Introduction:
Just like many today, Zacchaeus had some problems that he needed someone to help him overcome!
A. His position was a problem (vs. 2)
It is always hard for the rich to
get saved because they do not need
anything! (Mat.10:23)
B. His elevation was a problem (vs.3)
He was trying to catch a glimpse of the
Saviour but could not! He never stopped
trying to get a glimpse. To often, we let
physical limitation stop us from getting
to Christ and serving him!
C. His condition was a problem (vs. 7)
We all have the same condtion! Everyone is
a sinner. (Romans 3:23)
Despite his riches, he was lost and
seeking an answer to his problems!
These same problems that Zacchaeus faced, many face today. They are trying everything they can to solve them, but find just a large emptiness! Who could possible solve these problems? Friend, let me introce your to the Salvation that came to His House!
1. The Promise of the Saviour.
a. A Promise of His Presence (vs. 5)
b. A Promise of His Deliverance (vs. 9)
2. The Purpose of the Saviour
A. To Seek the Lost
Everyone would say that is was Zacchaeus
who was seeking Christ; however it was
Christ who was seeking Zacchaeus! (vs 10;
Romans 3:11; Romans 5:8)
B. To Save the Lost (vs. 10)
3. The Power of the Saviour (vs. 8)
Christ completely changed his life by making a taker, a giver! No one ever had to tell him to give. Giving is just a natural reaction for a Christian!
Conclusion:
Salvation can come to your house today. You just have to lay your problems aside and the the Saviour handle your problems. You must realise that you are a sinner, that sin must be paid for, that Christ paid for your sin when He died on the Cross, and then you must ask Christ to forgive you of your sins and save you. Then Salvation will come to your house today too!
If Salvtion has already come to your house, then you should want it to go to everyone elses house. You can have a part in that by becoming a giver. You can give by sharing the Gospel with other and by giving money so other can go share the Gospel where you can not! Then truly the Gospel will be preached to every creature giving then the opportunity for Salvation to come to their house!
Remember His promises! Remeber His Purpose! Remember His Power!
