Text: Hebrews 6: 1-6
Introduction: A question that has been argued time and time again is the question concerning the Doctrine of Eternal Security. I would like to take the opportunity to speak to this subject and to try to make clear any misunderstanding that might be lurking in your minds.
I. Salvation’s Work Of Regeneration
Perfection - “A state of maturity” We should pursue a state of maturity.
Laying again a foundation - This phrase refers to the idea that if a Christian could lose their Salvation, they would need to be regenerated again and again.
II. Salvation’s Work Of Impossibilities
Those who were once enlightened - Salvation initiated by God giving “light” to every man.
And have tasted of the heavenly gift - Man’s response to the “light” God has given.
III. Salvation’s Work Of Acceptance
And were made partakers of the Holy Ghost - By one receiving, one is made a partaker.
IV. Salvation’s Work In The Believer
The believer is not merely accountable to simply follow the “good Word of God”; he is also urged to understand God’s future plan to exercise His power.
V. Salvation’s Work Of Repentance
The teaching is clear, if one needed to again renew them to repentance, Christ would then again need to be crucified again and put to open shame.
