I know most everybody is use to the scripture for giving (tithing) Luke 6: 38 or Malachi 3: 10, but I have found two other scriptures that breakdown God’s theory on seed time and harvest. The time is coming (and now is) that it won’t be us harvesting our blessing, but the “sinner” will be bringing them to us.
First of all lets get it straight that God wants us to be wealth. Deuteronomy 8: 18 says, “But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.” God wants us to have the good things in life so that he can keep His promises. You know them, if not look in Philippians 4: 19; III John 1:2; Psalm 24: 10. (Just to cover a few)
The first scripture is just like the one in Luke (just a 1000 years earlier)… Proverbs 11:24-25:
"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."
To look at this with natural eyes would make a person say it makes no sense, how can you give but gain more. But, to look with spiritual x-ray vision you can see that verse 24 is the theory, and 25 is the explanation. See, a person that gives freely (according to the word of God) understands the Kingdom principles found in Luke 6: 38. By giving to God and his people, he in turn will pour out blessings on everyone, you included. I love verse 25, because it breaks it down in is most simply form; “he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed”, in other word, you can’t pray for rain and not it wet yourself. In fact the King James Version coins it just like that: “and he that watereth shall be watered also himself” That’s why it most important for us to give our tithe, because these blessing that will rain down simply awaited our obedience.
The second scripture I found is in Ecclesiastes 2: 26:
"For God gives wisdom and knowledge and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God..."
If we just obey God, he will give us the things that the sinner has or wants. I have always heard the saying, “The sale are for the Saints” and “The Bargains are for the Believers” and it true! I remember a testimony a friend gave that he needed a job that paid well to support his family. He said that he obeyed God and trusts in His Word about tithing, and gave even when it was tight! So one day, he was he saw a billboard ad that said that Roadway Freight was hiring drivers, so he called the number and set up an interview. Needless to say, he got the job, but he saw the same billboard the next day and the ad was gone. God has a reserve on your blessing; you just have to be in the right place (with God) to get it. The second part of the text says that the sinner or wicket shall gather up our blessings to give to us. So don’t get discourage when you see the drug dealer, liar, misusers, backstabber riding in the car of your prayers (dreams), they’re just keepin’ it warm for ya. That’s why the Devil can’t keep his hands on what he stole from you, because God as already ordained, “the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just” (Proverbs 13:22). God gives you these things, not just because you’re obedient to Him, but he wants to show people what serving God can do.
