Intro:
We’re living in a time, where the enemy is going to and from, seeking whom he may devour. The devil is busy, the devil is not taking a coffee break, and he’s not on vacation. The devil recognizes that if he’s going to bring down, as many Christians as possible, he has to work over-time, not only is he working over-time, he’s working triple time. And why you’re on your job, in church, or even sleeping at night, the devil is trying to plot up something to get you. That’s why before you go to work; to church, or to bed, you need to pray over yourself. Because if you’re not careful, you will have some bad days.
You see the enemy is trying to corrupt you, “He don’t want you to know the truth”. In fact he don’t even like you, because when you made up in your mind that you’re going to serve God. The devil got real angry with you, (but turn to your neighbor and say, it’s to late now). I gave the devil his time, now I’m on the Lord’s side, and I’m not going back. You see, a lot of Christians these days are not saying anything; we just let the devil walk all over us. But you see, when you have gone through HELL, and High Water, and you know God brought you out, you don’t mind saying something, you don’t mind telling somebody how good God’s been or how He brought you out. But before you can say something, you must use what the Bible tell us to use.
(Proverbs 18:6-7; 21) & (Luke 19:40)
6. A fool’s lips bring him strife, and his mouth invites a beating. 7. A fool’s mouth is his undoing, and his lips are a snare to his soul. 21. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Lk.19:40. "I tell you, "If they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."
I know so many good church folks who are afraid to declare with their mouths what the Word of God says about them. But they will gladly and boldly talk about everything that doesn’t concern them, but for some reason or other, they are so afraid to confess what God and His Word says. If you don’t hear anything else I say tonight, please hear this. “There’s Power in your Mouth”! Let’s see what God’s Word say about this. I have three points to give you, and I will take my seat:
I. How to stop speaking defeat in our life:
a. Watch what you say
First of all, if you’re going to tell somebody something, you got to watch what you say. You can’t say just anything; to many people are speaking defeat in their life. God is getting tired of his children saying; I don’t know what I’m going to do when trails come your way, because when we get into trouble, that’s what we say. He said death or life is in the power of the tongue.
What are you saying, preacher? Well, the Bible says:
God’s name is a conquering name;
Philippians 2:10-11 say, “every Knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord”. So when the devil comes my way and start missing with me, I just put the word of God on him. When you speak the Word, you are actually putting God in the battle. Remember the battle is not yours, it’s the Lords, but God told us to defeat the devil by rebuking him. In order to rebuke him, you have to say something.
John 1:1 say, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God.
Gen. 1:1 said, “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the Earth”. In chapter 1 alone, you will find theses 3 words (And God said) 9 times.
John 1:14 says, “And the Word became flesh”, David said in Psalms 119:11, “thy Word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against thee”. The word hidden, in Hebrews means (Memorized) that mean you should have the word memorized in your heart. Why, because the word I memorize, is the word I utilize (say that with me).
You see when Satan attempted to tempt Jesus in the wilderness, he was trying to subdue Jesus mission to the cross. When Satan came up against Jesus in the wilderness, Jesus didn’t say, I don’t know what I’m going to do; He opened his mouth and quoted the Words of God. He said, “It is written”, so if Jesus can speak the Words of God, and He did say these things I do, you can do, and even greater. Then “Somebody in here ought to say something”! You see;
· Satan is not afraid of you Education
· He is not afraid of how Elegant or Intelligent you can speak
· He is not afraid of your Options, nor is he afraid of your Church Denomination
But there is one thing that he is afraid of, and that’s the Word of God!
You see church;
. We need to speak the Word of God
· We need to act upon the Word of God
· And most of all, we need to attack the Devil with the Word of God
When the Devil comes roaring like a loin, we need to speak back it him and say:
.I Am what this book says I Am, it says (I am more then a conqueror, I Am the head and not the tail)
.I can Do what this book say I can Do, it says (I can Do All things, through Christ Jesus which strengthen me)
.I Have what this book say I Have, it says (I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you).
This book says, “Nothing is impossible to them that believe, and are called according to His purpose”.
.This Word is sharper than a two edge sword.
.This book is milk for an infants.
.It’s meat for men.
.It’s Hope for the hopeless.
.It’s a Friend to the friendless.
.This Word conquered Death, Hell, and the Grave.
.This Word conquered Diseases.
.This Word conquered Demon Powers, and most of all, this Word can transform any negative situation into a positive one. The Bible says, “to speak to those thing which are, as thou are not”.
II. How to change a negative situation into a positive one:
b. By Speaking the Word of God
· If its Sickness in your life, then Say Something
· If you need Healing, then Say Something
· If its Deliverance you need, from Drug; Alcohol or Homosexuality, Say Something
· If its your Finances, Say Something
· If its Food, Clothes or anything, Somebody Ought to Say Something
You see, when Satan comes up against you saying your defeated, take the Word of God and fire back at him, open your mouth and speak the Word of God. It’s the Words that conquer the prince of darkness; it’s the Word that puts him in his place.
When Satan say your defeated, say to him, “The Lord is my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear; the Lord is the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid”.
When Satan whisper that your no good, just tell him, “Blessed is the man that walk not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of the sinners”. The counsel of the ungodly are those who stand against Christ, you should be like a tree planted by the river of living water, your leaf shall not whether, and whatsoever you doth shall prosper.
When Satan tells the doctor to tell you, your sick, and your never going to be well again, fire back at him and say, the Bible say;
.I am the Lord your God, that heal ALL of your diseases.
.Say By His strips, I am healed.
.Say the Lord sent His Word, and He healed me.
.Say Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me, and forget not ALL of His benefits; who forgive us from ALL of our sins, and heals us from ALL of our diseases.
.Say whom the son set free, is free indeed, you are FREE today. Speak the Words of God, and watch the prince of darkness run for his life, and watch him run in terror, and most of all, watch him bow down at your feet. You see our God is an Awesome God, and we need to start acting like it. (Give God some Praise)
III. How are we going to make it:
c. We need to make it with a Praises:
All you got to do is Praise God. (Give your neighbor a high five and say I’m going to praise God like I’ve lost my mind).
I know you’re going through, and I know the devil is trying to tell you, you’re the only one going through, but you’re not the only one going through, there are people in here that’s been going through something worse than you’ve ever gone though. But they’re still making it, and I found out the only way you’re going to make it, is with a “Praises”. You see, you can make it with Jesus, you got to make up in your mind, I don’t care who don’t like me, I don’t care who don’t speak to me, I ‘m going to seek the face of God.
And sometimes you’re going to be all by yourself, but I found out;
.This walk is really a lonely walk
.This walk is not a crowd walk
.This walk is not a buddy walk
.This walk is just between you and Jesus, and if God don’t help you, then honey you just can’t be helped.
In Closing:
Your words should either confirm your Faith, or they will deny your Faith!
Your words should agree with what God has already spoken in His Word, and then you should refuse to be moved by circumstances that may arise. Someone said, “I am not moved by what I see or feel or hear, but I’m moved by only what GOD’S WORD SAY!”
You cannot believe in your own heart and deny with your mouth, because what you say with your mouth rules you.
Do you understand that we have that same Power that Jesus exercise when He go up. This is the same Power that You and I have tonight.
· It’s the same Power that healed the lamb man at the gate called Beautiful
· It’s the same Power when Jesus said, Father forgive them for they know not what they do.
· It’s the same Power that Raised the Widow son
· It’s the same Power tuned the Water into wine
· It’s the same Power that cause the Blind to see
· It’s the same Power that set the Captive free, that mean your are FREE tonight, and “whom the Son set FREE, is FREE indeed”
· It’s the same Power when David said, the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
· I shall not want for Joy, for in His present is the fullness of Joy!
· I shall not want for Peace, because He is the Prince of Peace!
· I shall not want for Love, for God is Love!
· I shall not want for Friendship, for He is the Friend that walketh closer then a brother!
· I shall not want for Leadership, because He is my Shepherd, who Guides, and Provides!
· I shall not want for Anointing, for He Anoint my head with oil, and surely my cup runs over!
· I shall not want for Prosperity, because He Prepare a table before me, in the presents of mine enemies!
· I shall not want for Mercy, for surely Goodness and Mercy shall follow me all the days of my life!
· I shall not want for Eternal Life, for I shall dwell in the House of the Lord forever and ever, and of His Kingdom there shall be no end! (Hallelujah)
Say Something! Say Something! Oh Somebody Ought To Say Something! So church, we are in a fight to the finish.
· There is not a Crown, without a Cross.
· There is not a Gain, without a Lost.
· There is not a Victory, without a Fight.
· There is not a Dawn, without a Night.
Paul said to the Church, “fight the good fight of faith”, endure hardness as a good soldier of Jesus Christ, endure, endure, and endure. Engage the enemy with the weapons of our warfare, in the Power of His Name; in the Power of His Blood; in the Authority of His Words, let God arise, and let his enemies be scattered. (Hallelujah, Somebody Ought To Say Something)
