“Paul’s Courage Before Them”
1 Thessalonians 2:1-4
I. Paul’s COURAGE before them. (vv. 1-4).
A. His APPROACH towards them was not in vain. (v.1) entrance was neither empty-handed nor fruitless
B. His AFFLICTION in boldly proclaiming the gospel to them. (v. 2) suffering in agony
C. His APPEAL (ADMONITION) to them was uncompromised. (v. 3) exhortation, entreaty
D. His APPROVAL by God. (v. 4a) tested and entrusted 2 Corinthians 6:4; 1 Corinthians 9:17; 1 Timothy 6:20; 2 Timothy 1:14
1. He was EXAMINED by God. (v. 4a-i) tested Psalm 26:2; 1 Corinthians 4:1-2; 2 Corinthians 13:5; Job 23:10; Psalm 17:3
