Rebellion – A spirit of resistance to authority
Revolt against any authority or order
Resisting controls
I Samuel 15:22 – 23 – Saul’s Rebellion
Numbers 12: 1-14 - Miriam and Aaron’s Rebellion
Numbers 16: 1- 50 – Korah’s Rebellion
Common Thread in all 3 Rebellions
1. Attempted to walk outside their anointing and call
2. Resisted God’s established authority
3. They had what seemed to be a legitimate or in some cases a non-threatening issue
4. Disobedience partial or complete
5. They assumed the role of the authority
6. They had a following or what they were doing was unchallenged by the masses
7. God would not tolerate the rebellion to
co-exist
8. God’s presence or anointing was lifted and ministry is halted
9. Intercession was made on behalf of the offenders by the one offended
10. God judged the rebellion
11. God’s presence or anointing restored
First Steps to Rebellion
In all 3 examples they were predicated by these 3
initial signs
1. Faltered or absentee leaders
2. Feeling that things could be done better
3. Taking matters into their own hands
