Summary: It is intended to teach every reader how to secure and maintain a good and cordial relationship with God.

DOUBLE LOSS!

Jesus said: “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36)

By ‘world’, Jesus meant everything that the physical eyes can see and the systems, which control the conduct and living of an unregenerate man on our Planet, Earth.

He was looking at the value of the soul of man - comparing the inestimable riches of a saved soul in eternity with the ‘gains’ of the world and its allure, which inevitably drags its recipients into ‘the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:’ The Omniscient eyes of the Saviour of mankind pierced through man’s gorgeous adornment and sophisticated clad (that tend to hide spiritual poverty from the human eyes) into the real man. He knew that the abysmal ignorance of man would not allow him to weigh the consequences of living a Christ-less life in this dark world - a lamentable fact. No; many men do not even care to know where their aimless earthly life would lead them until, maybe, they are forced to do so - either by the imminence of death or some other calamities or afflictions. Many men are so hard-hearted that they can get bitter against the idea of the existence of a God in Heaven who rules in the affairs of men. Some people who dare to trust in God do so with their own righteousness (as they like it) - Romans 18:3, or as if they are the architect of their own salvation. Sad enough, “... It is appointed unto men once to die, after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27). No wonder Jesus wept (because of the helplessness of man) at Lazarus’ tomb. (John 11:35). “Life has no duplicate,” they say. How true! What are you doing to safeguard your soul from being swept away by the floods of the world? “If thou hadst known even thou, at least in this day, the things which belong unto thy peace! But now they are hid from thine eyes.”(Luke 19:42), Jesus compassionately and tearfully lamented. Jesus cannot be wrong. He created the world. He knows man through and through. He created the devil. He knows the devil too. The devil is ruling this dark world. The world and its lusts cannot be good “for all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.” And “if any man love the world, the love of the Father os not in him.” (1 John 2:16,15b) because friendship of the world is enmity with God. Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4)

The souls of all the enemies of God who die without repentance shall be lost eternally ‘in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone:’(Rev.21: 8)! No soul in hell will ever have any iota of rest day or night - forever - in its torments (Rev.14: 10,11). This is no doubt, eternal death!

The message

It is a double loss for you to gain the whole world and lose your own soul. There is no continual place of abode in this world. Satan - the Champion of sinners, rules the world. “And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof:” (1John 2:17)! There is no profit in worldly ‘gains’. Its merits are forgotten after some seconds’ torments in hell. Whatever any man thinks he gets from not surrendering his life to Jesus Christ to become his personal Lord and Saviour is only ephemeral. Nothing lasts too long in this life. It is only a life that is lived for God through the Redeemer, Jesus that Can gainfully out-live everything visible to the Physical eyes on this earth. There is no how you can sin like the devil does. So why will you allow him to take you along with him to the place of punishment prepared for him and his cohorts?

Fools have treaded this planet (Psalm14: 1). But the greatest fool is that man who can hear about the Saviour that can, and is ready to, save his soul from perdition and will still allow Satan to delude him until he ends up his ‘voyage’ in hell.

Tell me, what are those ‘gains of the world’ that are blinding your eyes to the reality of the brevity of your stay here on earth and an endless life in eternity to prepare for?

Jesus came into this world many years ago and died so everyone can be saved. The blood He shed on the Cross of Calvary where sinful men nailed him has got no match and will never get in the history of man’s existence on earth. HIS BLOOD IS A REDEEMING BLOOD. Shout Hallelujah!

He resurrected the third day after He died and was buried in accordance with all He said and all the prophecies of many prophets who lived before Him. And he ascended into Heaven with great glory and majesty. And He is coming back again by the end of the age (of which no man knows when) to catch up all sincere and genuine, blood - bought believers to Himself so that where He is, we can be also forever (John 14:1-3).

But every one without faith in Christ Jesus will be judged and cast into the lake of fire where they will be punished forever (Rev. 20:11-15).

You can be saved. Salvation is free. Jesus has purchased redemption with His Blood - for you. Just come to Him with faith - trusting in His love, care and death for you. Confess all your sins to him and invite Him into your life to become your personal Lord and Saviour. And always remember that “Heaven and earth shall pass away”(Matt. 24:35), “but he that doeth the will of God abideth forever.”(1John 2:17).

IN THE EYES OF GOD,

*You can never (really) make it in life (gain) without Jesus Christ.

*He is not wise, who will allow Satan to delude him and carry him along with himself to hell

*A positive decision for Christ now is a decision to spend eternity with Him in abundance of holy pleasures.

*He that has not the Son (Jesus Christ) has not life.

*It is a double loss for you to gain vanity (the whole world - without Jesus) and lose your own soul - losing on earth and in eternity!

Wait a minute and ponder

Hast thine affection been

nailed to the Cross; Is thine heart right with God? Is thine heart right with God, Washed in the crimson flow, are you made holy, humble and lowly; is thine heart right with God?

O to live without the Saviour,

With no hope nor refuge nigh!

How can one without Christ

dare to live or dare to die?!

Points for sober reflection

1.Gaining the whole world (without God) is gaining Vanity.

2.No gain matters more in eternity than gaining Jesus.

3.Since no man can be as sinful as Satan, it

follows that it is a great loss to be sinful - the devil himself (the chief of sinners), being the chief loser.

4.May you not allow Satan to Pilot the vehicle of your destiny toward the dreaded valley of double loss!

IT IS THE HAND OF GOD ON THE WALL!

“Behold, I come quickly: hold

that which thou hast, that no

man take Thy crown”(Rev.3:11)

It cost God the death of His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ to redeem you. Do not toy with your redemption.

God expects you to keep your salvation - safe from evil spiritual thieves and safe from people who are not ready to get to Heaven and are at the same time ready to keep others from making it.

Jesus is coming very soon. What is He going to meet you doing? Keeping your salvation or losing it?

Crowns are slippery. What would you allow to shift your crown away from you? Tribulation or distress or persecution or famine or peril or sword or death or life or angels or principalities or powers or things present or things to come or any other creature?

Please, if you have got salvation, keep it. We shall soon raise up our hands in glory to majestically sing

THE VICTORY OF JESUS!

FROM THE MINISTER’S HEART

“Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not?”(Isaiah 55:2)

Had it stopped at that! But, no; the same ‘unsatisfied soul’ on earth is billed, by the guilt and wages of his sins to perish eternally in the lake of fire “that never shall be quenched:”(Mark9: 43). This is a double loss. “What shall a man give in exchange for his soul”(Mark 8:37)?

Sometimes, I wonder how many people rate eternity. Do they think that eternity is transient? Oh that there is no life hereafter at all? What again could be inspiring the cold -heartedness, lethargy and apostasy that we see all around today in this generation that is waiting for either death - which is inevitable for all mortals, or the imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ at rapture - which is the next item on God’s agenda - than these wicked, heretic beliefs? Whatever is the case, the source of the inspiration will not be the most important thing after this life is past. No belief can alter the judgment of God on sin. And “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.” (Ezek. 18:20) What have you done about your sins? Have they been cleansed or are you still hesitating to go all out for cleansing? Do you know when you will die? Or, do you know when Jesus will come again? Just a lie can seal your eternal doom. “Seek ye the Lord while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:” (Isaiah 55:7). Please, “...Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.” (Hebrews 4:7b) Leave those “broken cisterns, that can hold no water”(Jer. 2:13) and come to the River of Life. That River is flowing everywhere whosoever drink of it shall “never thirst” again (John4: 14)! Jesus Christ is the River of Life. Please come and quench your thirst (Rev.22: 17) You may never have a second chance to make up your mind. This may be your own last chance!

If you come to Him, He will make an everlasting covenant with you. You will enjoy the full benefits of this life and enjoy the indescribable eternal life (of God) in Heaven. Did you say “Amen”? That’s okay; but please get your life very, very right with God now that you still can.
