will struggle, toil, lack, suffer, thirst no more.
I will bless you thee means I will empower you, enable you to succeed, prosper, fertile and live long.
You might have been wondering that can God bless me when I am in this terrible situation. Yes God can and will bless you because it’s only God that can bestow His blessing upon you no matter how terrible the situation may be even though you did not deserve it. God doesn’t usually bless us because we deserve it but He blesses because He is a gracious God. He blesses because His mercies endures forever. He blessed Jacob the heater, David, Peter and had mercy on Rahab the adulterer because He is gracious. The bible says Psalm 30:5 “For His anger endureth but for a moment, in his favour is life… Some people seems to think that blessing can be earn thought their own effort but I am here to tell you that it’s not by power or by might but by my spirit says the Lord and Ps. 127: 1 says “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain. In ICorth. 3:6 Paul said, “I have planted, Apollos watered but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that plant ant thing, neither he that waters but God that giveth the increase. Amen somebody. That tells us that it’s only God that controls blessings.
God, in His grace blesses his people despite the situation, despite their sins and despite opposition if only we can answer his call as Abraham did whenever he calls. I would like us to realise that whenever God call something is about to happen that will transform our life totally but too many people resist the call of God. If we choose to answer His call He will bless, transform and empower us to prosper. John 1: 12 says, “To all who received Him, He gave the power to become children of God”
God will bestow His abundant blessing on us if only we can answer Him when he calls.
How do we answer his call you may wonder? – Just obey the rules in your bible and follow His instructions when he speaks. In our text, Abraham obey the Lord and departed with immediate effect. If you want to be successful and prosperous, you will have to be obedience. When we are called, we are been called from
- Labour to rest,
- Death to life,
- lackness to blessing,
- Stagnancy to growth,
- Sorrow to joy,
- Barrenness to fruitfulness,
- Poverty to prosperity,
- Bondage to freedom,
- Darkness to light and
- From CURSES TO BLESSING!
Let us all MOVE OUT form where we are to where God wants us to be. Abraham move out to the unknown future through the grace of God, Paul forgot the past and Jabez moved out of his generational curses and ask the Lord to bless him indeed. A lot of us want God’s bless but we still like what we used to have and do what we use to do. If we want to experience the blessing of most High God we need to move out of old religion and old life, do something different and new and take some risks.
Finally,
God can bless you if you can ask him to bless you indeed like JABEZ.
I Chronicles 4: 9 – 10
Whatever you want God to give you in life have to be through prayer. The way to get breakthrough us through prayer. Jabez moved out of his past and prayed to God that I need you to bless me indeed. Jabez did not say, make me rich, buy me a car etc but he said “Oh God, that you would bless me!
I am here to tell you that what you need in life is God’s blessings. In I most situation, God always say I will bless thee
- Gen 1: 26 said …He blesses them…
- Pay your tithe and I will bless you
- I will open the windows of heaven and pour you out my blessings
- In blessing I will bless you.
I want you to realise that with blessing come victory, prosperity, healing, deliverance, growth, expansion, joy and everything you need in life. If we ask for his blessing, he will bless us. Not just blessing but an indeed blessing. God is going to give us indeed blessing. You will be blessed, FOCC will be blessed, and our nation will be blessed. It is our time to be blessed. We are serving a God who is able and can bless us. He is able to give abundantly exceedingly above all that we ask or think.
It is blessing time in our church, marriages, business, careers etc.
