Harvest time brings great joy not only to the harvesters, but to the sowers as well. It is the most awaited time for farmers who with hope expecting much fruits for their much labor. They are worthy to receive the visible fruits of what they have sown; surely, it’s the prize of their hard work. We firmly believe that no man would like to overlook a remarkable harvest, and no man in his sound mind wants to avoid a joyful harvest.
The word harvest in the Bible reminds us of many unforgettable things and its significant usages will stir our awareness to take a closer look on many areas of our lives. It makes us aware concerning the principle of sowing and reaping. It will move our sensitivity to realize some hidden sins in our lives. It will also intensify our fear regarding the inevitable judgment of the ungodly before God, the righteous Judge. Harvest time is always a dreadful day for wicked people, but for the righteous, it is always a blessing and a delight of soul.
(I) The Outcome Of Indifferent Attitude
John 4:35 Say not ye, There are yet four months…
What the Lord said to His disciple is a very important passage in the Bible, especially to all mission-minded local Churches of today.
-Indifference is a fruit of questionable philosophy
-Indifference blunts our awareness
-Indifference blurs our spiritual vision
-Indifference obscures our way to success
-Indifference subdues our real purpose
-Indifference robs our opportunities
Indifference provokes our hearts to go astray, but charity shows the big difference.
People who have indifferent attitude never reach extraordinary achievements in life. Attitude has a great role in every one’s glorious success or humiliating failure.
(II) Could Be Seen Through The Eyes Of Jesus
John 4:35
Sometimes we tend to overlook important matters that need to be taken care of because of doubtful viewpoint in life. There are things which could only be seen through the eyes of Jesus. In fact, many innocent people have been neglected and destroyed because of others’ wrong concept. A misunderstood person is like a shattered image projected by a wrong perspective. In short, he is a victim of questionable viewpoint.
(III) Teamwork Is Needful
John 4:36-38 I Corinthians 3:5-10
-The sower
-The reaper
-The fruit giver
Teamwork is well-blended peculiarities.
Teamwork is a very rewarding way of doing great job for the glory of God. There are hard works that cannot be done by one man, but can be easily accomplished by seven man team.
We cannot reach all unsaved people through out the whole world, but through working together as teams, surely, we’ll bring home the best trophies of God’s servants. In I Corinthians 3:6-8 Apostle Paul wrote, I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase. Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor. Undoubtedly, this was an amazing division of labor, but not a divided team. What a joy to realize that we are in God’s Winning Team.
