Romans 11: 29 – “ For God’s gifts and His call are irrevocable”
Our God does not change His mind with reference to our call. Even though we remain in the state of unbelief, God’s purpose will be fulfilled in us. He never withdraws them when once they are given, and He does not change His mind about those whom He gives His grace or to whom He send His call.
Roman 8:28 (NIV) – “ And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been “called” according to His purpose.”
No matter if we are suffering hatred/separation/trouble form the world or from our own near and dear ones as Joseph suffered, when his own brother harmed him, put him in the pit, then later sold him as a slave in the hands of the Egyptians, but Joseph (who was by then the in-charge/caretaker of Egypt) tells his brother, “ you intended to harm me, but God intended it for good.” (Gen 50:20A)
Ø God is the author and finisher of our lives, the alpha and omega of our live (Rev 1:8).
Ø God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ, our Lord, is faithful. (1Cor 1:9)
Therefore, whatever happens in a believer’s life, his situation and circumstances happens according to the foreknowledge and the predestined plan of God (Rom 8:29A). And those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also justified; and those He justified, He also glorified. (Rom 8:30)
“God’s gifts and His call is irrevocable.”
Ø When the Lord has sworn, He never changes his mind as Jesus Christ was chosen by God to be a priest forever. (Heb 7:21)
Ø Isaiah 55:11 – “ So is my word (call).”
As we receive God’s word (call) into our lives, we shouldn’t just keep quiet after that, but we should take that word/call deeper and deeper into our life. As the rain comes down on the earth and if it just remains on the surfaces, it gets dried up soon, instead if it seeps into the earth (soil) and makes it bud and flourish which blossoms out and yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater (Is 55:10). So should our call be, taking deep roots into our lives and bringing forth the bud (our blessing) and to flourish (everlasting blessing) and yielding seeds for the sower (being fruitful to our creator God) and bread for the eater (to be a blessing for others).
Therefore, my dear friends, as a bondservant of the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of your calling you have received (Eph 4:11). Because He who has called you is faithful and His gifts and His call are irrevocable. Amen…….
