GALATIANS # 6
A. Performance in Liberty: Do Good to All Men 6:1 10
1. Bear One Another’s Burdens 6:1 5
1 Brethren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual, restore such a
one in a spirit of gentleness; each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be
tempted.
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.
3 For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself
4 But each one must examine his own work, and then he will have reason for boasting in
regard to himself alone, and not in regard to another.
5 For each one will bear his own load.
What is the Law of Christ?
MATTBEW 22:36 40
36 "Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?"
37 And He said to him, ""YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’
38 "This is the great and foremost commandment.
39 "The second is like it, "YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ 40 "On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets."
Tatoo these words on you heart. Because if we follow these two laws, after we become Christians, we will see eternity.
2. Do Not Be Weary While Doing Good 6:6 10
6 The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him.
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.
8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will ftom the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
a. ECCLESIASTES 3: 1 10 A Time for Everything
1 There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven
2 A time to give birth and a time to die; A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
3 A time to kill and a time to heal; A time to tear down and a time to build up.
4 A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance.
5 A time to throw stones and a time to gather stones; A time to embrace and a time to shun embracing.
6 A time to search and a time to give up as lost; A time to keep and a time to throw away. 7 A time to tear apart and a time to sew together; A time to be silent and a time to speak. 8 A time to love and a time to hate; A time for war and a time for peace.
9 What profit is there to the worker from that in which he toils?
10 1 have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves.
B. Conclusion 6:11 18
1. Motives of the Circumcised 6:11 13
11 See with what large letters I am writing to you with my own hand.
12 Those who desire to make a good showing in the flesh try to compel you to be
circumcised, simply so that they will not be persecuted for the cross of Christ.
13 For those who are circumcised do not even keep the Law themselves, but they desire
to have you circumcised so that they may boast in your flesh.
The ones that were preaching this circumcision were converted Jews and to stay on the good side of the Jews they were going around trying to turn the new Christians to the Law to keep there old Jewish friends off of their back. Maybe, to keep trading with the Jews, or to keep working for them.
2. Motives of the Apostle Paul 6:14 18
14 But may it never be that I would boast, except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ,
through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.
15 For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
16 And those who will walk by this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon the
Israel of God.
17 From now on let no one cause trouble for me, for I bear on my body the brand marks
of Jesus.
18 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brethren. Amen.
Just as God made a nation out of Abraham and called it Israel so He made a nation out of the followers of Christ. We who follow Christ, we who believed the prophets are the true Israel. Not the ones that follow the Law, but we who follow the Son.
PLAN OF SALVATION
ROMANS 10: 17
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.
HEBREWS 11:6
6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
ACTS 2:38
38 Peter said to them, "Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
ROMANS 10:9 10
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
MARK 16:16
16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.
MATTHEW 7:21
21 "Not everyone who says to Me, "Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter.
