The Blood and Cross of Deliverance
By: Ron Crandall
Introduction:
I want to minister this morning if can on the significance and the power of the Cross of Deliverance and the Blood. To many have and are making light of the Cross and the Blood, choosing rather to seek the masses by toning down the only message that can change lives and heal humanities hurts.
Turn with to:
Matt 27:32
32 And as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name: him they compelled to bear his cross. (KJV)
Matt 27:40-42
40 And saying, Thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the Son of God, come down from the cross.
41 Likewise also the chief priests mocking him, with the scribes and elders, said,
42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
(KJV)
Matt 27:50-51
50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.
51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent;
(KJV)
Behold: Means wonderment
Veil: Was 4" thick and 15’ by 15’ and not even two team of oxen could tear it apart.
Top to Bottom: Signified God had perform it, But also that God loved us so much that he restored fellowship thru the shedding of blood once and for all.
Paul wrote:
Heb 9:22
22 In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
(NIV)
Heb 9:13-17
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:
14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
15 And for this cause he is the mediator of the New Testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they, which are called, might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.
16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator. (Testament: Is a will)
17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.
(KJV)
Rom 5:9
9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. (KJV)
The Psalmist David said, “if the people of God would not praise him the rocks shall cry out"
Jesus said" No man takes my life but I freely give or lay it down for a ransom for many"
Ransom: In my limited understanding is what you pay when someone has kidnapped your child or taken something from you.
Jesus is simply saying I am willing to buy back that which the enemy has no legal right to and is holding.
But even though he purchased our freedom through the shedding of his precious blood, we still have to except the gift.
We must being willing to let go of that which is binding us and cling to his blood.
Matt. 16:24 Then Jesus said" if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. (In other words we must bring this flesh under subjection to the will of God.)
Satan’s biggest tool against man is flesh, yet we’ll be in it until we die
Yet God combats the flesh through the Holy Ghost
You see if we don’t have an understanding of the magnificent Power in the Holy Ghost we cannot combat the flesh and or overcome it.
Without understanding that the first time the Holy Ghost came it was to confound the Languages at Babel the second time we see him, he’s setting down on them like a rush of a MIGHTY wind.
Or hovering, but none of this would even be possible if there had not been shed blood.
Remember:
The first time it was for the confounding of Languages
Second he was fulfilling a blood covenant
There had been Payment in full for your sins, the curtain of separation was torn from top to bottom, destroyed by shed blood of the Son of God, making it possible for you and I, to once again walk and talk to God.
So you can enter into the fullness that God has for you.
You’ve been so afraid of flesh, I got new’s for ya the flesh is more afraid that you’re gonna find this scriptural truth and grab on to it ,and really understand that you have power through and in Jesus shed blood.
Paul writing to the Galatians church:
Gal 5:1
1 Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
(KJV)
And to the church in Rome
Rom 8:15
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father. (KJV)
I’m here today to tell you, it is the Blood of Jesus that gives us Power over the enemy.
You can not do it on your own…
My biggest is enemy is the En-e-my inside of me.
But my bible tells me:
Matt 16:25
25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. (KJV)
Jesus said:
John 15:16
16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. (KJV)
The Cross is a symbol by which all Blood bought Christians rally to, it a sign that we are his, but, it is not the final evidence that you are his.
Ill:
I don’t know about, but in our family when my little sister had her first boy Ryan.
It was a Family affair from all the pictures and videos to the holding of the baby.
All around the room you’d hear well he’s got mama’s eyes and daddies chin.
Every one was comparing Ryan to Debbie and Rich by the outside manifestations and attributes Ryan processed.
But that did not make Ryan their child.
He may have looked like them and acted like them, but until, that blood test came back and his DNA matched their DNA, He was not their son.
But, when it was positive, without a doubt 100% sure we all watched as that little tag on his wrist that gave them custody of Ryan Allen.
Church when Jesus comes back for his bride there is going to be a Spiritual DNA test performed and it is not going to take hour to perform.
In milliseconds the Holy Ghost will be able to match and identify every blood bought Christian and also every person in whom there is no Blood match.
You may have the Mama’s Eye’s and Daddies chin but without the SON’S Blood you aint gettin two feet off the ground.
For it rests in the blood of Jesus.
But without a cross there would have been no blood.
I have heard people, and sadly even professing Christians say, " It was just two pieces of wood nailed together, with no Power.”
If that were the case then why would Jesus say in:
Matt 10:37-40
37 "Anyone who loves his father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me;
38 and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me.
39 Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
40 "He who receives you receives me, and he who receives me receives the one who sent me.
(NIV)
But God couldn’t and wouldn’t Love me, “I’m to far gone” nice thought, oh but listen to the John as he pens by inspiration:
John 3:16-21
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
1# The first sign of a Delivering Cross is the sign of Psychical Labor.
It will cost you something; it will cost you you’re entire life.
Not my will, But thy will
Not my thoughts, But thy thoughts
Not my actions, But thy actions
Not my ways, But thy ways
Jesus said to the rich young ruler sell all and follow me, he simply responded, "I can’t" (flesh).
Oh we need to catch a glimpse of the cross and the price that was paid on it…
The bible tells us that Jesus in Pilots hall was psychically beaten beyond recognition to the point that Isaiah would write:
Isa 53:2
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. (KJV)
Here we have the first evidence that the cross of deliverance would demand a price, hereto not know to man.
It was easy to slaughter a lamb you did not know personally.
Yet, here God the Father takes it out of an impersonal relationship and once again demands from this time forward that man make a Pyschical and Spiritual commitment.
2# The second sign of a Delivering Cross is it is a symbol of Death.
It may be painful along the way, But Jesus said "I will never leave thee or forsake thee."
God the Father still demanded a price be paid for the sin of Adam and Eve, that broke fellowship that Man and the Father once enjoyed in the garden of Eden.
We see God’s Plan as He:
Poured out into Jesus:
The sin of all humanity- That man might be saved, REDEEMED
Salvation
God Poured out into Jesus:
The sickness of all Humanity- That a man might be healed
Restoration
God Poured out into Jesus:
The Problem & Heartaches of all humanity- That man might have a solution to his problem and a balm to soothe his aches
Sound Mind
God Poured out into Jesus:
The temptation of all Humanity- That man would have a way of escape and a door of hope
Resistance
If we were to walk through the bible with a search warrant we would find that even the great Hero’s of Faith hall of fame had faults. They were blemished, Yet, God lists them as great men of faith.
If you started at the beginning you’d find:
Adam whose fault was unbelief,
Noah whose fault was too much wine,
Abraham whose fault was fear for personal safety,
Isaac whose fault was the love of good food,
You’d find Joseph whose was spiritual pride,
Moses whose whose fault was Impatience,
David whose fault was lust of the flesh,
You’d find Solomon whose fault was a desire for new things,
Elijah whose fault was self-pity,
Isaiah whose fault was unclean lips,
Jeremiah whose fault was reluctance,
Jonah whose fault was stubbornness,
Peter whose fault was self-trust,
James and John whose fault was ambition,
You’d even find Paul whose fault was an Independent Spirit.
But each of these great men listed had their faults and yet all had one common thread,
It was repentance.
They all made use of the Blood some from the Old Testament they used goats and bullocks.
And those in the New Testament they too availed themselves of that life giving Blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ the Righteous.
We make up every excuse “why” we can’t follow him.
Yet, he still loves… He loves you and he loves me…
And this morning He stands knocking once more asking will you except what I shed for you and put your name there _____ .
Won’t you run to the cross this morning….
It was not just two pieces of wood it would become the symbol and carry the weight of your sin and mine alike, alone it would just be a symbol. But DNA that flowed down that cross turned it into a powerful reminder that Jesus gave his life for the remission of sin.
