HEBREWS 10:35,36:
CAST NOT AWAY THEREFORE YOUR CONFIDENCE, WHICH HATH GREAT RECOMPENCE OF REWARD.
FOR YE HAVE NEED OF PATIENCE, THAT AFTER YE HAVE DONE THE WILL OF GOD, YE MIGHT RECEIVE THE PROMISE.(KJV)
In an ever changing world, we need confidence. Confidence is the assurance in God’s word that not one of His promises concerning our lives will fail. I believe faith and confidence goes hand and hand. To have strong faith, you have to know the will of God.
If God placed you in that ministry and it’s struggling, stay put and have confidence. God will bless it. If you or your family members have sickness, stand on the word that whatsoever we ask Him according to His will, He hears us. His will for us is to prosper and be in health even as our soul prospers. Sometimes, it’s hard for us to have confidence. In another protion of scripture:
LUKE 8:22-25:
NOW IT HAPPENED, ON A CERTAIN DAY, THAT HE GOT INTO A BOAT WITH HIS DISCIPLES. AND HE SAID TO THEM, "LET US CROSS OVER TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LAKE." AND THEY LAUNCHED OUT.
BUT AS THEY SAILED HE FELL ASLEEP. AND A WINDSTORM CAME DOWN ON THE LAKE, AND THEY WERE FILLING WITH WATER, AND WERE IN JEOPARDY.
AND THEY CAME TO HIM AND AWOKE HIM, SAYING, "MASTER, MASTER, WER ARE PERISHING!" THEN HE AROSE AND REBUKED THE WIND AND THE RAGING OF THE WATER. AND THEY CEASED, AND THERE WAS A CALM.
BUT HE SAID TO THEM, "WHERE IS YOUR FAITH?" AND THEY WERE AFRAID AND MARVELED, SAYING TO ONE ANOTHER, "WHO CAN THIS BE? FOR HE COMMANDS EVEN THE WINDS AND WATER, AND THEY OBEY HIM!"(NKJV)
Jesus told His disciples "where is your faith". We need to have faith. That’s the most important thing. I hear people sometimes say we need self-confidence, but I think on it sometimes and say we need God confidence. Self will always mess up, but confidence in God will never fail.
I remember when my youngest daughter Abigail was born, and the night before she was due to be born, I had to take my wife to the hospital. At the hospital, the nurse told us the baby was turned in an awkard position in the mother’s stomach. There was two options: regular birth or ceserian section. Regular birth would hurt the baby and c-section would be a danger to the mother because of the condition she was in. The spotlight was on me. So my wife asked me what was the best decision. I had to have confidence in God in that situation because I could not rely on self. To be honest, self was scared. Anyway, we prayed together in that hospital room at North Central Bronx for 7 hours and refused to make any decisions without hearing the voice of God. So when we got full assurance from God on the decision to make, we went with the c-section and everything came out okay.
We will be put in certain situations where we would have to make major decisions. What I can tell you from lots of experience, have confidence in God and he will give you the full assurance you need.
