Journalists know the importance of opening lines

Once it is made, it can’t be undone
Opening line sets the tone for the whole book
God’s opening line was, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Knowing authors pack a lot into the opening statement, what does God pack into His?
Genesis answers 2 key questions that we humans strive to answer.

3. Two types of Evolution: Micro-evolution, Macro-evolution
a) Micro-evolution
(1) Things change slowly, but do not change form
(2) God made things after their kind, but did not make all species within their kind.
(3) Spots on a butterfly’s wings might change, but it is still a butterfly
(4) Leopard might change its spots, but it is still a leopard.
b) Macro-evolution
(1) Not only did the leopard change its spots, but it began to walk upright as well.
(2) Amoebae became frog became bird became slug became politician.
(3) The evolved animal takes on traits that the original animal did not have, thus a new animal is formed.
4. Lack of evidence for Macro-evolution

b) Earliest fossil record are in the Cambrian Strata (544 Million Years) part of the Paleozoic age
(1) Full Skeletons of invertebrates that we have today
(2) Previous Strata - Vendia Strata (Proterozoic) only bacteria or algae
c) Where are the missing links? Why such a change?
(1) Many feel that the beginning of the Paleozoic strata (where skeletons are found) is the record of the Great Flood
(2) Inside the Paleozoic strata is where we find fossils of most early animals

D. Creation

2. Objections:
a) Creation & Science don’t mix
(1) Who better to define science than the creator
b) If God is the Creator, who created Him?
(1) We could ask the same thing about your amoebae.
c) The fossil record supports evolution
(1) Carbon dating is Circular
(a) We know how old something is by how much carbon is in it, and we know
(b) We know how much carbon it should have because of how old it is
(2) It has not been proven that carbon deterioration is constant
(3) If the fossil record supports evolution, where are the records?
d) Creationism is religiously exclusive
(1) There were many theories about how man could fly, only one worked
(2) There were many theories on how to cure polio, only one worked
(3) There are differing theories on how the world was created, only one is true, only one works.
You say Creationism is religiously exclusive, I say Evolution is religiously exclusive.
There are many religions and many stories from those religions about how the Earth was Created. Only ONE can be true. Evolutionists say that Creationists are religiously exclusive because we say that we are right and they are wrong.
Evolutionists are religiously exclusive because they say that we are wrong because they are right.
The Creation vs. Evolution argument has nothing to do with science, and everything to do with religion.
Evolutionary thought evolved from a pre-determined notion that there is no proof of God.
Creationistic thought is derived from a pre-determined notion that there IS a God, and His creation proves His existence.
