Summary: Opportunities: Seized and wasted. This is a practical serman given before we left for camp.

Did You Know?

A dollar bill lasts approximately 18 months in circulation.

A pencil can draw a line more than 30 miles long, but a pen can only draw a line about 1 mile long.

Practice footballs used by NFL teams last only 2 or 3 days, with a playing life of about 5 hours.

Home teams are required to provide 24 new balls each game, and each ball sees only about 6 minutes of playing time.

An average person living 70 years spends:

23 years sleeping, 16 years working, 8 years watching TV, 6 years eating, 4 years being sick, 2 years getting dressed, but only about ½ of a year practicing their religion. (Not us though!?)

Just as TIME is a part of life,

OPPORTUNITIES are as well.

1. Two types:

Seized

Missed

2. A recently seized opportunity

Super Tuesday story: Waylan greeted and befriended CJ and now CJ wants to come to our youth group, because it’s friendly.

Colossians 4:5 ~~ Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.

3. What kind of opportunities do we come across as Christians?

Tell someone about Jesus

Be a servant / Help someone out

Receive from God

4. It is so important that we seize opportunities!

Ephesians 5:15-16 ~~ Be very careful, then, how you live--not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity…

Here it is plain and simple….READY?

Galatians 6:10 ~~ Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people…

DVD Chapter 10: 39:10 – 43:00

6. Tomorrow we leave for camp

If you are not going, you’re missing a great opportunity to receive from God.

If you are going, there is a chance you too could miss hearing from God.

I urge you to go to camp expecting to receive from God.

Meet him half way by talking to him, praising him, etc.

7. Lets Pray!

8. Worship is an opportunity, what are you going to do…?
