Help thou our unbelief!
Revelation 3:7-13
Beloved the Lord Jesus Christ has a message for you that will transform your life so that even the old dog on the back porch won’t recognize you anymore. My dogs are barking at me when I come home because Jesus is good and gracious and reached past my ignorance to touch my heart and send revival to my soul. I’ll never be the same beloved. I’ll never be the same and one day I’ll have a new name to go with my new heart and life. The old man is dead and my heart is filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit and thanksgiving to Christ who has given me mercy and grace. Jesus is the Holy One and Jesus is the Truth! He can’t be unholy and he cannot lie! What’s the only thing that God doesn’t know? Do you ever think about things like that and just rest in the majesty and power of Christ Jesus? What’s the only thing God has never known the answer to?
WHAT’S IMPOSSIBLE!
Think about that beloved the next time you feel like you’ve reached the end of your rope and can’t go on because the devil seems to be winning. Think about that when you get tired of doing the Christian thing or you feel like just not praying anymore because NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD! Help our unbelief today Lord and let us rest in the truth that with you we can do all things. Let the word of God be true and every man a liar!
Can God still save the lost? Can he still soften a heart to change? Is it possible for God to still heal the sick and afflicted? Can the name of Jesus still make the demons tremble? Yet maybe he can do all those things but has somehow lost the ability to heal broken hearts and broken marriages or set the captive free? Maybe there are no more blessings left in heaven or the last answer to prayer has been sent years ago? Help thou our unbelief and our fear today Lord Jesus and speak to your servants by releasing the power of the Holy Spirit in this place today.
"And be ye not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind that ye may prove what is the good, and acceptable and perfect will of God." Romans 12:2
Beloved if God can do all things and nothing is impossible, Amen? Then surely he can give us the key of David can’t he? You may say the key of David, Brother Mike? What is the key of David? Does it still exist? Beloved if it’s still being held in the hand of the Risen Christ, it still exist and is useful for us to possess. Jesus didn’t say, I who use to hold the key of David but said, I who have the key of David. It must still exist because we don’t keep useless keys do we? No beloved we throw them away don’t we?
1) We know a few things about the servant David beloved
a. we know about his triumphs
b. we know about his greatest failures
c. we know about the testimony of God about him
d. we know about his relationship with God that created the testimony
1) What then is the key of David?
a. 1 Chronicles 13:8 "and David and all Israel played before God with all their might and with singing and with harps and with psalteries and with timbrels and with cymbals and with trumpets."
b. 1 Chronicles 15:28-29 "thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting and with cornet and with trumpets and with cymbals and making a noise with psalteries and harps and it came to pass as the ark of the covenant,
WHAT DID THE ARK OF THE COVENANT REPRESENT? And Michal saw King David dancing and playing, WHERE WAS HE AT? And she despised him in her heart."
Beloved the key of David is rejoicing in the presence of the Lord at the fullness of God within our hearts. David was overwhelmed with rejoicing in the presence of God! We seem to be missing rejoicing in our worship beloved. You might ask how I can say something like that, why Brother Mike what do you mean? Let’s look into the word of God and apply truth to our hearts so that we can rejoice in the presence of the Lord.
a. Have we become so consumed with our tradition and ritual that we have lost sight of the cause for our rejoicing? ( Saved from )
b. Maybe since we’ve forgotten what we were saved from we have started looking back fondly at what’s behind like Lot’s wife did
c. Perhaps the form of religion with it’s legalistic and condemning attitude has poisoned our fullness and joy and we’ve been deceived by Satan so much waiting for somebody else to get right with the Lord, we’ll never rejoice again in the grace of God
Beloved let’s search our hearts and find the key of rejoicing in worship within our own personal life and stop looking in all the wrong places or making excuses. YOU CAN HAVE PERSONAL REVIVAL IN YOUR LIFE TODAY just don’t think everyone will be pleased at what God does in you because Michal wasn’t, was she? No beloved she despised David in her heart at his rejoicing in worship,
WHERE WAS HE REJOICING?
The consequence to her despising true overflowing worship was that she never experienced joy in her own heart, beloved! She was banished from the presence of the king and never bore children. Not bearing children meant that she was fruitless for the rest of her life. Oh beloved to be fruitless for the Lord God is to be useless in his hand to experience the fullness and joy of the Lord.
1) The key of rejoicing, overflowing joy, in worship of the Lord God is held in whose hand beloved?
2) The Risen Christ! That’s who is preaching here to the church at Philadelphia, the Alpha and Omega, the beginning, middle and the end!
"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you and that your joy might be full." John 15:11
That’s just another controversial statement from the gospel of John after Jesus expounded on the relationship we should have with him and the mark of a true disciple that will reach a lost and dying world. They are lost and dying without Jesus beloved! Look with me at John 15:7-10 and then 12-14.
"This is my commandment, that ye love one another as I have loved you! Greater love hath no man than this that a man lay down his life for his friends. YE ARE MY FRIENDS IF YE DO WHATSOEVER I HAVE COMMANDED YOU!" AND LET THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD OUR GOD BE UPON US BELOVED!
Love that verse of scripture like no other I’ve ever read because the man who has experienced something is never at the mercy of a man with a theory! That your joy may be full the Lord God filled the preacher with a new annointing from the Holy Spirit so you can know there is a God in heaven that loves you too beloved! He loves you and wants to be your friend if you’ll only follow him and let the distinguishing mark of his beauty, his love mark your life! "And to know the love of Christ which passeth knowledge that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God!"
Ephesians 3:19
(2) The key to rejoicing in worship is in letting Jesus get past our ignorance and to shed light on the blindness of our heart by the searchlight of the Holy Spirit
Ephesians 4:17-20 then verse 21 (underline it in your bible) THE TRUTH IS IN JESUS BELOVED! HAVE YOU LOST YOUR JOY? ARE YOU JUST GOING THROUGH THE MOTIONS AND TRYING TO PUT YOUR CHURCH FACE ON AND LOOK SPIRITUAL TO THE PEOPLE AROUND YOU? We get caught up in the strangest things beloved. We try to impress people by what we want them to think we are to gain something we cannot keep. (men’s approval)

Jesus came that our joy might be full and he testified that he was the LIVING WATER flowing forth from us to reach a lost and dying world! You can’t fake it but if you’ll just meet Jesus face to face and listen to what he commands you, you can be his friend too! You’ll rejoice in your worship again beloved, I AM! I thought that I’d never feel this consumed by God again but I am and had nothing to do with it, the Holy Spirit did it all! How important is it for the beauty of the Lord to be upon us? HOW IMPORTANT IS IT FOR US TO GET REAL WITH GOD? I’ll tell you beloved, How much is a soul in hell worth? How much is the eternal soul of your neighbor or you best friend worth? How much is the eternal soul of your husband or your wife worth? Your children? Your grandchildren?
JESUS SAYS I AM HE THAT OPENETH AND NO MAN SHUTTETH AND I AM HE THAT CLOSETH AND NO MAN OPENETH, BEHOLD I STAND AT THE DOOR AND KNOCK! IF ANY MAN HEAR MY VOICE AND OPEN THE DOOR, I WILL COME IN TO HIM AND WILL SUP WITH HIM, TALKING ABOUT FELLOWSHIP, AND HE WITH ME! REVELATION 3:7,20
Beloved there are doors opening all around us to reach this community and your families with the life changing message of Jesus Christ and it is a life changing message beloved. It changed me the first time! It’s still changing me everyday to make this stump sucking preacher look more and more like Jesus. I’ll never be the same and there ain’t no going back now! You may be the key to reaching some lost soul Jesus died on a cross for and they may be the one,
THEY MAY BE THE ONE WHO WILL WIN THE DEAREST ONE OF YOUR PRAYERS TO THE LORD JESUS CHRIST! OPEN THE DOOR OF YOU HEART BELOVED,
THERE’S NO HANDLE ON THE OUTSIDE OF THAT DOOR SO ONLY YOU CAN LET HIM COME IN, AND THE BEAUTY OF THE LORD GOD SHALL BE UPON YOU TO ESTABLISH THOU THE WORK OF OUR HANDS UPON US…
That means that even we’ll be changed by the Love of God filling us with Joy and Fullness beloved but God doesn’t stop there he goes on to say in Psalm 90:17 Yea establish thou the work of our hands, establish thou it! That means he’ll be the one reaching those we reach out to. We have to come to the meeting place beloved for fellowship and prayer with the Lord God and his name is Jesus! His name is Jesus and he has the key of David the overflowing rejoicing in worship at the presence of the Lord.
HELP OUR UNBELIEF TODAY LORD AND TOUCH US IN A SUPERNATURAL WAY BY THE PRESENCE AND POWER OF YOU BLESSED HOLY SPIRIT. I don’t want to go back Jesus, I want to change Lord and help my unbelief today so that I can pray and have thanksgiving in my heart at all you’ve done for me and in me and through me. Let there be evidence today Lord that you are still in control and make the devil and all his demons leave this place so that people can get saved and get delivered and get healed and get right with you. HELP US LORD! CHANGE US LORD BY FILLING US WITH ALL YOU FULLNESS SO THAT OUR JOY MAY BE FULL. WE LOVE YOU LORD AND OUR EYES ARE UPON YOU THIS MORNING.
Beloved there is a joy and an excitement available to you today. I have experienced it! You’ll never be the same beloved if you’ll only let Jesus have all of your heart… will you listen to him today? Will you be his friend today and follow his commands or do you want to take one more lonely trip around that mountain? Jesus loves you and he’s knocking on your hearts door, will you listen to him?
