FAITHFUL ANGELS (Part 2)
As we saw in our last study, there are two classifications of angels within Scripture; those which followed Satan and have fallen and those angels which followed God and are the elect or holy angels. In this study we will look at the work and ministry of the faithful angels.
Angel¡¦s Activities In Heaven
1. They worship the Person of God (1 Kings 22:19; Psalm 29:1-2; Isaiah 6:3; Revelation 4:8; 19:4).
2. They observe the people of God (Luke 12:8-9; 15:10; 1 Corinthians 4:9; 11:10; Ephesians 3:10; 1 Timothy 5:21; 1 Peter 1:12).
3. They inquire into the prophetical plan of God (Daniel 12:5-6).
4. They rejoice in the works of God. God¡¦s work of creation (Job 38:7; Revelation 4:11). God¡¦s work of redemption (1 Timothy 3:16; Revelation 5:11-12).
5. They perform the will of God (Genesis 28:12; Psalm 103:29; 104:4; Daniel 7:10).
6. They witness the wrath of God (Revelation 14:10).
Angel¡¦s Activities On Earth
Concerning The Saved
Hebrews 1:14
Revelation 22:16
1. They inform, instruct, and interpret concerning both the will and Word of God. The following individuals are examples of those who received ministry from angels.
„« Daniel (Daniel 7:16; 10:5, 11).
„« Zechariah (Zechariah 1:9, 13-14, 19; 2:3; 5:5-10; 6:4-5).
„« Zacharias (Luke 1:11-17).
„« Mary (Luke 1:26-33).
„« Joseph (Matthew 1:20; 2:13, 19).
„« The shepherds (Luke 2:9-12).
„« The women at the tomb (Luke 24:4-7).
„« The apostles (Acts 1:10-11)
„« Philip (Acts 8:26).
„« Cornelius (Acts 10:3-6).
„« John (Revelation 17:1; 21:9).
2. They protect (Genesis 19:10-11; 2 Kings 6:15-17; Psalms 34:7; 91:11).
3. They comfort (1 Kings 19:5; Acts 27:24).
4. They deliver (Acts 5:19; 12:7).
5. They minister to the believer at the moment of death (Luke 16:22).
Concerning The Unsaved
1. They judged the Egyptians (Exodus 12:13, 23).
2. They judged the Sodomites (Genesis 19:13).
3. They judged the Assyrians (2 Kings 19:35).
4. They judged Herod (Acts 12:23).
5. They will judge the earth during the tribulation. They hold back the four winds of Heaven (Revelation 7:1). They pronounce the seven trumpet judgments (Revelation 8:2). They cast Satan and his angels out of Heaven (Revelation 12:7-8). They announce the eternal hell awaiting all unbelievers (Revelation 14:10). They predict the fall of Babylon (Revelation 14:8). They announce the fall of Babylon (Revelation 18:1-2). They pour out the seven vial judgments (Revelation 15:1). They announce Armageddon (Revelation 19:17). They accompany Christ at His Second Coming (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8). They gather the unsaved for eternal hell (Matthew 13:39-43). They bind Satan in the bottomless pit (Revelation 20:1).
Concerning Israel
1. Angels fought for Israel (Judges 5:20).
2. They gave the law to Israel (Deuteronomy 33:2; Acts 7:53; Galatians 3:19; Hebrews 2:2).
3. They seal the 144,000 Israelites (Revelation 7:1-3).
4. They will re-gather faithful Israel (Matthew 24:31).
Concerning The Savior
1. They worship Him (Hebrews 1:6).
2. They were made by Him and for Him (Colossians 1:17).
3. They predicted His birth (Matthew 1:20-21; Luke 1:31).
4. They announced His birth (Luke 2:9-13).
5. They helped protect Him (Psalms 91:11; Matthew 2:13).
6. They ministered to Him in the wilderness (Matthew 4:11).
7. They ministered to Him in the garden (Luke 22:43).
8. They rolled away the tombstone (Matthew 28:2).
9. They announced His resurrection (Matthew 28:6).
10. They predicted His Second Coming (Acts 1:10-11).
11. They will accompany Him at the Second Coming (2 Thessalonians 1:7-8).
12. They are in total subjection to Him (1 Peter 3:22).
Angel¡¦s Destiny
1. To spend eternity in the New Jerusalem along with the elect.

2. To learn throughout eternity of God¡¦s grace as exhibited by the elect.
