Now the life of moses can be summed up in three periods, We find how moses was divinely preserved from death, how he was placed into Pharoah’s household, adopted by Pharoah’s daughter and raised with all the priviledges of royalty. He was trained as a statesman, as a soldier, as an administrator. I believe he was being groomed to take over the throne, over in the book of Acts chapter 7 verse 22 we find that he was Learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians. Then we find here in Chapter 2 of the book of Exodus where it seemed that moses would make a terrible blunder, a mistake that would take away those promises and cause him to spend the next 40 yrs of his life on the back side of the desert. But as we see the workings of God in his life we find where God brings him to the scene here in Chapter 3:1-6, at this point Moses life will be totally transformed, but before we look at these verses I want us to look at a couple of points in the life of Moses.
#1 THE MISTAKE HE MADE.
Now let me say I believe that moses knew that he was the one that God would use to deliver the Hedrews from Egyptian bondage. Let me show you turn if you will to Acts chapter 7:23" And when he was full forty years old , it came into his heart to visit his brethern the children of Israel, and seeing one of them suffer wrong he defended, and avenged him that was oppressed and smote the egyptian."" V25 "For he supposed his brethern would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not." You see he thought they understood how God would deliver them by the hand of Moses. Now turn back to Exodus 2:11 We find where Moses jumpted ahead of God’s timetable. You see in V12 we find where Moses was more concerned with man than God, you see he looked this way and that way, why didn’t he look up to God. Listen to me their is a valuable lesson to learn here you see it’s not whether man puts his approval on our life but does God, it’s not what man thinks, but are we bringing Glory to God. You see the secret to spiritual power is dying to man’s ways, man’s opinions, man’s purposes, from haveing the world’s approval, and desiring God’s approval on our lives. You see success in man’s eyes is having a large congregation, being big, being known, but let me tell you that is not always the case in God’s eyes, I mean Why are you doing what your doing for? Man’s approval or God’s approval... I really believe that many will miss out on Heavenly Rewards because they want earthly recognition, we want that pat on the back and to hear people say your really doing a great job. But let me show you something else look at V23-25.
#2 WE FIND A TWO FOLD BURDEN
Man needed deliverance, but God needed a deliver
You see God uses vessels. His work is always done through a Human Vessel, he uses a person playing the piano, he uses a person leading in the singing, he uses a preacher to do the preaching, a person to do the teaching, You see that is how God get’s things done, I mean can you imagine what it would be like if we all just come in an sit down and waited for God to do something, now I not saying that he couldn’t, but today God doesn’t work like that he uses people like you and I, I’ve been in some really moving testamonies services, where someone would get up to testify, and then someone else and on and on and and God just met with his peoples and did a work in their hearts and we saw a mighty out pouring of the Holy Spirit. You see God uses people to accomplish his eternal purposes, now remember God not ony needed someone to deliver but there was man who needed delivering, it is the same today man needs to be delivered from the bondage of sin, you see if man isn’t delivered he will spend eternity in a place called Hell., Let me tell you 4 things that God doesn’t know
#1 GOD DOES NOT KNOW ANY SIN THAT HE DOES NOT HATE
#2 GOD DOES NOT KNOW ANY SINNER THAT HE WILL NOT SAVE
you see God wants all to be saved
#3 GOD DOES NOT KNOW ANY WAY FOR A SINNER TO BE SAVED BUT BY THE BLOOD, you see you can’t get their by the church ordinances, by your works, living a good moral life, it is only through the precious blood that was shed on calvary.
#4 GOD DOES NOT KNOW ANYWAY FOR MAN TO BE SAVED EXCEPT BY SOMEONE TELLING HIM That is where you and I come in, he commissioned you and I to Go and tell this world about the only way to heaven and that is through the Lord Jesus Christ.
You know I’m glad that mistakes aren’t final in God’s eyes, I’m glad that I serve a God of a second chance, Let me show you look at Chapter 3:1-6, it has been 40 years later moses has been on the back side of the desert and now God brings him to the scene in chapter 3, He looks and sees a bush burning, now the strange thing about it is that the bush is not consumed, and then God speakes to him out of the burning bush, now their was nothing special about this bush, it was not a divine bush that God had just for this occasion no any old bush would have done what God wanted done here, and that was to let Moses know that it was time to go and deliver the nation of Israel from egyptian bondage. That’s the message this morning we live in a world that needs to be delivered, but God needs a deliver not someone who things that he is special, no any old bush will do. You see it wasn’t the bush no it was God in the Bush
