"So Great a Salvation"
Hebrews 9:1-3, 11-15, 19
If you have come into this house of God today with even the slightest desire to hear a message about Christ Jesus, the Holy Ghost is gonna crank your tractor this morning. Months ago here in this very house of God I began to make a journey and request to walk in a deeper revelation of the Word of God and to experience the power of the Holy Spirit explode in my spiritual life. I praise My Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, I praise with all my heart a gracious Heavenly Father and I praise the Spirit of a Holy and merciful God that would hear the prayer of a desperate man like me and then illuminate my heart to understand a deep spiritual truth about SO GREAT A SALVATION!
" For God has not given me a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7
No matter how crazy you may think I am after today, my heart is rejoicing like I have good sense because the Creator of the Universe walked into my house and revealed himself to me the other night. God himself showed me the fulfilled elements of Atonement in the death, burial and ressurrection of Christ Jesus. I experienced God in my bible study and I want to preach a message from the very throne of God, the place of the mercy seat in the Holy of Holies.
Originally this message had the Four fulfilled elements of Atonement to the perfect law of God as given to Moses, but God just kept opening and opening and opening. I may preach an hour or two this morning and before you even ask I won’t apologize for this message. I do want to share that this message isn’t to point out fulfilled Prophecy but instead fulfilled Atonement under the Divine and perfect method given to Moses on Mount Sinai.
Look with me at Hebrews 9 verse 19 and look at the original four elements of fulfilled atonement in Jesus. I was weeping when this opened to me the other night but it just kept coming to me by the Holy Spirit. It may not crank your tractor but it sure cranked mine!
1. Blood 2. Water 3. Scarlet wool or purple 4. Hyssop
In Leviticus 14 verses 49-53 there is a God breathed command of Atonement for Plague in a house with the 4 listed elements of atonement.

1. Leviticus 14 verses 4-7 also list the four necessary elements of atonement for being able to cleanse the untouchable, the ostracized the outcast

(Prayer) LORD GOD I PLEAD WITH YOU TODAY TO OPEN OUR SPIRITUAL EARS IN SUCH A WAY THAT THIS MESSAGE WILL BE AS IF I WERE A VENTRILOQUIST’S DUMMY SITTING ON YOUR LAP WITH YOUR HAND INSIDE MY HEART ORDERING MY EVERY WORD, MY EVERY EXPRESSION, MY EVERY STEP TO SPEAK TO THESE PEOPLE GATHERED HERE AND TO EVERY ONE WHO WILL LISTEN THAT IS NOT HERE NOW. USE THESE WORDS IN SUCHA WAY THAT THEY REACH INSIDE THE HEARTS OF THE HEARERS AND SQUEEZE THEM UNTIL THEY REPENT. LORD DON’T LET SOMEBODY LEAVE HERE TODAY LOST. LORD DON’T LET YOUR PRECIOUS SAVED CHILDREN CONTINUE TO SIN BUT CHASTISE US WITH HOLINESS TODAY.
BEND OUR HEARTS TO YOUR WAYS LORD AND LET US WEEP IN YOUR PRESENCE AT SO GREAT A SALVATION THAT IS IN US AND AVAILABLE TO EVERY ONE WITHIN THE SOUND OF MY VOICE. FILL THIS HOUSE WITH GLORY, JESUS AS WE LIFT YOU UP SO THAT YOU CAN DRAW ALL MEN UNTO YOURSELF. FOR YOU GLORY ALONE, FOR YOU HONOR ALONE, FOR YOUR PRAISE ALONE FATHER DO WE SEEK TO CHANGE FOREVER THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO HEAR THIS MESSAGE. LET US BREAK THIS BREAD OF LIFE SO THAT IT WILL LEAD US TO BECOME WELLS FLOWING FORTH WITH LIVING WATER. IN THE VICTORIOUS NAME ABOVE EVERY NAME OF JESUS WE ASK YOU TO HELP US TODAY. AMEN AND AMEN.
Hebrews 9:14 has been my most favorite verse in the bible since the time I was 16 years old and a newborn babe in Christ. Although I have never fully understood why, from the first moment I read it there was an imprint made in my heart to instantaneously memorize that verse of scripture.
Quote. Beloved you listen to the maturity of a gospel seed sown in my heart for more than 18 years now that is the sum total of my life in Jesus Christ. I want to preach from the overflow of my spiritual life today and ask you to turn with me in your bibles to Leviticus 16 to hear the glorious message of a scapegoat and learn the 9 elements of fulfilled atonement in Jesus the Son of the Living God. Fulfilled atonement that is from everlasting to everlasting in the blood of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords shed on Calvary’s Hill almost two thousand years ago.
Leviticus 16: 8-10 and 18-22
For the high priest to enter the holy of holies there was a prescribed requirement of God that the elements of atonement had been met. The necessity of meeting all the elements made it necessary to tie a rope around the waist of the priest with a bell attached that tinkled everytime he moved. If the elements of atonement had not been met the priest would die and the people on the other side of the veil seperating the holy of holies, the mercy seat, didn’t hear the bell they knew to pull out the dead body with the rope.
1. The priest found it necessary to secure 2 goats
2. He was to cast lots for the goats because one was to be the offering to the Lord God for the Lord God and the other was to bear the burden of sin.
3. Verses 11-19 describe the bloody act of the priest in cleansing and reconciling the holy place containing the mercy seat beyond the veil
4. Verse 2 tells the importance of the act because God himself promised to appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat to accept the atonement
After all this is done the second goat, the sin bearing goat is brought into the holy of holies beyond the veil. The scapegoat had the distinct honor of having the blood soaked hands of the high priest laid upon it’s head and confession of all the iniquities, all the transgressions and all the sins of the people on it’s head.
"and the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited and he shall let got the goat in the wilderness." Verse 22
IF THERE IS ANYTHING WE MUST REALIZE IN THE ELEMENTS OF ATONEMENT INVOLVED WITH A SCAPEGOAT, IT IS THAT THE SIN BEARER WAS TO BE TAKEN OUTSIDE THE GATES OF THE CITY TO BEAR THE BURDEN AND PENALTY FOR THE SIN.
DID YOU FORGET THERE WAS A PENALTY?
1. This goat wasn’t set free to roam the wide open spaces
2. The blood soaked scapegoat was alone without protection outside the gates of the city… I literally stopped here because God gave me another fulfilled element of atonement and I was tired of changing the title.
3. The scent of blood begins to carry in the air into the noses of the predators, the wild dogs and lions and bears
4. The scapegoat is ripped to pieces by the teeth of a savage predator because of the burden of sin confessed on his head
Hebrews 9:23-28 (Read) (Prayer) Lord make this so simple that the youngest child here today or that hears this message can understand completely the atonement for our sins paid for all eternity by Christ Jesus. Amen.
In the gospel of Christ as recorded by the Apostle John we have the best record of witness of the death, burial and ressurrection of Jesus Christ and the complete atonement of the scapegoat sacrifice.
1. John 19:5 "then Jesus came forth wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe." First element of atonement has been met in the wearing of the scarlet or purple.
2. John 19:17 "and he bearing his cross went forth unto a place called the place of the skull, in the Hebrew called Golgotha." The second element is met in an uninhabitable place located outside the gates of the city of Jerusalem.
3. John 19:24 "let us not tear it but cast lots for it to decide whose it shall be." God just don’t quit folks! The casting of lots at the feet of the scapegoat to decide whose it shall be!
4. John 19:29 "now there was a vessel of vinegar and they filled a sponge with it and put it upon hyssop and put it in his mouth." Fourth element of atonement has been met BY A LOST PEOPLE FOR A LOST PEOPLE! I JUST HEARD A TRACTOR CRANK… BRRMMM…
5. John 19:34 "but one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side and forthwith came out BLOOD AND WATER!" The fifth and sixth element of atonement has been met in the broken heart of Jesus the Nazarene. You did know he died of a broken heart didn’t you? Ah that’s another message though!
6. John 19:17 "and he bearing his cross…" There’s the Seventh element of atonement found in the wood of the cedar… come on people this is good stuff! You can’t hear this kind of stuff from Dr. Smoothmouth, can you?
7. Mark 15:34 "and at the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying ELOI, ELOI LAMA SABACHTHANI? MY GOD, MY GOD WHY HAVE YOU FORSAKEN ME?" Eighth element of atonement in the everlasting blood of Jesus was found when HE PAID THE PENALTY FOR THE SINS OF THE PEOPLE ALONE! ALONE!
When Aaron made the elements of atonement for the untouchable, for the plague, for the sins of the people there were always two vessels brought to him now weren’t there?
2 birds to cleanse the plague…
2 birds to reconcile the untouchable…
2 goats to wash away the sins of the people…
One was chosen to be sacrificed to the Lord for the Lord and the other was to bear the burden of uncleaness, plague and iniquity. The one who was covered in blood and released to bear the penalty of sin.
Leviticus 14:7 the living bird encrusted with blood is to be let loose in an open field to bear the penalty not so that he could fly away. It will be devoured by the predators when they smell it.
Leviticus 14:53 likewise says that the blood encrusted living bird is to be let loose outside the city to bear the burden of sin atonement. That element of atonement made me scratch my head a little bit but before I was even through studying, God gave me the answer.
How many of you know God don’t have to scratch his head wondering why?
Hebrews 2:14-17 (read)
John 1:14 (read) (prayer) Lord don’t set us down now please but help us to recognize the total and complete everlasting atonement accomplished on Calvary’s Hill by the One and Only Son of the Living God. Amen.
In the book of Genesis 2:22 God took from one to make two and then took the two and made them one again. Jesus was fully man yet he was also fully God manifest inside that human body. For 33 years he walked the face of this earth to experience the same things we experience and to always have the potential of falling into temptation but he never committed one sin. In effect Jesus was a man but he was also God. He had a human nature like us yet His Divine nature was also in place.
When the Living Son of God was nailed to that Roman cross, God in effect had his two goats lifted up.
1. The human nature of Jesus was the one who provided the scapegoat penalty for the sins of the people outside the gates of the city in the uninhabited place. The sinless one, the fully human Jesus who had fulfilled every letter, exclamation point and quotation mark of God’s Perfect Law was about to write a NEW TESTAMENT in his own blood.
a. Jesus tasted death for all of us
b. Blood flowed on Golgotha’s hill to bear the burden of our sin
Yet there still remained the element of atonement in the offering to the Lord for the Lord. Somebodies tractor just cranked! Jesus was in the grave three days and nights and rose on ressurrection morning as FULLY GOD DIVINE JESUS THE AUTHOR AND PERFECTOR OF OUR FAITH.
HE HAD NO NEED FOR A HUMAN NATURE NOW BECAUSE HE HAD ALREADY EXPERIENCED TEMPTATION AND FRAILTY! DIVINE JESUS ROSE FROM THE GRAVE IN A GLORIFIED BODY FOLKS WITHOUT A HUMAN NATURE THAT HAS PLAGUED US AND MADE US OUTCAST FROM GOD’S PRESENCE.
The Apostle Paul called it an INCORRUPTIBLE BODY in 1 Corinthinans
15:49-50 "and as we have born the image of the earthy we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. Now this I say brothers that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God neither does corruption inherit incorruption."
Jesus had a glorified body that could walk through walls and materialize instantaneously at the speed of thought anywhere he desired. He told Mary not to touch him until he had ascended to the Father, to give the offering to the Lord for the Lord, to COMPLETELY AND TOTALLY AND EVERLASTINGLY ATONE AND RECONCILE US BACK TO GOD AS NOT HUMAN JESUS BUT FULLY GOD JESUS. GOD PROVIDED FOR THE TWO!
Put his blood on the mercy seat and sat down at the right hand of God the Father…. Whew! You’re not hearing what I’m saying! Put his so great a salvation on the mercy seat of God and said they’re mine! They’re mine! They’re mine!
Luke 23:45 "and the sun was darkened and the veil of the temple was torn in the middle."
Mark 15:38 " and the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom."
JESUS SAID WE WON’T BE NEEDING THAT ANYMORE!
" LET US NOW COME BOLDLY UNTO THE THRONE OF MERCY AND GRACE THAT WE MAY RECEIVE MERCY AND FIND GRACE TO HELP IN TIME OF NEED." HEBREWS 4:16
HOW MUCH MORE SHALL THE BLOOD OF CHRIST WHO OFFERED HIMSELF WITHOUT BLEMISH THROUGH THE ETERNAL HOLY SPIRIT CLEANSE OUR CONSCIENCE FROM DEAD WORKS TO SERVE THE LIVING GOD!!!!!!!!
