23 Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again.” 24 Martha answered, “I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.” 25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?”
I just want to talk about the Power of the Resurrection, and what it has done for us. I think we as Christians and students of the Bible, we often look over the obvious, and find ourselves looking for a four-leaf clover in the glass, and why we are looking for this four-leaf clover, we over look all of the other flowers that show us God’s Power. We look beyond it, and often times it escapes us. And I believe, as a matter of fact, I know it’s for a purpose. One of the reasons that we are so defeated and so combated about, is not so much by the enemy, but by the turmoil that we see even among ourselves. Now sometime Satan is responsible for that, but other times it is us.
I want to tell you about the Power of Jesus Resurrection. What He said here in the 11th chapter, around the 25th verse, he said, “I am the Resurrection and the Life ”. Do you understand that it is the Power of Jesus Christ Resurrection at work, that makes you a Christian today? It’s the only reason that we are able to be Christians.
· It’s the Power of the Resurrection that gives us Faith to call upon the name of Jesus.
· It’s the Power of the Resurrection that has Satan under our feet.
· It’s the Power of the Resurrection that gives You and I the discipline power to draw others into the Kingdom of God.
· It’s the Power of the Resurrection that is just as powerful now, as it was then.
You see what the Resurrection has given you and I more than just faith; it’s more than eternal life; yet, this is what I’m trying to say. I think we are over looking so many of His benefits, so many Amanatee’s of the Holy Spirit and of the Resurrection that Jesus has won for us, that we simply look at just Eternal life.
· We simply look at the Resurrection Sunday
· We simply look at the Saints being raised up in a cloud with Believer’s
We simply just look at these things, but we don’t realize that God said that He have given you Power over the power of Satan. Do you understand that, that also liken to our abilities with the same Resurrection or Dotomus Power that Jesus Christ exercise when He go up from the grave. This is the same Power that you and I have today.
· It’s the same Power that raised Jarius daughter.
· It’s the same Power that called out demands.
· It’s the same Power that healed the lepers.
· It’s the same Power that will never loose its Power.
What I’m saying is this, you have the power to use the words of God to bring life, and you have power to use words of God to bring death. Jesus as we see Him in Gen. chapter 1, the Bible said, “and God said, let there be light. He used the word to bring light into the world, then we see him over in the book of Luke, and also Matthew records it, when he uses another word to curse and bring death for His Victory.
So what I’m trying to say is, life and death are in the power of the tongue. This is the same Resurrection Power that Jesus got up with, and He gave this power to you and I.
The Bible says, “that you will receive Power, after the Holy Ghost come upon you”. He said you should become witnesses unto me, 1st in Jerusalem that’s (your Home); then in Judea that’s (your Family); then in Samaria that’s (your Neighborhood); and then into the utter most parts of the World. But you see, we don’t get it, we just don’t get it, we are only looking at the Resurrection as far as we can see it. The Resurrection is right now, He told Martha in John 11:25 “I am the Resurrection”. And I want to tell you today that the Power of the Resurrection of Jesus is Well and Alive.
Yah, Yah, it has a quickening truth, it has a Dotomus Power that only you and I are able to operate in when we are obedient to His Word. You are not a defeated Christian, and when the Power of the Resurrection is not alive for you, and it’s not able to move at your command, it’s because there are forces of principalities in dark places coming up against you. I think we heard this conversation before, do you understand that this is what Jesus was telling Martha, when she said, “I know that he shall rise again in the Resurrection”. I can see Jesus looking at her and shaking his head, and saying, you just don’t get it:
· I am the Resurrection
· I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life
· I am the Rock of Ages
· I am the Bread of Life
· I am the Bridge over trouble Waters
· I am the Good Shepherd
· I am the Doctor, that can heal your body
· I am the Lawyer, that never lost a case
· I Am that, I Am
But I still hear you all saying, I went to the doctor, and he said I have a lump on my back, and the doctor don’t know what it is, and now I’m worried. You see, you still don’t get it. The Resurrection Power is here right now; it starts when you began to speak the words of All Mighty God and say, the Victory is already mine. When the devil remind you of your past, you remind him of his future, he doesn’t have one.
· This is why we are able to speak those things that are, as they are not
· This is why you have the power over the power of Satan
· This is why we can say, “no weapon formed against me, will prosper”, although they might form, but they will not hurt you.
The word Prosper in the text means, that it has no defeating power over you.
· Do you want to be washed in the resurrection power today
· Do you want to see Jesus like Martha should have saw him, right before her face, as the Power of the Resurrection
The Resurrection Power is here, and it’s here right now.
· If you want to be Heal today, it’s here!
· If you want to be Deliver today, it’s here!
· If you want to be Set Free forever, it’s here! The Power of the Resurrection is here right now
Whatever it is that you need, the Power is here right now. God is still saying to you, “that earth has no sorry, that Heaven cannot heal”.
So many people are seeking God’s power in the same way as a "thing" or a "force" that can be used for their own needs and wants. But there is a serious problem with this thinking. The “Power” of the Resurrection isn’t a “thing” or a “force”— It’s the LOVE of Jesus!
· It was love, that sent Jesus into the world!
· It was love, why He died on and old raged cross for us!
· It was love, that exploded Jesus out of the tomb!
· It was love, that Healed the blind!
· It was love, that Raised the dead!
· It was love, that gave you and I another chance to get it right! It Is Love!
Listen! John 3:16 say, "God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, so that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." God loved us so much that He sent His Son, His only Son, Jesus Christ to die for us. It is His love that holds the universe together, and it will remain when everything else passes away.
It’s easier for many people today to understand the Power of the Resurrection as a kind of physical might, or an explosive force such as dynamite. Many people want that kind of power in their lives today, because they want to overcome the problems in their lives. They want the power to blow away those things that trouble them. Loving is the hardest task of all, and you can’t do it by yourself. In fact, you can’t even love God by yourself; you have to ask Jesus to give you, to love Him back. Of all the 613 laws in the Old Testament, Jesus narrowed them down to just two.
When the Pharisee asked Jesus in (Matt. 22:37) "Which is the Greatest Commandment in the Law"? Jesus replied in verse 38: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind”. This is the first and Greatest Commandment." It’s easy for us in the natural realm to understand the difference between right and wrong when it’s clearly marked before our face, such as a traffic light or a stop sign.
· We drive down the street and the stop sign read Stop, so we stop, because it says to stop!
· When your teacher tells you, there is no talking during class time, you don’t talk. Why, because it’s the rule.
You see, theses are things that are clearly defined. But when God say to use, we are supposed to love Him with all our heart, mind, and soul, we have a problem with that, because we don’t have a clear defined sign or set of rules in front of us. Jesus then gave the second law in Matt. 22:39, He said, "Love your neighbor as you love yourself”. All the Laws and the Prophets hang on to these 2 Commandments." Jesus is saying, that loving your neighbor as yourself, is the same as loving God with all your heart, soul, mind!
In Closing:
Now comes the real test: How are we supposed to love our neighbors, when we can’t even love ourselves?
· Some of us live in defeat
· Some of us may even hate ourselves
· Some of us don’t want to deal with the real problems inside of us, because we can’t handle the reality of who we are, or who is to blame
· Some of us are just miserable, and we see ourselves as useless, you can’t love your neighbor, if you don’t know how to love yourself
But I want you to know, there is hope. Hope that you can love yourself, and you can love your neighbors as you love yourself, and you can even love God with all your heart, and all your soul, and your mind. I hear you all saying, preacher, how are we going to do that? I’m glad you asked me, by giving up, and giving in to Jesus.
· Jesus, the Lilly of the Valley
· Jesus, the Bright and Morning Star
· Jesus, the Great I Am
· Jesus, the Lamb of God
· Jesus, the Rock of Ages
· Jesus, the one who Was, and who Is, and Forever Will Be
Know Him today, in the Power of the Resurrection.
· There’s Hope, in the Power of the Resurrection; (My Hope is built on nothing less, then Jesus Blood and Righteousness)
· There’s Love, in the Power of the Resurrection; (God so Loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son)
· There’s Joy, in the Power of the Resurrection; (This Joy I have, the world didn’t give it to me, and the world can’t take it away)
· There’s Peace, in the Power of the Resurrection; (He will give you Peace, that surpasses all understanding)
· There’s Deliverance, in the Power of the Resurrection; (The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want)
· There’s Freedom, in the Power of the Resurrection; (Whom the Son set Free, is free indeed)
No Him today, in the Power of the Resurrection! God Bless You, and may Heaven smile on you.
