Pro. 29:18 Where there is no vision, the people perish.
The Price of Vision: King Uzziah died
The 3 fold vision, that we must have as individual believers, and as a body of believers.
(1)UPWARD: The first vision we must have is an upward vision, That is we must have a vision that is lifted above this natural realm. We must a vision of the The Lord High and Lifted up.
There are 3 attributes. That belong to God
(Omnipotent) (Omnipresent) (Omniscient)
all powerful all present all knowing
Isa.40:22 22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
We need a vision of God’s almightiness. His Holiness, His Goodness, His Grace. And Mercy.
(2) INWARD: (Woe is me)
This is the ability that we must possess in order to continue to grow in Christlikeness. = The ability to look inward =self examination.
Self examination: Paul said. Let a man examine himself and see if he is in the faith.
*It is easy to see the faults and weaknesses and shortcomings of others, *But true spiritual growth is the product of inward honesty.
* (Mat 7:5 KJV) Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.
Thou desirest truth in the inward parts.
Isa.58:7 Hide not thyself from thine own flesh.
This heart honesty will produce 2 indispensible things to the Christian Life
(1)divine desperation=I am undone (2)divine dependance (w/o me you can do nothing)
Which will result in divine assistance,
Isa. 1:6-7 Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar:
7.And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged.
(3) Outward
(Isa 6:8 KJV) Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
(John 4:35 KJV) Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
