Have you ever wondered why you were born?
Why God breathed life into your body?
Have you ever wondered what God has in store for your life ahead?
The fact of the matter is that 94% of people today are just enduring today while waiting for the future. But we must understand that ALL we have is today, because yesterday has gone and tomorrow never comes.
Jesus KNEW His cause for coming to the world.
John 18:37 “…To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
THIS CAUSE, Jesus said did I come into this world…
What was this cause?
Jesus did not come to earth to maybe do something Big. He did not come to earth to hopefully change a world. Jesus did not die on the cross to one-day redeem man. It wasn’t a dream that He had, it wasn’t a plan, He did not gather His disciples together and cast His vision for the future. Jesus came to bring a cause.
What is a cause? Let me tell you by comparing it to a VISION:
You must understand something about CAUSES:
• A vision is personal, but a cause is bigger than any one person is
• People generally won’t die for a vision, but they die for a cause everyday around the world.
• Vision is something a person can possess, but a cause possesses the person.
• Vision leaves you with options. But a cause leaves you with no options
• You can ignore a vision but you can’t ignore a cause.
• Vision lasts for a lifetime, but a cause’s last forever.
• You can change a vision—but the cause never changes.
• A vision will generate excitement, but a cause generates power
Jesus said it was for ‘THIS CAUSE’ that I came into the World.
Jesus was born for a cause, that CAUSE was to restore this world back to God
In 1Timothy 1:15 we see Paul’s understanding of THIS CAUSE: 15 Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners— of whom I am the worst.
You and I also were born for a cause, and our connection to the world is that same cause, and it’s the cause of the King and of the Kingdom.
To bring forth CHANGE into our lives
To be move people into ACTION
To bring about Spiritual UNREST in the demonic world
To SAVE men and women
To ELIMINATE excuses for sin
1. Jesus came to CHANGE our direction
- One of the things to do when problems exist in our live is to change our course of direction
- Before Jesus came, people were satisfied with what the world had to offer, but since Jesus offers so much more, the people wanted to Change their course of direction
- To start fulfilling your PURPOSE in life, their must be a Change of direction
- In fact the word REPENT literally means to “change your direction, and to change your mind, and to change your course.”
- Jesus came to bring men and women to REPENTANCE
- Luke 5:32 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
- Just like Jesus part of our purpose here on earth is to CAUSE people to CHANGE their direction
2. Jesus came to move ordinary people into ACTION
- When Jesus came to earth, He did something unusual He used everyday ordinary people to do the functions of a minister
- His disciples preached and taught, and baptized and healed people in Jesus’ name
- Jesus sent the disciples out 2 by 2 to minister to the cities
- Do you want a CAUSE for your existence?
- Part of our purpose is to be active about our faith in Jesus
- When the disciples started “Working” for Jesus, it probably was the hardest job they ever loved.
3. Jesus came to bring about Spiritual UNREST in the demonic world
- Prior to the time Jesus came on the seen, their were at least 400 years of silence from God to man
- This time that I refer to was the time between the testaments
- Don’ t you think Satan was happy
- I can see it now, him and his imps joyfully going about to disrupt life on earth without Divine involvement and without human interference
These days were when many cults and false religions started; namely Islam, Buddhism, Zoroaster, Confucianism, and Taoism
- It is no wonder what Jesus coming to earth must have done in the spiritual world.
- That is why the devil tried to kill Him while He was an infant
- When Jesus came on the seen, the devils quaked, and trembled and went running for cover.
- When a demonically possessed man would come to Jesus, he could not hide. Sometimes these demons would expose themselves and Jesus would run them off.
- READ MATTHEW 8:28
28 When he arrived at the other side in the region of the Gadarenes, two demon-possessed men coming from the tombs met him. They were so violent that no one could pass that way.29 "What do you want with us, Son of God?" they shouted. "Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?"30 Some distance from them a large herd of pigs was feeding.31 The demons begged Jesus, "If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs."32 He said to them, "Go!" So they came out and went into the pigs, and the whole herd rushed down the steep bank into the lake and died in the water.
- Here is the best part we also have the same power that Jesus had infact we have more
- John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.
4. Jesus came to bring SIGNIFICANCE to men
- To have significance means to have meaning or importance
- God revealed to man through Jesus how significant we are to the Kingdom
- John 3:16
5. Jesus came to ELIMINATE excuses for sin
- John 15:22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.
- This was one of the primary reasons people were angry with Jesus. When He was around people were convicted of their sin.
John 9:41 Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.
- Look at what Jesus said in our opening verse:
John 18:37 “…To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
- That truth includes the truth that we are sinners, and we are in need of redemption
