Eph 6:15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Anytime we speak of the feet we are speaking of the believers walk= His Life as witnessed by others and before God.
*Speaking of those who live the faith life we are said to be followers of the steps of Abraham.
(Ro 4:12)
And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the steps of that faith of our father Abraham, which [he had] being [yet] uncircumcised.
Psalms 37:23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way.
Romans 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
*Steps, Walk, Feet, All refer to the conversation = way of life.
The feet are that part of the body that comes into contact with the ground, Therefore our feet represent the communication that we have with those who are still earthbound.
For this reason our feet must be shod, covered, protected, and empowered with the preparation of the Gospel.
*Feet speak of possession:
Genesis 13:17 Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee.
Joshua 1:3 Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses. ( This means standing by faith upon the promises of God).
Deu 33:25 Thy shoes shall be iron and brass; and as thy days, so shall thy strength be.
This speaks to us of a life that is ( established), Iron speaks of strength, brass speaks of Judgment or discernment.
*The only way to have beautiful feet from Gods perspective is to have them joined to and established in the Word of God.
Song of So 7:1 How beautiful are thy feet with shoes, O prince’s daughter! the joints of thy thighs are like jewels, the work of the hands of a cunning workman.
Ro 10:15 How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Luke 15:22 But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
The robe= Righteousness, The Ring = fellowship, The Shoes = The Gospel of Peace
*A soldier with no shoes is (crazy):
To be without shoes is to be naked, and vulnerable, (If you are barefooted, there are many places you won’t go,) Therefore to be without prepared feet or shod feet is to limit the spread of the gospel and to limit your claim to Gods promises.
#1 We must ourselves be established in the gospel of peace, we must have the peace of God ruling in our hearts. We must be at peace ( You cannot war a good warfare without peace).
Col 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
The law offered a peace substitute really it was appeasement, The law and it’s sacrifices could never produce true peace.
Hebrews 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
*Peace is imperative to a successful warfare
It is as foolish for a believer to enter spiritual warfare without his shoes of peace, as it is for a soldier to go to war barefooted.
Philip 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
*Note:that peace comes as our minds are stayed, settled, established, upon the Lord, and the Lord = The Word
Isaiah 26:3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
The words Perfect and peace are the same Hebrew word, it really says peace peace, or perfect perfect.
Simply put it means nothing lacking.
(PEACE) completeness, safety, rest, soundness (in body) mind and spirit health, prosperity (To be Complete)
This peace comes to us
#1 Through righteousness
Ro 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Isaiah 32:17 And the work of righteousness shall be (peace;) and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.
#2 By having our hearts and minds established in the word.
Don’t leave home without it.
If you walk without peace, you are naked and vulnerable to attacks of the mind, and of the heart, and certainly will not be able to help others find peace.
